It is an older property with friendly staff and is dog-friendly. The room was clean and reasonably spacious. The bed was adequate but not the most comfortable, the shower never got more than "just warm," and the walls were very thin with lots of muffled chatter. It was one of the more economical properties in town that was pet-friendly.

The toilet was used in my room upon check in. Before then I had changed rooms because the shower had water in it and seemed to have been used and there was hair in the sink.

The bed was broken and the covers were stained. Need a chiropractor after sleeping in the bed two nights. Loud noisy neighbors. Cigarette butts allover the steps and grounds outside.

When I arrived, they told me they had a reservation for only 1 room even though I had my reservation email that confirmed 2 rooms. The desk clerk was less than reasonable and just kept telling us how bad Expedia is and that it was my fault that the room was not booked because I used Expedia. I kept trying to show her my reservation email and letting her know the name of the person that would be in the other room, but she wanted nothing to do with it. She just kept repeating how bad Expedia is and blaming me for using them. She found a room for us anyhow so we took it. When we got into the room, there was animal feces on the floor, the toilet seat was broken, the TV would not come on, and the electrical outlets looked like they had been put on by a 6 year old. When I tried calling the office to let her know the condition of the room, I found many of the buttons on the phone were missing. Fortunately, I was able to get her in there and she agreed the room was garbage. Again, she found us another room, but not the king room. Again, obviously cleaning and maintenance are not priorities there, but we had wasted enough time, so we just took it. The only chair in the room was broken, the door would not properly shut unless we fussed with it for several minute (not very secure), the freezer had inches of frozen ice and no freezer door (unusable), the room had obviously been cleaned, but not thoroughly, and the bedding was covered with stains.

We won’t ever book here or ever book for more then one night. We had booked for 2 night stay feb 20&21/24 We drove from Canada a 2 day drive. I tried emailing through Expedia Feb 20 that we wouldn’t make it that day because of the drive being longer from the traffic. The virtual agent couldn’t understand my message so I called Red Roof inn. There was no answer or answering machine. We tried calling again in the morning Feb 21 again no answer. When we arrived in the evening Feb 21 we were told because we didn’t call Feb 20 they considered us a No Show so they cancelled our 2 days! So after charging the 2 days we could pay again for another night if we wanted?? We didn’t want our money back for they 2 day stay - we just wanted to stay for the night we had previously paid for. We will avoid ever booking a hotel stay at a Red Roof Inn again and that’s our recommendation we will tell our family and friends.

Nice place but room cleaning is not a priority.
I booked a King jacuzzi room. Check-in was fine. The employee was great. However, when I went to use the in-room jacuzzi there was barely enough hot water to fill it a third of the way. Once I finally had enough water in the tub, when I turned on the jets, lots of black particles came out. Which means they are not deep-cleaning the jacuzzi tubs. So when you use one, there is no telling what you are sitting in. For this reason, I will not return.

2nd time my wife and i have stayed at this property and did not disappoint. We live close to helen and its a frequent last minute gettaway for years. The king room was clean, comfortable, quiet, staff was great quickly solving problem with new tv service (which is great). No complaints about anything. We have stayed at almost every property in Helen and cant beat this as far as a great stay for half the price of the others.

Nice place to stay.
This was our 2nd at this Red Roof and again it was very clean and comfortable. First time with pet and no issues. Staff was very friendly and sociable. Only a 1 night but would stay longer when able.

Location is great ! Could be cleaner btu i understand it is high traffic and people don't clean up after themselves but trash cans were over flowing, breakfast was very minimal and not always coffee, Room was clean, warm and no complaints but no deadlock on the doors so you just have to trust the door is safe, there were many loud guests but guessing that is to be expected with time of year. Staff was friendly and easy check in and out

Put us in a room to start that the TV wouldn't shut off and had obviously not been serviced. They did make that up by putting us in a better room. The staff was friendly enough, especially in the evening. The morning staff was nice but obviously knew nothing of the area because when asked, he didn't mention where's a good place to eat, things to do in Helen, instead suggesting video games, arcade places, etc. Such a sad tale of the new generation. If not for the staff being very nice, this place would be a 2 star at best. Bed was very uncomfortable.

The location was perfect for our stay. The staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. The hotel is older and needs some updates and repairs. The room is comfortable and mostly clean. The hardwood floor was dirty. Needed to be mopped.
