This is a small, family-run hotel. The setting is a little rustic, but so is all of Rapa Nui. The room was perfect for one or two people. It is a 15 min walk to the town. There is ample parking for cars. It is quiet (except for a few chickens -- island life). The owner picked me up at the airport, and drove me back a few days later. A safe, clean, reliable place to stay at a good price.

We had the most amazing stay at Hotel Atavai Antoine is a 5 star and the most welcoming host we have ever stayed with. Firstly he picked us up at the Rapa Nui Airport free of charge. And welcomed us with flowers. He was always reachable and helpful and even checked in with us if we reached back to Santiago on time. The room itself is quiet and very clean. The bed was so comfortable that we overslept :). Rapa Nui is a great place and our stay at Hotel Atavai just made it many times better. Go ahead and book it , you wont regret :)

We got exactly what we expected considering the price. The best part was the staff and the breakfast was amazing! They were so helpful and always responded quickly! It was a little farther from town but you can easily reach town for 4-5 dollars so it was not a problem for us. The only negative is there was a kitchen but nothing to cook with or eat with. They should remove the kitchen or provide a few pans and plates / flatware

Close to the airport but not so close. It is really far away from the town center if you don’t have a car. Forget taxi, there is no taxi on the island. The host picked me up at airport also gave me a ride back to airport. Amazing! Every day the flight arrives at 12:55pm and leaves at 3:00pm, but check out time is 10:00am which means you need kill 5 hrs time for nothing.

Quiet and cozy room in the middle of nature

Quiet and cozy room in the middle of nature, thoughts you will still hear the sound made by your neighbourhood dogs and chickens. The bed is comfortable but not everything is provided for your stay, eg. you will need to bring your own cleansing kit, home slippers if necessary. The location is not too far from busy area where you can get food but may still take you 20-30min walk, or you can reserve with the owner for food. Generally speaking it still worth the money to stay

We stayed in room 1, which was nice, clean and spacious with all the necessary amenities. The owners Lolita and Antoine are amazing. Antoine is the chef and cooks amazing breakfast and delicious juices. We had our 2 days tour with the owner Lolita who have also designed the circuit map of Rapa Nui. She had so much knowledge and does an amazing job. The place is a good walk to and from the city center. We explored quite a bit There are also local taxi service if you feel a bit lazy. Both Señora Lolita and Monsieur Antoine are wonderful human beings. They are very helpful and will assist you with information, organisation and guidance.

Room was clean enough, but woke up the first morning covered in bug bites that I can only assume were from bed bugs, as more appeared each day and there were no mosquitos or anything around. There are also some very aggressive dogs in the area if you are walking, they snapped and bit at me when I was trying to walk on the road the hotel is located on

5 STARS!! This is DEFINITELY the place to stay on Rapa Nui for 2 main reasons the owners ANTOINE & His Wife. I was met at the airport by Antoine with a beautiful lei. The room had a great shower, was spacious and cleaned daily. I was on the island for a few days and needed help seeing ALL the sights. ANTOINE went Above and Beyond to help me do this and even got me to the local gym. The PRICES were the BEST on the island and the KINDNESS-personal service was the BEST. Antoine and his wife are dedicated to assuring your stay is at ease, memorable and enjoyable. NO QUESTION that I STRONGLY RECOMMEND Hotel Atavai and the caring owners Antoine and his wife.

I was not informed that I would be met at the airport although others had been. The shower operated backwards and the hot water only ran for a few seconds before going cold again. Having NOT met me at the airport I was surprised that they did not want to run me to the harbour

Goede kamers, geen volledig hotel

Kamers waren prima, badkamer ook ook. Transport vanaf het vliegveld was wel geregeld, en Claudia helpt goed (als je Spaans spreekt). Receptie van het hotel was ver onder de maat.. De balie was helemaal niet open, en het toilet werkte niet. Waar dat betreft was het meer een Airbnb.

