River cabin on Upper Mountain Fork river in Hatfield near Mena AR-Wolf Pen Gap
On the river. Relax listening to the water flowing while taking in the beautiful view. This retreat is on the waters edge showing off all the Fall colors of the Mountain Fork River. Home of smallmouth bass, spotted bass, largemouth bass, crappie, shadow bass, sunfish, chain pickerel, flathead and channel catfish. (Fishing tip: the fish seem to like live worms.) While your here enjoy peace, nature and serenity. Experience the fun fishing, Kayaking, floating on a real lazy river, and swimming. (2 kayaks 2 paddles provided; bring your own life jacket) Just a short kayak down river you will see the historic Mountain Fork bridge. Built in 1926 and still in use today. Prefer to drive over the bridge stay on County Road 38 just down the road past the cabin driveway. For the exploring enthusiast. This location is prefect and central to many destinations. When you venture out the famous Wolf Pen Gap ATV trails are very close to the cabin and Mena is just 11 miles away. Check out the newest bike trails being developed, Rich Mountain-the second highest peak in Arkansas, Mini Train ride at Queen Wilhelmina State Park, Quachita National Recreation Trails, Cossatot River class 2 to 5 rapids at certain times of the year, and a beautiful 60 mile drive to Broken Bow as well. Have a day trip to Hot Springs Arkansas. There is so much more to explore. Make this your central destination or just relax at the cabin. Memories are here just waiting to be made by you.

Overall we had a great stay. We enjoyed nights by the campfire. View of bald eagles and deer. Kayaking the river. It was a great experience. One consideration if you are looking for a secluded stay there are multiple cabins on the property.
The site was so quiet and peaceful! Just the sound of the river and relaxation. There was an outside kitty who popped their head to check on us. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom and kitchen we're spacious for such a small space. All the cooking utensils and pans were there. Even a full sized fridge. The AC was nice and cold, plus ceiling fans for those that require moving air. No internet or cable, but it was not missed. I would absolutely book this again. The photos don't do the view justice. It is absolutely beautiful.
