Gold Pan Inn Centrally located!! A Perfect Place to Stay!!

Gold Pan Inn is waiting for you!! Our home is wheelchair accessible with no stairs to climb. The comfy living room welcomes you to relax watching TV while the dining room is the perfect place for a couple/family dinner. An open concept allows you to cook in the fully furnished kitchen (dishes, pots & pans, a coffeemaker, a crockpot and a blender) while enjoying a conversation with the rest of your party.
The primary bedroom boasts a king-size bed and en-suite bath. The second bedroom has a queen bed with a full bath directly across the hall. Towels and bedding are all provided…all you need to bring is your clothes, food and personal items.
Our home is situated on Prospect Mountain which gives you a beautiful view of the 1880 Train from the deck while sipping your favorite glass of wine or beer (did we mention there are 5 wineries & 3 breweries to visit in Hill City?) A flat-iron grill is available for your use as is a washer & dryer.
Hill City is centrally located to all the major attractions in the Black Hills. Crazy Horse is only 10 minutes away; Mt. Rushmore is 15 minutes away. Custer State Park beckons with buffalo, elk, pronghorn, prairie dogs, and donkeys. If you are really lucky you will also see the mountain goats and the big horn sheep! You can rent ATV's just outside town or take a trail ride on a great horse!
And, Hill City itself is a fabulous, quaint little town. You can visit unique shops (The Farmer's Daughter), peruse some of the finest art in the Black Hills (there are 4 art galleries), ride the 1880 Train, or come face-to-face with Buffy…the T-Rex! And, of course, the restaurants are amazing!
Also available a couple blocks from our home is the Mickelson Trail where you can ride bikes (rentals available downtown at Rabbit Bicycle), walk, run, or jog. The Trail is 109 miles through the middle of the Black Hills. Gorgeous!!
So come to the Black Hills…stay with us! You will be glad you did!

We felt this was one of the best vacation rentals we ever had. The house was spacious. Everything we needed was provided. The view was beautiful. We didn’t feel the pictures did the house justice. It was a beautiful surprise.Working with the host was easy. We met them and they made us feel very welcome. If we come back to this area we would love to rent this house.

Great rental

This is a very nicely equipped rental property. Good wifi, good TV with cable tv access, and great bbq grill on a deck with a view of hill city. Property owner lives nearby and was available via cell phone for the few questions we had.

Fantastic location!

This is absolutely the best location for the Black Hills. Located centrally to all the attractions for an easy drive to everything but also able to walk into Hill City to several restaurants, museums, and shopping. The property was very well maintained and we were not expected to do a bunch of cleaning before we left. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Excellent location

Good for 2 couples. Short drive to all the good places to see like Custer park, Wind Cave park, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, etc. all 30 minutes or less. Hill City is a cozy town with good places to eat. Home very well maintained and extremely clean.

Vacation

The property was very nice and clean, we thought according to the website and guest book that we were supposed to get a pass for Custer state park that was not there and a few things we had to search for like garbage bags that were not under the sink. We was a beautiful place and we thank you for having us.

Was clean and perfect for a group of 4. A nice little deck in back. Saw quite a few deer which was pretty cool. Wish there had been air conditioner in bedrooms but if you open the windows at night it was pretty comfortable.

Very clean and comfortable. After a day of riding and taking in the sights of the beautiful Black Hills we particularly enjoyed cards and refreshments on the deck overlooking Hill City. We would recommend this accommodation .

Perfection Defined

The entire home was extremely clean, well appointed and fully equipped. Walking distance to Hill City venues. Equidistant to Rushmore, Sylvan Lake, Custer Park. Great location.

A Perfect Getaway

I have stayed in many places, but this was by far the cleanest, most organized and most comfortable of all of them. It was perfect for the 4 of us, and the location allowed us to see a few deer, too! It was nice to have the supplies we needed and not be limited to two rolls of paper towels or 3 trash bags. You can never go wrong with this townhome. We were so glad it was what we chose.

Peaceful Retreat

My husband and I brought my parents to see Mt. Rushmore and this place was perfect. After a day of sightseeing it was nice to return to the peace and quiet. The house is clean and the furniture is comfortable. The balcony has a partial view of downtown Hill City and it’s close enough to walk. The owners are wonderful to work with and we would definitely stay here again! 5 Stars!!

This place was so beautiful, clean, and had everything we needed to feel at home. Dennis and Tanya even provided homemade muffins and cookies as a welcome for us. They had water bottles in the fridge for us as well. We met Dennis and Tanya the day we checked in. They were so kind and a genuine smile. They made you feel so comfortable in their rental. We even got the use of a single stall garage to park our bikes during our stay.Their rules book said we didn't need to do any cleaning or stripping of bed linen as they want you to be on vacation, not cleaning, which is so sweet. But we did strip bed linen, took out all garbage, and such as we so appreciated their kindness and generosity that we wanted to give back to them. You will not regret staying at this house. The view from the wonderful back deck looks down on Hill City downtown, has wooded back yard, and is quiet!! Very safe and nice neighborhood.

The owner touched base just prior to arrival. Providing all of our details and answered any questions we had. He was very professional and personable. We all felt welcomed even before we arrived !! The restaurants he recommended had AWESOME food , just as he explained. We will most definitely return.

A gem of a property in Hill City!

10/10 WE LOVED OUR STAY - We took a weeklong trip to South Dakota and decided to stay in Hill City because of it's central location to all of the places we wanted to see. The property itself is fully updated, but with a rustic feel. There is some forest area directly next to the property and we saw wild deer feeding there, and a wide variety of birds! Close proximity to the main street in Hill City (for food: try Lemongrass or the 1885 Steakhouse!) We can't say enough about the place - would give it my highest recommendation!

Perfect Getaway!

We absolutely loved it! It was super clean, gorgeously decorated (just as listed), the bed was very comfortable, the view was wonderful, and I loved the accessibility with my disability. Plus it was close to everything we wanted to see in the Black Hills. We also loved that we didn't have to do dishes or clean before we left which enabled us to enjoy our vacation that much more. (Although we tried to respectfully keep it as clean as possible) The owner was also quick to respond to our questions about check-in, and provided a notebook with everything we needed to know about the property. Thank you so much! We would recommend this place to anyone who wants to visit the Black Hills!

Wonderful Place to Stay

What a beautiful place! Extremely clean and well-stocked with everything we needed. We especially appreciated the coffee! We needed 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms for 2 couples. The place is roomy and the view of the forest is perfect. It was close to all the places we visited and loved the close proximity to the Mikkelson trail. Our host was quick to respond to our questions. We did use the provided pass to the Custer State Park, which was a sweet touch! (Though we didn’t need to use the laundry, it was very nice and stocked with everything.) We would definitely stay again!
