"It was okay, but there seemed to be some renovation work going on at the hotel. Because of that, not all services were available. Also, breakfast wasn’t served at 7:30 – nobody was there yet. It was set up later, which made us almost late for an appointment."

"The hotel is clean and all the things you'd expect. The reception staff were brilliant - really, several cuts above what you'd expect in the average hotel. We had several good and helpful conversations in both English and German "

"The hotel seems to have had a recent make over and a re-brand. The room was immaculately clean and the bathroom looked new and was also very good. My only criticism is the lack of amenities; if you want a kettle or iron you need to go to a store cupboard on the ground floor to get it yourself and there is no fridge in the room. Apart from that my partner and I enjoyed the quiet and were very pleased with the room quality"

"I liked that there was a separate lounge; it came in handy to do some work on a laptop. The wifi was useful too. The shower was one of the best I've had. Very strong and hot. Very good experience!"

Quiet living near Zollverein, restaurant medallion in the house
10/10 Excellent
"Fantastic flat in a great location. Our host, Peter, was very friendly and welcoming. We arrived two hours earlier than we expected but nothing was too much trouble. Would love to come back again."
"The hotel is old but reasonably well maintained. Its location is close to the train station and there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The wifi was sufficient. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean."
Cozy 2 1/2 room apartment in Bochum Wattenscheid, near the A40
10/10 Excellent
"This was a cute little apartment. It was walkable to the grocery store and train station. I stayed there for the World University Games and the stadium was easy to walk to as well. "
" The staff was really friendly. The rooms were clean and we enjoyed it being so close to the train station and the pedestrian zone.
One of the elevators was broken and we were there with a large group so that was a tiny bit unpleasant. "
