Summary:
Enjoy your morning coffee on the front porch and experience the silence and peaceful mountain views. While we do have internet and all of today's modern conveniences, most guests choose to connect with nature in ways you simply can't in your normal world. The Appalachian Trail, Helen, GA, and beautiful waterfall hikes are a fun adventure and less than 5 miles away.
The Space: Enjoy long range views on the front porch in the hot tub, take a nap or read a book in the hammock. Start up a corn hole tournament or play pickleball all while enjoying the tranquility of the national forest. There is plenty of room to spread out inside as well!
The cabin features 2 family rooms and a gorgeous kitchen with live edge Walnut countertops. The terrace level family room is great for kids to hang out, play video games, or watch a movie when you're in for the evening.
Need a place to work for a few minutes? There are two desks in the terrace level family room area that are perfect for what you need.
Bison View Lodge has a seasonal walking trail that leads you to a babbling mountain creek. The road outside the gate is a great morning walk as well. The entire property is fenced and gated.
The Neighborhood: Hilltop Cabin is located just 4.5 miles from Downtown Helen at the Bison View Lodge Corporate & Family Retreat Center, North Georgia's most beautiful micro resort that hosts company retreats, mountain destination weddings, ministry retreats, and family reunions.
The neighbors you ask? Well that would be hundreds of acres of untouched US Forest.
We feel we have the best location in North Georgia. Just 4.5 miles to Georgia's #1 visited resort town - the Alpine Village known as Helen. Tube the "Hooch" as they say or eat some great food in town. Ride the Georgia Mountain Coaster. Helen is also home to many festivals including a genuine Alpine Octoberfest from September to November. Two state parks are within 30 minutes and the Chattahoochee National Forest is our neighbor.
If you want something a little more sophisticated consider taking a tour of Georgia's Winery Highway, exploring the NAPA Valley of the Southeast US. There are 14 vineyards within 60 minutes of the cabin.
Rent a boat, jet ski, or other watercraft on Lake Chatuge, just a 35 minute drive from the lodge.
The waterfalls in this part of Georgia are some of the nation's best and you don't want to miss Ana Ruby Falls. There are numerous other hidden waterfall hikes to find in this area as well.
Bring your ATV and explore many of the area's off-road adventures.
Helen is also home to a genuine Alpine Octoberfest from September to November. Two state parks are within 30 minutes and the Chattahoochee National Forest is our neighbor.

CLEANING & LAUNDRY PRACTICES: A luxury experience deserves the finest care when it comes to cleaning and laundry. Our cleaning process sets the standard in the mountains! Did you know that most cabin owners in North Georgia don't wash the blankets on the bed every time a new guest comes? . How do we know? We asked dozens of cleaners over the past few months and that's what they told us. We feel you deserve exquisite care when it comes to cleanliness.
At Bison Lodge, we launder all the linens, including bed blankets every single time we change over guests. Even better, we use a commercial laundry service that uses exceptionally hot water to make sure your linens are beautiful, soft, and most importantly very clean. We think YOU are worth it!
We also use high quality Alen air purifiers that take dust, mold, and allergens out of the air. If the mountain air is pure, shouldn't you expect the same from the inside air? We discovered these fantastic devices during the pandemic for a family member who had a chronic illness, and we've been using them in our properties, and our personal home, ever since.
Interaction with Guests: We are always available by phone or AirBnB messenger.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cabin. Everything about this cabin is top notch. The outside fireplace, porches, corn hole boards it was the perfect weekend getaway. The views are breathtaking. We most definitely will be staying here again.
The cabin was perfectly cleaned! It was stocked with everything we needed along with so many other things. Cornhole boards and games also. We loved this cabin and will definitely be back!
The cabin was meticulous, incredibly clean. It was well-stocked with clear labels and instructions for everything. Terri was available for anything we needed. I would 100% recommend staying here, don’t even think twice about it, just book it!
This was an incredible spot for our family getaway. The communication with the manager and owners was spot-on, and they provided everything we could have wanted to make our stay comfortable and easy. I can’t say enough about the cabin! From the front porch you can enjoy a beautiful view, and then walk inside to a lovely mountain getaway with bedrooms and bathrooms perfectly arranged for comfort and privacy. We enjoyed the games, outdoor fireplace, hot tub and just sitting on the porch together. The Hilltop Cabin is a beautiful place in a wonderful mountain setting, and we loved our time there, making memories with our family. We look forward to going back!
We were the first to stay at this property. So, there were some teething issues such as hot tub not being installed etc. However, Terry was amazing and went above and beyond to help us to have a great vacation. He made sure we had internet without which planning activities would have been harder (Though my Tmobile worked in the cabin with 5G!).
The last 3 miles in gravel road takes 15-20 minutes in a winding mountain road with may pot holes. But the trip was worth it. Our family including the kids had great time playing outside and making s'more etc. Overall a great experience!
Wow!
Front start to finish. It was a wonderful experience.
The drive to the home is spectacular and scary at the same time.
The property manager was on site for arrival and everything is labeled in the home. We were also able to get in touch with them when needed.
It was more than enough space for our family of 13 people total. The kitchen is wee
lol equipped and there are plenty of clean linen and towels.
Outside was a bit too cold for us at 4 degrees! but when it warmed up by the end of our trip, the scenery was gorgeous!
Highly recommend this cabin for a group getaway.
We take our kids to Helen each year for their fall break, this is our 4th year. We’ve stayed in the Helen village in previous years, between a cabin, hotel & condo on the river. This year we decided to book a cabin outside of the Helen Alpine village area, and stayed at the Hilltop Cabin at Bison View Lodge. It’s only less than 5 miles (3 miles of it is a dirt road up the mountain)…I was worried about that part but it was totally fine & we enjoyed the scenery! The cabin is gorgeous, the bedrooms are spacious, the mattresses are really comfortable memory foam, 2 separate living room areas (which was great for us moms traveling with 8 teenagers), and outdoor activity/amenities galore- fire pit, hottub, corn hole, hiking trails, comfy porch seating to sip coffee and enjoy the AMAZING view. The sunrise each morning was pretty stunning!! Terry was so helpful and accommodating, close by & willing to help with whatever we needed. Overall, we all loved it and said we would book this cabin each year!! Thanks for a great fall break in Helen!
