"This hotel is easy walking distance to the main shops and transportation to Ani, as well as the Kars Castle and the train station. It also had surprisingly fast wifi, and a nice breakfast spread! The staff doesn't speak much (if any) English, and people were smoking in the main lobby (and rooms), but all in all I enjoyed my stay. "

The location is not bad, about 15minutes walk to the castle and less than 5 mins to the main street where you can find lot of shops and food. The manager Suat is a friendly and funny man, although he can’t speak English. Google translate would solve the communication problem. "

"Deniz’s place is great to stay in if you are very social, want to meet locals in Kars and/or love dogs. Deniz invited us to many outings with her friends in Kars, including dinner at her place, an outing to Ani and coffee with her friends and we were happy to be included and to get a taste of local life in Kars. She’s also a big big dog lover—she’s adopted a lot of stray dogs and they live happily in her garden and in her apartment upstairs. (If you don’t like dogs though, don’t worry—the bottom floor is for guests and the dogs don’t come in there)
The guesthouse was well-furnished. We had an enormous private bathroom and there is a kitchen and washing machine specially for guests. Located in the center of Kars, 10 min walk from the bus station and pretty much any other place you would want to go to in Kars.

All of the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and at home. I don’t remember the name of each one of them but they were all professional and nice always ready to help and assist. Miss Melisa, Ebru and Mr Erhan were extremely helpful with everything! Oh not to forget the breakfast was so delicious!
What truly sets Katerina Sarayi apart for me is Niko (the cat) and the outstanding service!
