We had a brilliant stay here. The owners were lovely and very helpful, giving us great recommendations on where to go in Hermanus and also for our next stop. The location was brilliant, with lots within walking distance. The room was also very comfortable and clean. As a bonus the breakfast was great, with lots of choice and very tasty!

We only stayed for one night but had a wonderful stay and wish we could have stayed longer. Great hosts! We also loved their 2 dogs, Pepper and Harvey. We were missing our pups back home and were happy to get our doggy fix!

Our stay at The Penguino was absolutely wonderful. Our hosts were warm, engaging, and full of good humour — they made us feel instantly welcome and shared lots of great local tips. The accommodations were spotless and beautifully maintained, and the breakfast was nothing short of exceptional — easily the best we had during our vacation. We couldn’t recommend The Penguino more highly!

The breakfast was just what we needed. Stephan was a friendly and enjoyable host at Breakfast. Our hostess (sorry I have forgotten her name) was wonderful. My partner had being having a digestion issue prior to our arrival, and our hostess generously provided some over the counter medication which was very helpful. The property location is close to the center with many dining options. The scenery in the area is stunning. Highly recommend staying at The Penguino.

Vey convenient guest house.

One night stop over in between Plettenberg & Cape Town. Enabled us to have a half day tour around the area which was well worth while. Everything was as described & more than adequate. Breakfast was superb!

We loved our stay here. Stephan and Nikki are perfect hosts. The guest house is clean and very comfortable. It is right on the cliff path and close enough to walk into town. The breakfast is also amazing,cooked by Stephan. Couldn't have stayed anywhere better.

The host Nikki is outstanding and very helpful. The room size is good and comfortable. Warm electric blanket. Nikki helped us with our Whale trip but unfortunately it got canceled at last minute due to bad weather. Will stay here again without hesitation

Absolutely lovely property in easy safe walking distance of Hermanus centre. Safe secure parking within locked boundary. The owner was really friendly and helpful, with lots of advice of things to do and places to eat and drink. Comfortable clean accommodation and with a nice little swimming pool, although we were too busy to use it! Absolutely first class breakfast. Would definitely recommend and use again.

We'll be back!!

This is in the top 3 of the best value for money accommodation we've ever stayed in! Why? The location, the welcome, the room, the SUPERB breakfast, the local knowledge and advice, the electric bikes we hired. And in particular the way hosts Stefan and Nikki interacted with us and the other guests, somehow bringing us all together which enhanced the stay even more.We made some great contacts with people who had stayed at Penguino previously .... which speaks volumes in itself. Hermanus is a lovely, chilled-out place and when we go back we will be staying here again.

Perfect place to stay in Hermanus

We had a wonderful experience at Penguino Guest House. Stefan and Nikki were very welcoming and Stefan had lots of great local suggestions. The breakfast was fantastic. The guest house is just steps away from the Hermanus cliff path and great whale-watching. This is the place to stay in Hermanus!

Would highly recommend the Penguino. The hosts, Stefan and his wife Nikki are wonderful and really go out of their way to make your stay easy and comfortable.
