With new COVID-19 safety guidelines in effect, travel looks a bit different today. These are some handy things to know before you get on that plane to Harøya:

• Find out if any restrictions apply to both your origin and destination. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so be sure to check before you book.
• Keep your face mask on even during airport screening. A TSA employee will ask you to temporarily lower your mask to verify your identity.
• Avoid handing your boarding pass (paper or electronic) directly to a TSA officer. Rather, you should place the pass on the reader and then hold it up for the agent to visually inspect it.
• You're permitted to take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on bag. This will need to be removed for screening.
• Empty everything from your pockets, like your keys, phone and wallet, and put them in your carry-on instead of into bins. This will reduce handling during screening.
• Transport your food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Separating food from your carry-on means it's less likely a TSA officer will need to touch and open your bag for inspection.
