Danny and Helen are extremely welcoming, nothing is too much trouble (even helped to fix my car) ((be careful reversing in and out of drive, can be quite tight)). "Firstly can I say the staff were fabulous and very accommodating! It was the hotel itself that’s in need of some tlc. I paid extra for a nicer room, my friend had booked the more basic room so was interesting to see that both our rooms were identical except for the decor. Our room (142) had a horrendous smell of sewerage coming from the bathroom. The hotel must be aware of this as there was a plug in air freshener to disguise the smell in our room but not in our friends room where one wasn’t required. The tv in our room didn’t work. It would switch on but nothing else would happen. I didn’t inform staff as we were out most the day and only stayed one night. Also the shower in our room was scolding hot. I went to wash my hair and eventually gave up as I couldn’t stick the heat. Obviously turned the tap to cold and this made zero difference. Again I didn’t mention as we only stayed the one night. Shame as it had potential to be a lovely stay. Beds were comfy!"

"Browns bar and restaurant was excellent. Breakfast I though mediocre, nothing special. Room for the price I found to be rather small and basic. The hotel promotes meeting rooms for breakfast and yet the room has no desk to work on. Even Travellodge has that. A minor thing but annoying. Toilet flush was behind the seat, therefore the lid wouldn't stay up. A pain if you're a bloke"

"I was mildly disappointed with my stay at Vale Resort. The disappointment started when I messaged the hotel through hotels.com where I made the booking and no one responded for over 24hrs. Someone should be monitoring this email address. So after no one replied, I called up the hotel more than a day later, I could not get an answer and instead got an automated message asking me to leave details. By that afternoon, still no one had called me back. So I called again and did get an answer this time. The next day, I also got a call back.. but given the amount this place costs, I would expect much better communication standards and much less hassle for me. The advert for the hotel also currently states on hotels.com that 'free valet parking' is available. When I arrived and asked about this, the lady on the desk sort of smirked at me and said no such thing was available. I explained that I believed the listing on hotels.com detailed this service and she said she would check. But a few days later the advert still incorrectly lists this service(I took screen shots). I don't really care about valet parking, but I think the hotel should take a lot more seriously the fact that they have a misleading listing. The spa was ok.. though it was hard to get a go in the hot tubs due to a couple of groups just camped out there for a very long period. I was disappointed no robes were provided in the room, I have never experienced a spa in this country that does not provide robes."
