Hellyer Gorge State Reserve Tours and Activities

Tha bed sheets were white and looked clean. The walls were freshly painted. The toilet cracked stained and the plastic seat and systern were fit only for a prison. Being very old missfitting and the plastic crazed the cystern leaked and had to be Turner off to allow sleeping the windows x2 only one was fitted and very poorly with flywire. I booked because it had a 4 star rating. We were so disappointed when we arrived. It was truly a low point in our stay in Tasmania. The problem 😕 was the rating of 4 stars totally misleading. We would have cancelled the booking if it was possible. As a matter of interest. We only slept there. We left at first light and returned very late. Preferring to walk and spend as much time away from this place as possible. The savings on accommodation in our view are not worth the dissapointment

I do not normally post reviews but felt it deemed some feedback .The property interior was not visually clean with broken side entry door,stains on the elevator and hallway carpets . In the room there were stained ceiling tiles and bathroom ceilng was falling down . Noise level containment between floors was poor .Reception was closed overnight so there was no option for complaints to be addressed. Our stay was 5 nights and housekeeping did not enter our room once during the timeline. Overall a very poor experience.

All Reception staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a basic Continental variety. Cut up fruit was good but takeaway fresh fruit was aged and not inviting. Parking was available but at a cost of $25 pn which was well worth it being so centrally located a 7 min approx walk to the harbour and Salamanca markets. The bed in our room was not so comfortable and very squeaky. There was considerable traffic noise from Macquarie St and the air brakes of trucks being heard throughout the night and early mornings. This was from our room that fronted Macquarie St…other rooms may not be as affected as ours was. Overall The Macquarie Manor was very conveniently situated for our stay in Hobart and once again the 4 or so different staff at Reception whom we met over our 5 night stay were fantastic and did a great job.
