An Absolute Gem in Paradise! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you are looking for an authentic, warm, and family-friendly retreat in Kauai, look no further than the Kauai Inn. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely welcomed and taken care of—all thanks to the incredible manager, Chris, who goes above and beyond to ensure every guest has a magical stay. What makes this place so special is its wonderful nostalgic charm. There is something so delightful and old-school about carrying around a real, physical room key instead of a plastic card! It immediately sets a relaxed, laid-back tone for your Hawaiian vacation. The property is practically made for families: * The Pool: Clean, refreshing, and surrounded by lush greenery, it was a massive hit with the kids after a long day of exploring. * The Breakfast: A fantastic, delicious way to start every morning without the stress of rushing out to find a restaurant. * The Live Music: Hearing local music played live on the property added the most enchanting, soulful atmosphere to our evenings. If you want a genuine Hawaiian experience full of aloha spirit, comfort, and character, stay here. We cannot wait to come back. In addition to the stay was $45/day resort fee, and $30/day parking fee. Hidden fees made this property more expensive than it was worth.

All of the staff were quite friendly and helpful. We loved the grounds, the location, and the beach - great access to Tunnels, Haena, and Hanalei/Princeville communities. The sunrise view from the premium ocean view rooms was fabulous. When it rained and the wind blew(which it did a lot during our stay the last week of July/first week of August), the balcony was often uncomfortable for sitting outside. Our unit was not as well equipped as would have been useful for a stay as long as ours where we prepared meals onsite. Basic dishes, cooking utensils and pans were provided, as were salt and pepper. We had a 15 day stay and the room was cleaned once during that time. The hot water was the hottest I have ever encountered, which was wonderful for showering after a day in the water! What we haven't figured out was why our welcome email asked what our plans were (we had our wedding on the island and wrapped our honeymoon into the trip) - we shared that information but as far as I can tell, it was for no real purpose. We are not terribly well traveled, so maybe I missed something that others will be aware of.

I received my room at around 5:00 p.m., even though the stated check-in time was 3:00 p.m. More importantly, I booked and paid for a room with two beds, but instead I was given a room with one bed and one sofa bed. I was told that this arrangement was suitable for up to four people, but this was not the type of room I had booked and paid for. To make matters worse, I had to carry the bed linen for the sofa bed myself from reception to the room and prepare the sofa bed on my own. I also spent a considerable amount of time waiting at reception because I could not get clear or accurate information about the situation. Overall, I did not receive the accommodation I booked and paid for, and I wasted a significant amount of time trying to resolve the issue. I also submitted a complaint to Expedia. Initially, I was connected with AI support, followed by another customer service representative who was unable to resolve the issue and explained that they were only qualifying the case. I was then required either to call or wait for a call from another team specialising in this type of issue. At that stage, Expedia was only able to offer phone support. The representative who eventually called me was also unable to resolve my complaint. I am very disappointed with Expedia’s customer support and with the way this accommodation was advertised. In my experience, the room offered by the hotel did not match what was presented and sold through Expedia. I expected Expedia to take more respon
