Great and comfortable house with beautiful views
We really enjoyed our stay. The house is clean and very comfortable, in a very quiet community. There are lots of fun little details in the furnishing and decoration of the house that we appreciated. Our only tiny nit: the kitchen is short of a couple of things that aren't on the host's list of items to bring.

New Year’s Retreat
We had a lovely time. The four of us (two middle aged parents and two adult daughters) spent four nights over New Year’s weekend and had a thoroughly relaxing time. The canin was beautifully furnished and had all the amenities (we cooked in 3 of the 4 nights) and the views of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains were among the most lovely we’ve seen.

Good Time
Great Stay but needs improvement. Just needs a few updates like the frying pans, grill, and coffee pot. The couch in living room very uncomfortable, the couch downstairs smells like body odor, but had a great stay with spectacular views, well stocked, almost perfect other than the stink bug infestation which we were told about beforehand so we just dealt with it. Still had a great time and would like stay again.

Amazing Relaxation!!!
We enjoyed the “at home” feel with all necessities at hand while soaking up the spectacular views! The pool/ping pong table was a big hit for fun! Definitely looking forward to going back!

Beautiful Cabin with Lots of Panoramic Views
Picturesque views. Great location for hikes. Really loved hiking Stone Mountain. The summit was the best hike. Did run into a rattle snake on the mountain. But I was in his habitat. He gave me good warning and I made the best of that warning. Loved the views and the cabin. Hopefully will return next year. Thanks to the owners for their assistance.

Mountain Splendor
The mountaintop cabin was spacious with all the comforts you’ll need. It was extremely clean and well stocked. The views from the deck were incredible. The fire pit was a great bonus. Lots of great hiking and wineries in the area.

Fun and games
My friend and I enjoyed a quiet getaway to this lovely cabin. Although the weather didn’t comply, we enjoyed time playing games and a trip to Roaring River Winery for lunch. The house is beautiful and well maintained. We would love to return again.

Motorcycle Wedding
One or our friends wanted a motorcycle wedding in the mountains. The whole event, including this secluded cabin, wineries nearby and curvy roads, exceeded the bride's expectations. Morning coffees and evening sundowners were the best part of the day. Wonderful cabin and fantastic views. Everyone said they wanted to come again in the Fall.

Very well kept cabin with lots of thoughtful details, such as extra USB ports at the kitchen counter. Great views all round. Every switch was well marked. Hosts were wonderful and quick to respond to all our questions.

Great Family Cabin
We really enjoyed our stay at Stone Mountain Serenity. The view is why you rent this cabin but it is also secluded and comfortable. The kids loved the pool table. The gas remote controlled fireplace is very nice and convenient. The king bed and twin beds in the kids room were very comfortable also. We went to Stone Mountain Stae Park which is literally right around the corner from the gated entrance and it was spectacular!! This is definitely a cabin you should rent if you want a great view, secluded feel and comfortable family friendly amenities.

Amazing stay
We rented this place for my best friends 50th bday. We had all plans just to chill ALL weekend and it was a complete success. No worries at this place. There was 8 of us & we all where comfortable & roomy everywhere we went within the property. We had a small hiccup around 1030pm during our stay & by 830 Saturday morning everything was fixed. So amazing response by the host of this amazing place.. We thank you for opening up your home as a rental.

Unjustified Extra Fees and Dirty Cabin: Avoid this VRBO Host
I recently stayed at this cabin and overall, our stay was pleasant despite some issues. The cabin was located in a beautiful area, with great views and easy access to outdoor activities. The beds were comfortable and the living and entertainment areas were spacious. However, upon arrival, we found that the cabin was not as clean as we expected (even though there is already a cleaning added to your bill). All utensils were quite dirty and had food remnants on them, which we had to wash before using (this predisposed us to thoroughly wash any other kitchenware before use). The cabin was infested with stink bugs and ladybugs, particularly in the kitchen and bathroom. We had to spend a good hour each day cleaning and throwing out bugs before going to bed to ensure we and our two small children had an undisturbed night's sleep. Additionally, the master bathroom was dirty and we had to purchase clorox and cleaning supplies to clean it. The water heater also did not work one of the days and we had to shower with cold water, which was not comfortable since our stay was during winter. To top it all of and despite the heavy cleaning we underwent from bathrooms to kitchenware and utensils (even through we were supposed to have received a clean cabin as per the cleaning fees included) I was extremely disappointed to learn that the host charged us an additional cleaning fee claiming that they incurred an additional 2 hours of cleaning because we left “strawberry tops” on the floor and some furniture (slightly) out of place. We left the property in a much better condition that when we arrived. Either the host or the cleaning crew is lying and over exaggerating simple matter that do not warrant an extra fee. I would recommend other renters to be cautious of this host as they may add extra charges without proper justification. Despite these issues, our stay was pleasant and we enjoyed the beautiful surroundings.

PLEASE READ THE 200+ FIVE STAR REVIEWS. I don't even know where to start with this review... This was a very disrespectful guest who first off had way more than the maximum number of 8 guests staying at the cabin, which explains the lack of hot water. The cabin was left very messy, furniture was rearranged and check-out instructions were not followed (I have pictures). I personally was at the cabin before and after their stay and can personally attest that all of her claims are false. My cleaning service is amazing...the best I have had in the 15 years renting the cabin. I have only held security deposit money four times since renting the cabin in 2008. This crew is on my DO NOT RENT list.

