"Definitely accessible via train and walking, but I recommend taking a taxi from the station just because there’s not a lot of room for pedestrians. As far as the hotel goes, the staff are very kind and accommodating, there are several shops on the bottom floor, you’re able to purchase local goods at the front desk and there is an amazing kimono shop one block away called Aridayagofuku where you can buy very high-quality textiles, local jewelry, and seasonal kimono. "We stayed there for 3 nights and were very happy with our choice. You must have a car and its location is not that convenient. But in exchange we got fantastic value to stay in a comfortable resort with excellent breakfast and dinner buffet and onsen facility. The room was large and clean though a little outdated. The evening lounge area also provides free snacks and drinks. We enjoyed having such a comfortable base for exploring the area."

"Our stay at Sanrakuso was comfortable and relaxing. From arrival to departure the staff was friendly and courteous. Our Japanese Western style room was clean, comfortable and had all the modern comforts that anyone would need. The outdoor in-room furo bath was large and had a great view overlooking the Shirarahama beach front area. The meals (breakfast and dinner) were delicious and nicely presented. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a centrally located upscale hotel in the Nanki Shirahama area."

"We really liked this hotel. It was super practical. There is a 24 hour parking directly opposite the hotel lobby. Our room with an incredible view of Wakayama caslte was super spacious and with a good bathroom. The breakfast was very nice and also with a nice view of the castle park. I would definitely stay here again if I return to Wakayama. The only downside was having to check in on a computer self-service instead of having a proper reception check-in."

"Excellent hotel, look forward to staying with them again in future. Due to an early flight I arrived in the morning, but nonetheless the staff were extremely helpful. The lobby was spacious and comfortable, with a wonderful view, and I was able to get some work done while I waited for my room to be ready. The staff informed me as soon as it was, which was very much appreciated, especially what appeared to be a busy holiday period. Room itself was lovely, breakfast was excellent and well-managed despite quite a full hotel. Roof spa bathing area was also very well maintained and enjoyable."
