Great service!! The view can’t be beaten on a good day - we were fortunate to see Whales even during the off season. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable of the building history. The co-owners are so accommodating and assisted me with ease when I’d booked on the wrong date via a third-party website. They were kind enough to include a free upgrade too. WiFi was steady, bed was extremely large and very comfortable

I would really recommend Esplanade as a place to stay in central Hermanus. The apartment was very comfortable and superbly equipped. It is also ideally located. The staff were really friendly and efficient.

Beautiful apartment and very clean. Great communication on day of check-in. Both owners used WhatsApp to message regularly so it meant if we needed anything or had questions we could communicate that way. Great location and lovely pool area. Washing machine in apartment came in very handy.

Newly renovated property but unlike all nice hotels in SA, they have no back up generator so you are very much impacted by load sharing every day for 3 hours with no electricity, no WiFi, etc. Sharing here because it’s not transparent in the hotel description nor the correspondence they send you before you stay there. Also there is no housekeeping - you will have the same sheets and towels and untidy room for many days and need to complain to Expedia to even get them to give you a fresh towel. Nobody to help at front desk, no taxis, need to go to another hotel nearby for anything.

Exceptional service and great stay
The facilities are modern, new , spotlessly clean and well-equipped. The Location is central and close to the main restaurants and cliff-path. What stands out the most however, is the friendly and professional staff, who assist without even being asked and anticipate every wish. Most impressive and made us feel extremely welcome. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time. Every single employee we encountered was kind and helpful. Special thanks to William and the Manager who helped us when we had a little car incident. Both were calm and reassuring. We have actually changed our plans to return on this same holiday.