Very conveniently located to Stone Mountain and State Park but definitely recommend packing your groceries or anything you might need before arriving, the area overall is very secluded. What a WONDERFUL Cabin!
We had an awesome stay at this beautiful cabin! The view was so amazing as well as the cabin itself! Plenty of room and things to do with our family. The cabin is lovely inside, the kitchen is well equipped and had plenty of spices, etc. which was awesome because we cooked every night, and it was super to have the firepit outside. Feels Like Home
This was our third stay at Stone Mountain Serenity, and it never disappoints. This year, we booked our preferred week six months in advance, and it was well worth the wait. The fall colors were at, or slightly past, their peak when we arrived, and the north-facing view was every bit as spectacular as we remembered. The cabin itself is well-stocked and immaculately clean. The supply of split firewood is a great perk, although we were only able to make use of it once, due to rainy conditions. Forced to stay inside quite a bit, we took full advantage of the gas fireplace and the various streaming services provided. After three visits, I can honestly say that the cabin feels like home (if only!). We plan on returning next year and I'm fighting the temptation to start a countdown already. I'm not sure that any property has a more fitting name than Stone Mountain Serenity, and I encourage anyone needing some peace and quiet in their lives to book their stay now.

Simply a terrific cabin
Lots of natural light with a jaw dropping view of Doughton park mountains and valleys. With blue skies, floating clouds and soaring hawks, the cabin was a delightful place to be on any of the 3 levels. Perfect place for family time. Even if we were all over 70! The owners were available instantly when we locked ourselves out….whoops. Would love to return with members of the younger generation.

This property! Absolutely gorgeous!
This host thought everything through to make this a comfortable stay! The perfect place for the girl’s annual trip. We had the best time just relaxing, listening to music and catching up! The view on the deck is beautiful! Hiking at Stone Mountain was a blast! We hope to come back real soon!

Beautiful cabin indoors and out. The view was terrific and we had meals and drinks on the deck each night. The fire pit was great for hanging out by the fire and having smores. There can be a lot of annoying small bugs so we bought some of the canned fog-style sprays and they worked great for hanging out on the deck and around the fire pit. We'd definitely go back if we end up in the area again (we are on a driving vacation from Texas). Stone mountain is a must-do. Brian was super responsive to a quest we had which we really appreciated. Secluded (so plan your grocery runs)and some gravel roads as others have mentioned but if my low-to-the-ground sports can make it I'd assume pretty much any car will be fine.

The house is beautiful and the view is amazing. We all had enough space and enjoyed the long weekend. The property is pretty remote, so it takes a long time to get to the store or anywhere else, but is fairly close to Stone Mountain State Park which is great for hiking. We did have an issue with having to rewash almost every dish as those that were put away in the kitchen were still quite dirty.

Stunning setting
This was out first Vrbo experience, and we loved it! The cabin is beautifully designed and decorated, spacious, and comfortable for three couples plus a toddler and a baby. Great deck and floor to “cathedral” ceiling windows for enjoying the stunning view. Three levels provide privacy for separate families, but open floor plan on main level made it easy for everyone to be together. I hope to return next year!

The other family we stayed with met the owner upon arrival and stated he was very helpful in finding the nearest grocery store. I got a little nervous when gps told us to turn down the 1 lane gravel road but it was fantastic.

Beautiful Blue Ridge cabin
This was one of the most relaxing places we have ever stayed. From the magnificent view of the mountains to the game room/man cave that our two 18-year-old boys spent most of their time in, everything was perfect. My wife and I look forward to going back with family or friends in the near future. Autumn would be a wonderful time to return.

A beautiful mountain getaway
High on a mountain and secluded but also in a safe neighborhood. State parks just a couple miles away. Rivers and waterfalls so close by. The large cabin has everything you need from entertainment to the fully stocked kitchen. Will rent again. Thank you.

Gal Friends Getaway 2022
Our group of gal pals enjoyed everything about this beautiful cabin. We began each day cleansing our souls rocking on the porch drinking in the wispy mountain clouds. Our bodies cried a little but needed the wooded trails. Loved the king sized bed...it was SO comfy. We found every promised amenity. The cabin was clean and comfortable. Property as described. View is better then you could ever imagine. Quiet & serene. No noise. Just birds singing and the wind in the trees. Completely beautiful! Kitchen is well stocked and the owner was great with communication! Close to Stone Mountain and we also visited Grayson highlands state park which was great! Don’t hesitate to book this one! It’s a gem for sure.

Serenity Now
Very awesome home rental in North Carolina mountains about 45 minutes NW of Elkin, NC. Nice private safe and gated mountain community. High quality home which is in excellent condition and very well maintained and clean. Beautiful view of nearby mountain range. Lots of local wineries nearby. Plenty of hiking options from easy to very challenging. Enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

We loved our stay! It was so roomy and the view was beautiful. We hiked around the property and took a day trip to Mt. Airy (Mayberry). We loved having a game room area for playing games and watching Elite 8 Basketball Tournament leaving the upstairs quiet and peaceful. We even got snow Saturday morning ❤️

This is by far one of the nicer cabins we have stayed at. First, you can hardly see any other houses - it is so private, quite and peaceful. We loved the layout of the cabin, beautiful views, spacious, plenty of closet and pantry space, ping pong table, small trails right off the property, fire pit. Just can't say enough good things. We absolutely loved it and would love to come back. Only thing is I was a little nervous with the drive (we have a van so not a 4 wheel drive), but we were fortunate and the weather was perfect. Had it snowed it could have been an issue.

Our family had a great experience at this property. You could go in a few directions for hikes and Stone Mountain State Park is less than 30 minutes to the main gate. House was perfect for us - boys loved the ping pong and pool table downstairs. Many other games and classic DVDs also. Upstairs bedroom was nicely isolated from the rest of the house. Kitchen has everything you need. Views were excellent! Was a real bonus to already have wood on the property. Definitely recommend!
