"Lively big rooms with very comfortable beds. The open plan living area has incredible countryside views across to the Cheviot hills. We even managed to have breakfast outside on the terrace (in February sunshine) which was wonderful. The kitchen is unheated so it was very cold, but that wouldn't put me off renting it again. Lovely to find fresh coffee and locally made jam on arrival. Has a good parking space right outside the cottage. Visitors should be aware that its a tight turn into a narrow alley to access the property so large cars may strggle. Overall, a great location, stunning views and cosy home-from-home base for exploring Northumberland, the borders and beyond. "

"This property was terribly dirty. The bathroom stank of urine , the place was full of cobwebs, windows hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. The crockery was dirty and broken. Only two wine glasses and small glasses even though it was a three sleeping accommodation. The bedding, towels and dressing gowns were off white and stained. The rats kept us awake all night. The BBQ racks were left on the grass dirty and the hot tub hadn’t been cleaned just laced with chlorine which turned my jewellery black and I’ve had to stay off work today because of the amount of chlorine. I don’t think this is all down to the owner because while we were there the cleaners came to clean the next lodge. They were in there just over 30 minutes and they didn’t clean the hot tub. Such a shame as we both work so hard and this was supposed to be a treat for my birthday!"
