Exceded my expectations. A lovely b&b within walking distance to the main street historic district. Abounds with history and good eateries. The inn hosts were exceptional.
This is the best place to stay in Carlisle! I will be going back. The breakfast is so wonderful ever morning.

Wonderful experience overall. Dawn and Bruce are incredibly welcoming and had prepared custom breakfast, had fresh baked cookies at night, gorgeous flowers surrounding the porch and superbly decorated and elegant rooms.
We frequently stay at B&Bs and this property outshone all the others. The bathrooms were all modern and very clean, comfy bed, great lighting in the rooms. The breakfast might have been the best part, however, and every day was delicious, filling, and pretty presentation. The inn provides lots of water and soft drink choices, as well as coffees and teas (all self-serve). Fresh-baked cookies every night, and self-serve wine, too! Dawn and Bruce are the consummate hosts and know more about American history than you learned in school! Delightful inn!
My daughter and I stayed here for one night when there was an issue with our air bnb. It was a last minute booking and Dawn got our room ready in very little time with lots of lovely personal details. The room was beautifully furnished, spacious and comfortable and Dawn goes above and beyond to ensure her guests are comfortable with tea, coffee, wine, soft drinks and snacks (including delicious home baked cookies) available to help yourself. In the evening she showed us the amazing evening primroses in the garden open as the sun set then we had a fantastic night’s sleep on the huge comfortable bed. Dawn takes breakfast orders the evening before and allows guests to choose what they would like from an extensive breakfast menu and when they would like it. She took into account my dairy intolerance and made a delicious dairy free breakfast parfait and then scrambled eggs with vegetables and salad freshly picked from her garden. If I am ever back in Carlisle again this would be my first choice of accommodation!
We stayed at the Mooreland Garden Inn on a recent weekend. To say that this place is a gem is an understatement. The hosts, Dawn and Bruce, are amazing, both in their kindness, ability to meet your needs, and generosity. They go above and beyond.
The house itself is beautiful and situated in a quiet, walkable area right adjacent to the Dickinson College campus. We walked everywhere since it was so convenient. The room was generous, and we were asked about our comfort and the temperature. Everything was updated and super clean. They have made the house open and available for you to sit and relax, hang out on the front porch, or be inside and drink some of the tea, coffee, or hand-made treats available.
The breakfasts were amazing. We were impressed by how our hosts catered to our requests. Dawn described what we were having and even discussed how she made it. They went above and beyond asking about allergies and adjusting for our family situation since we were visiting our college student. Oh, and having the menus the night before, and having the ability to select menu items and the time breakfast would be served, according to our schedule, was super helpful.
We cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay there was in both the comfort and absolute value. If you have never stayed in a bed-and-breakfast before, we warn you that this will set a very high bar and for those, like us, who have done so multiple times, this will rank amongst the very best.

Beautiful property in a great neighborhood. Walking distance from a nice downtown area. Clean with great service and an excellent breakfast.
We had a lovely stay at the Mooreland Garden Inn while in town for a college tour. Dawn and Bruce are wonderful hosts and very accommodating. Bed was very comfortable, high quality towels and linens, and breakfast was superb!
We really enjoyed our short stay at the Mooreland Garden Inn and wish we could have stayed longer. Dawn and Bruce made us feel very welcome, and really put thought into every detail of the stay, from the delicious breakfast they served to the toiletries int e room, and access to beverages in the guest kitchen/pantry area. I recommend staying here over any hotel in Carlisle!
It exceeded our expectations. Breakfast by candlelight really topped off our stay. Our hosts were very gracious.
We have stayed in a lot of B&Bs. This is one of the nicest all around.
Wonderful, charming and welcoming place just a block or two from campus. Beautiful neighborhood. Hosts have gone above and beyond with true hospitality and have thought of everything to make us as comfortable and relaxed as possible.
I booked this for my parents' wedding anniversary, and they came back talking about how wonderful this place was. My mother is very picky and she had nothing negative to say. The owners are nice, the food is amazing and, the location is close to downtown Carlisle.
I happened to find this amazing oasis of hospitality and charm in Carlisle Pennsylvania! Dawn and Bruce have created a wonderful place to rest, relax and work! The amenities are off the chain with fresh homemade cookies in the evening, a glass of wine and more! The icing was the best breakfast I've ever enjoyed to start my day! I'll be back for sure!
We had a great stay here. Dawn and Bruce are great hosts and incredibly kind people. We really enjoyed ourselves and were thankful for all the personal touches Dawn created.
Terrific hosts who love taking care of guests and anticipating every preference. Gracious home full of flowers from the garden with a cozy front porch. Beautiful room with good bed and updated bathroom with lovely artisanal toiletries. Superior snacks and breakfast menu choices made to order for each guest. Wish we could stay longer!
We had an amazing time staying at the Moreland Garden Inn. The owners Dawn and Bruce were extremely friendly and take meticulous care of the property inside and out. Their attention to detail and ability to anticipate the needs and desires of their guests is remarkable. The room was comfortable, climate controlled and relaxing. Breakfast was made to order from a menu of delicious options. We loved our stay and plan to return again! We highly recommend this experience!
Amazing stay! Every little thing was taken care of from fresh filtered bedside water and chocolates to makeup washcloths and much more!
Super Friendly owners, beautiful accommodations and awesome made to order breakfast. Extras included: 24 hr coffee, tea, snacks, wine, beer and take home granola.
Within walking distance to the main restaurant and shopping areas. Located in a quiet ,upscale neighborhood by Dickinson college.
We would not hesitate to go back , actually already planning it, and fully recommend to others!
One of the most amazing experiences in our travels! The home and hosts were beyond expectations and we’ve already recommended this B&B to multiple friends and family! Can’t wait to see you guys again:)
Loved the deck upstairs overlooking gardens. The wine and snacks were a pleasant surprise. Very clean. We would stay here again when we are in Carlisle.
Our entire stay was magnificent. We were in town for a wedding nearby and decided to stay at the Mooreland Garden Inn rather than a larger chain hotel because of their thoughtful Covid-19 policies which made us feel safe and like the owners and operators were being clean, respectful, careful (which they were!).
Our entire visit was spectacular - which is saying a lot due to the current circumstances with Covid. The home is beautiful and well appointed (though since this is a new B&B some areas are still being renovated, this had absolutely zero affect on our stay - we hardly noticed. By the time you stay it has probably gotten even better). This is like the B&B version of an all-inclusive resort. The owners and operators were warm, kind, and so sweet and thoughtful. The Lenore room was the perfect size for a couple staying for two nights.
All that said, the highlight here is really the food. Honestly, this is some of the best breakfast I have ever eaten in my life. All the dishes were cooked and presented with such care and were absolutely delicious. Plus so many incredible baked goods (scones, muffins, granola), wine, beer, sodas, snacks and delicious coffee (that you prepared yourself with lysol wipes on hand). How is it possible that even keurig coffee tastes better at Mooreland? There must be something in the water. My partner and I had a lovely time - we only wish we could have stayed longer. If you have the chance to stay here do not hesitate - book right away!
