"My wife loves Carmel and Monterey. We used to get a high-end room in Carmel, but then decided to put our money into the experience and not just the room. On the recommendation of our daughter, we tried the Stargazer. Very reasonably priced, and the most important thing is that the beds are super-comfortable. That's important for old farts like us. My wife loves the pool and the hot tub. It's centrally located, and within easy reach of pretty much everything on the peninsula. That's our history. As for the details of my most recent stay, it was top-notch as usual. Isabel, the housekeeper, did a quick but thorough job on the room every single day of my three-day stay, making the bed, removing trash, etc. And the room smelled nice, too. I also want to give due credit to Jennifer, the front-desk clerk, for putting me on the ground floor when I asked. I often bring my e-bike to Monterey, as I like to ride the 17-Mile Drive to Carmel and back, starting at Dennis the Menace park, and on down the bike trail past Fisherman's Wharf, Cannery Row, Pacific Grove, and Asilomar. Trying to lug a heavy e-bike up stairs would be a pain, but the Stargazer staff makes things easy and friendly. We've stayed here at least a dozen times, and have no plans to change. Thank you!"

"We LOVE this hotel & it's staff! We have stayed here on several occasions & will continue to visit it in the future. YOU SHOULD TOO! Awesome location right in the heart of Cannery Row - 1 block from The Monterey Bay Aquarium; a staff that is very efficient and friendly; many room types & options - like gas fireplaces (it can get cold in Monterey), very romantic -- great beds & the pillows are like clouds; full spa; a restaurant that is one of the better hotel restaurants we've encountered in our travels; & finally, it's right next to the original Bubba Gump restaurant - talk about atmosphere! I could go on and on but the fun is in discovering it for yourself - I RARELY take the time to write reviews, good or bad... but I would recommend this hotel to anyone anytime. Enjoy!"

"With all things California and the cost to do anything there, I put this review in the perspective it was expensive and a bit overpriced at this location for rooms. The units were next to a busy road, you could hear every noise from flushing and showers running and was not east access to its corner location. Overall the two day stay was average and no issues except listed above, if I were to stay in Monterey again I would choose another location."
