Lovely view over Blackwood, old country style house, a little isolated but quiet and peaceful

Serenity
Overall we were happy with the stay. The house was isolated and in a beautiful spot with the river and valleys. Breathaking views that I will miss. The house is as just listed, not the cleanest or neatest. Main issue is the red dirt road 4-5km to get to the property. Thankfully it was raining the last few days otherwise your car's back windscreen will be covered. If that is not an issue I would recommend this place to you.
Rustic Charm at Roebank on the Blackwood River Cottage
My time at Roebank on the River Cottage was a peaceful getaway. Julie was so kind to offer to let me come back after my trip got cut short due to work.
The rugged beauty of the landscape with the river so close created a tranquil atmosphere. Chilling on the upstairs balcony felt like staring at a beautiful painting because of the view.
The cottage is old and basic but I found this just added to its charm. I'm a nature lover, so watching the wildlife and feeding the sheep was heartwarming.
Roebank is a rustic gem for a calming farm stay. Can't wait to return to this cozy retreat of rustic charm and friendly hospitality.
Photos on website are nothing like what the property looks now.
Outside vegetation is overgrown and there is sheep poo everywhere.
In side the house is infested with spiders, earwigs and cockroaches, even inside kitchen cupboards and appliances.
The house is poorly maintained, with fly nets falling off and bathroom window glass almost falling out. Light bulbs missing, and lots and lots of spiderwebs everywhere.
Beddings and towels did not smell nice and when washed the water came out brown.
Overall cleanliness was poor.
Location was amazing, and surroundings with beautiful views. Stay was relatively cheap, but definitely not worth it.
Overall rating :
Very good for location
Poor for everything else, not worth the price.
The host was very welcoming and the location is excellent, very quiet and amazing views from the balcony, living room and main bedroom. A little bit of extra cleaning of the space would have been great
Stunning views makes this place special. Host is very pleasant and helpful. As advertised it's a no-frills place. Could do with a spring-clean/declutter and a good cob-webbing. Comfortable beds, plenty of space to relax, beautiful scenery and peaceful.
Spectacular veiw and location. Good amount of kitchen equipment. Basic amenities. The house needed a really good clean, the carpets were scary and the lower level smelt of mould. I did appreciate the ability for 5 adults to stay under one roof. Thank you.

Our host Julie was very helpful with providing directions into the farm and warm & friendly to deal with. We found it quite straightforward to find and it’s a simple 10 mins or so from the town. The 5 stars is for the location. The fantastic river views, rolling hills and bird life was a refreshing return to nature all enjoyable from the generous sized deck. It would be hard to beat this view for the price. Kayaking on a river all to ourselves was awesome as you can enjoy more bird life along the banks. It’s just quiet and peaceful and you might need to be a ‘no frills’ type to ignore the nature within the house. We will definitely be coming back.
We loved the property and was perfect for our needs. The owner was lovely and had great communication ensuring we knew how to find the property as we were arriving after dark.
Would absolutely book again
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Absolutely loved the views and birdlife. We already miss it.
The road leading to the farm has breathtaking views, even on misty mornings.

Country cottage
Property needs lots of attention. Cupboards need to be cleaned out and excess clutter removed. Position great but cottage very rundown.
Communication with the host was very limited.Instructions to the residence was very confusing. On arrival the house was very disappointing. Everything looked tired, dusty with cobwebs and spiders on the outdoor furniture. Considering a 150 cleaning fee is added to your bill the standard was very below average. Such a pity as the view from the substandard balcony was amazing However we Would not recommend this home stay experience to anyone

Absolutely Awesome river views
Host was very good at responding to anything and everything
Quirky house - way too much random stuff. Needs a good clear out
This is the second time we visit HESTER BROOK. It’s simply amazing and we had lots of fun out there. Also the Julie is such a friendly person to deal with. Hope to visit in the future too. Thanks
Quaint farmhouse in a picturesque location with the river on the doorstep. We enjoyed a very relaxing and peaceful stay at Roebank, taking in all the sights and sounds of nature. The accommodation was clean and cosy with everything we needed and host, Julie, was very accommodating and easy to contact/communicate with. The huge open fireplace downstairs was an absolute dream! Winner winner chicken dinner!
Great country experience with spectacular view, but the cleanliness was terrible and the property has a strong odour.

Not 28km from Nannup as stated
Julie the owner was lovely and very accommodating.
Only issues was that it stated 28km from Nannup which maybe true for a crow. Please change on the listing to 54km by car
