"This is an amazing apartment in Weimar, which is such a great and little known (outside of Germany) gem of a city. The architecture, history and dining is top tier, only the Weimar University Library is a modern, brutalist eyesore."

"Great location for exploring Weimar’s key sights, and right by a bus hub for buses to the station or other places (such as Buchenwald).
We arrived very early but they had our room ready and were happy for us to access it as soon as we arrived. Room was a good size and comfortable. "

"The hotel is very lovely, with comfortable beds and a great breakfast. The hotel personnel is very friendly and forthcoming. All museums of interest are walkable, and so are wonderful restaurants. "

"TL;DR: rooms are dated but very comfortable, breakfast is incredible, location is great for exploring Weimar.
Now the full version: check-in was easy and fast, staff was very friendly. We were amused that the hotel doesn’t use keycards but actual keys still. That in fact resonates with the room decor and overall aesthetic: lots of dark wood and carpet with gold details, giving it a dated feel. It isn’t, however, a bad room at all. Size was more than perfect for my husband and I, and the room was fully equipped with all the necessary amenities, including slippers and bathrobes. Shower was on the okay side but the bathroom is definitely spacious. Be aware that at least in our case the double bed was actually two beds pushed together, but they were very comfortable nonetheless. The breakfast buffet was a hands-down winner, though, with ample variety and fresh ingredients. You can tell the hotel and the staff put a lot of effort into all the details, such as the lovely cards with various quotes that you could find in your room or on your breakfast table. We did use the parking and valet service for an additional fee and th parking is conveniently located behind the building. Finally, location-wise this hotel is fantastic. We got to explore all the sights and the Christmas market on foot. I would definitely recommend the stay. "
"This is a small hotel and the front desk has limited hours, but getting there late is not a problem. A quick call will give you the code that allows you to get your key from a secure slot. (If your German is not up to snuff, note that the code starts with a *, followed by four numerals, and then #.)"
Stroll through this vast and peaceful riverside park, which contains three historic houses with ties to a famous writer, a well-known composer and a duke.
Appreciate the collection in this historic Rococo-style library, which holds around one million books, including many rare volumes and precious first editions.
