The Space:

This spacious mountain retreat offers plenty of room for everyone to relax and enjoy their stay. With 3 comfortable bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms, guests can spread out with ease—perfect for families or groups traveling together. An inflatable queen mattress is available for use in the spacious basement entertainment area if needed.

The main living areas are warm and inviting, but the real highlight is the fully outfitted entertainment basement. This fun hangout features:

a shuffleboard table, a poker table, board games for all ages, a dedicated bar area for mixing drinks or enjoying evening snacks, comfortable seating and plenty of space to unwind.

Whether you're gathering for game night, hosting a friendly tournament, or just enjoying time together, this lower-level space adds an extra layer of relaxation and fun to your stay.

Upstairs and throughout the home, you’ll find bright, open rooms, cozy touches, and large windows that look out onto the peaceful West Virginia landscape—making it a perfect blend of comfort, entertainment, and mountain charm.

We proudly welcome house trained dogs, so your furry pup can enjoy the space and amenities too!!



Guest Access:

Guests have full access to the entire home. There is a dedicated parking area on the property for easy arrival and unloading.

For your convenience, a personalized 4-digit door code will be sent to you the day before check-in. This makes for a smooth, contactless entry—no keys to pick up, no hassle.



The Neighborhood:

The home is located in the quiet and peaceful Shannondale community, surrounded by trees, wildlife, and mountain views. It’s a serene setting perfect for relaxing, unplugging, and enjoying nature, all while being just a short drive from Harpers Ferry and local outdoor adventures.

Because the home sits in a higher mountain area with steep, gravel roads, 4-wheel drive is preferred during the winter months. Roads are maintained, but conditions can vary with snow and ice, so we recommend planning accordingly for safe travel.



Getting Around:

The home is conveniently located for exploring Harpers Ferry and the surrounding outdoor attractions. A short drive will take you to Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, the Appalachian Trail, and multiple outfitters offering whitewater rafting, tubing, snow tubing, kayaking, and ziplining.

History lovers will appreciate the home’s proximity to numerous local Civil War sites, including Harpers Ferry Battlefield, Bolivar Heights, Maryland Heights, Antietam, as well as museums, and other historic landmarks tied to the rich story of Harpers Ferry and the surrounding region.

In addition to outdoor adventure, the property is also close to many award winning Virginia wineries, making it easy to enjoy local tastings, wine tours, vineyard views, and relaxing afternoons.

A car is recommended, as the area is rural and ride-share services can be limited. Roads are generally easy to navigate, with beautiful mountain scenery along the way. Most major activities—historic sites, river access points, trailheads, adventure companies, and wineries—are all within a 10–25 minute drive, making it simple to plan day trips and experiences.

Whether you’re here for hiking, river fun, history, wine tasting, or exploring the charming shops and restaurants of Harpers Ferry, everything is close and easy to reach from the home.



Other Things to Note:

--Smoking of any kind is NOT permitted within this property. Smoking of any kind will result in additional cleaning fees starting at $500.00

--There is a RING Floodlight on the exterior of home that monitors the driveway & a RING doorbell that monitors the front door. Both cameras are ON & recording when it detects any motion during your stay. The RING devices ONLY record the outside for the safety of ourselves and our guests.

--Please be aware that the outdoor furniture is not cleaned regularly by our cleaning team. These outdoor items are exposed to the elements (insects, bird droppings, etc)



FIREPLACE:

The home features a cozy wood-burning fireplace for guests to enjoy. We provide 1 Duralog and 2 pieces of wood. Additional wood can be purchased at local hardware and grocery stores.

To keep things safe & simple, please follow these guidelines:

-Open the damper before starting any fire (pull down the black lever inside the fireplace.). This allows smoke to exit through the chimney.

-Follow the directions on the Duralog packaging.

-NEVER use lighter fluid or other accelerants.

-Keep the fireplace screen closed whenever a fire is burning.

-Do not leave the fire unattended at any time.

-Allow ashes to cool completely before disposing of them in the metal ash bin provided. DO NOT place the metal ash bin on the decking outside.

-There is a fire extinguisher under the sink as well as to the left of the fireplace. There is also a fire blanked located on the shelf in the laundry closet.



If you have any questions or need help operating the fireplace, your host is always available to assist.



Interaction with Guests:

Your owner host is available throughout your stay to answer questions, provide recommendations, or help with anything you may need. We give guests their privacy but we are always just a message away if something comes up.