會臨時調漲價格跟無預警逼你付錢的惡劣旅館

我們剛要辦入住時，櫃台跟我們說價格已經調漲了，三天多約40美金。我說我是用網路預訂的，而且沒被通知過價格會調漲。然後就是拿到房間鑰匙，老闆交代說這鑰匙很脆弱斷掉了我們要賠50000塊智利幣。我先生說為什麼鑰匙快壞旅館不換還把責任給房客？之後我們發現窗簾也是壞的，所以根本沒隱私。最後最氣的就是，隔天晚上我回去老闆跟我收了3600的水錢，還把我訓了一頓，說我們用他的水用太多……我們在外面商店找熱水吃泡麵時，想買熱水店家還不收錢，也不要我們消費，後來我老公心情好才去買的。這家老闆處處摳門，我們出來一個月，這一間難得住到三晚（其他都一兩晚）卻只有這間從進去開始就都不開心，讓人家出來玩的心情都被破壞，倒數第二天早上我們遇到其他房客，他也表示住得很不開心。離我們不遠前面一點的民宿天天都爆滿，我們這邊住房率不到三成，強烈負評這家旅館。

交通の便以外は二重丸

繁華街から歩いて30分。 wifiは部屋でもつながる。 英語は親父さん○、娘さん△、お母さん✕。でも、皆さん親切です。 宿までの道が未舗装でレンタカー運転してて一番怖かったかも。 あと、私は気にならなかったが、鶏がうるさい。

A pleasant surprise

We were a bit worried after only reading the other reviews after booking our stay. The fears grew bigger as we encountered the same issues as mentioned in other reviews, mainly arriving at 11 and being forced to wait 2 hours for a room that was already ready. But other than that we had absolutely zero complaints. Our room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the hot shower was fantastic. Some reviews complained about paper thin walls, but our only experience with this was the roosters that started around 6AM. I solved that by using earplugs, and some roosters is anyway nothing compared with the noise you usually put up with in South America. A pleasant surprise was the daily maid service since our booking specifically said "no daily services". Our bed was made and the towels changed every single day. It was also advertised as "WiFi only in lobby", but we had WiFi in the room (although very slow). The only downside is the distance down to the restaurant and bars. It's only a 25 minute walk, but since there's not that much to do downtown you end up going back and forth between the hotel and city pretty often. It's a boring stretch, but this is a proper first-world problem that can also be avoided by booking a taxi (which they will do for you). Their rental car deals are cheaper than the ones down on the main street as well. Maybe it was due to our lowered expectations, but we had a very pleasant stay at this hotel.

Difficile à trouver

Hébergement type bungalow un peu vétuste, salle de bain nécessitant quelques travaux, connexion wifi très limitée mais cela est dû au manque d'infrastructures de l'île, petit déjeuner en supplément, situé à 20/30 minutes de marche du centre d'Hagan Roa et à 15/20 minutes à pied de l'aéroport. Le gros point négatif : très difficile à trouver, situé au fond d'une route en terre sans panneau ni signalisation, impossible à emprunter si l'on vient à pied de l'aéroport avec des bagages à faire rouler.

A very good budget alternative for Easter Island

This place is perfect if one wants peace and quiet during one´s visit to Easter Island. It is located somewhat away from the "downtown" area of Hanga Roa, so the only sound one hears from town is basically the church bells playing melodies once in a while. The rooms are of good standard with firm nice beds, the showers deliver really hot water (even if it is a little dangerous as it keeps shifting between super-hot and cold without warning....), the breakfast, which was an extra for us, is great and the staff is very nice and helpful. There are two drawbacks: 1) the sketchy Internet, but without knowing, I suspect that this is an Easter Island issue, rather than something specific to this hotel. Given the location/isolation, having ANY Internet is quite a feat.....; 2) If getting into the centre of town often is a requirement, it is important to be aware that this is about 15 minutes´ walking from the hotel. With a rental car (almost a must while on Easter Island), this "problem" is solved....

Accueil : peu chaleureux Chambre : grande avec rangements , lit moyennement confortable , coqs à proximités qui font de bruit quasiment nuit et jour. Salle de bain : tres bien , eau chaude Extérieur : petite table sympathique Localisation : rien autour, loin de tout (15-20min de la rue principale), pas très loin de l'aéroport (5min en taxi , faisable à pieds) Services : possibilité de laver + sécher ses affaires pour 10 000 pesos. Cependant demandez bien combien de machines ils vont faire avec vos habits car sans nous prévenir ils ont voulu nous en facturer deux (finalement non car nous avons râlé)

Hotel sencillo y cómodo

Se trata de un pequeño hotel en la periferia de Hanga Roa. A pesar de que la distancia al centro es corta, aprox 1 km, la movilidad no es tan fácil a menos que se pague un taxi (3000 pesos chilenos), ya que un tramo de calle no está pavimentada. Las instalaciones del hotel son sencillas y cómodas. La atención de Antoine es increíble, siempre amable y dispuesto a auxiliarte en lo necesario.
