Family Fun & Adventure at Award Winning Historical Copper King Mountain Mansion

This pristine 139 year old 10,000 square foot Marcus Daly masterpiece in the middle of everything you love about Montana. Marcus Daly, well known as the Copper King and one of the wealthiest men of his time, built this incredible victorian mountain home before the city of Hamilton was platted and his riverside mansion was constructed.

The Bitterroot Mansion remodel modernized and preserved the history and elegance of one of the most important homes in Montana, while providing a gorgeous location for families and friends to reunite and enjoy the beauty of the Bitterroot valley. This Marcus Daly masterpiece was recently featured on HGTV’s “Ultimate House Hunt.” The pristine 2,000 square foot great room is the perfect place for family and friends to gather. The main kitchen is truly gourmet with additional galley kitchen on the upper floor and snack bar/kitchen on the lower floor. There are 7 bathrooms including 2 oversized bathrooms with 3 showers in each next to the bunk rooms, for a total of 11 showers all together.

The mansion is the absolute ultimate for mixing timeless beauty with fun and entertainment. Outside you will find decks and patios overlooking rare and unique mountain park like manicured grounds that creatively mix towering douglas fir, pines and blue spruce with the vast colors and scents of flowering trees, hedges and gardens. You and your guests will enjoy expansive lawns for croquet, volleyball, crossnet, corn hole, ring pole, and spike ball. The mansion has pickle ball and basketball courts with night time lighting. The “bike barn” has 6 bikes to tour historic Hamilton or ride along the bitterroot river and all your outdoor gear needed for family fun. Inside the mansion, you will find a high tech theater and audio system, poker table, pool table, shuffleboard, foosball, and gaming room with huge screen television.

At the end of the day, soak under the stars in the 10 person sauna to rest and relax in preparation for another beautiful Montana day.

The mansion is located right in the middle of everything the Bitterroot valley has to offer. You are only a 2 minute drive to the famous Bitterroot River with boat drop and beach, the mansion is central to the best hiking in the valley with more than 20 hikes within 20 minutes. The Stock Farm and Hamilton Golf Club are within 20 minutes. Lake Como is a 20 minute drive with towering mountains that grow right out of the lake and beautiful water falls for those willing to make the 3.5 mile hike. There are also more than 20 restaurants in addition to coffee shops, bakeries and mountain shopping all located within 15 minutes. Missoula International Airport is about 45 minutes to an hour drive.

The base rate or discounted nightly rate is for up to 8 guests. Guests include all ages. Additional guests are $50/night each up to 24 guests. The price per guest applies to those staying the night or not. For example, the number of guests includes those coming to the property for a pre approved in writing event such as a wedding, family reunion, party or gatherings of any type. If you have more or less than expected, please let us know and we will adjust the rate accordingly.

THERE IS A ONE HISTORIC STAIR CASE THAT IS VERY STEEP WITH LOW RAILINGS THAT WE ASK YOU TO NOT USE, IT WILL HAVE A VELVET ROPE ACROSS ENTRANCES AT BOTH ENDS. WE HAVE ON SITE A CRIB, HIGH CHAIR AND PAC N PLAY.

Beautiful, Spacious, and Something for Everyone!

This property is impeccably maintained, extremely comfortable, and full of activities for everyone! The well manicured yard is a vacation in itself, the kitchen is extremely well stocked, and there was enough room for everyone in a large extended family to find their own space. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful property - we'll be back!

The description doesn't adequately describe this unique property. On a warm summer day, you can play basketball, pickleball, shuffleboard, pool, plus bike and BBQ while enjoying the park-like yard. This place is a real gem. Loved it. I've rented dozens of short-term rentals for work retreats. The King Cooper Mountain Mansion was among the top 3 ever. The house is immaculate. So much effort must have gone into restoration of this mansion.

This place was amazing and very very accommodating for all that we needed. Soo many beds and bathrooms!!! Beautiful house with an amazing sound system on the TV.... make sure you turn it up and sit on the couch! Thank you for all you helped us with, highly recommend to any groups traveling this way.

Magical!! The farmer’s market, hiking around Lake Como and more made Hamilton an amazing backdrop for family fun, but even more amazing was this historical mansion!! Our party of 19 never had a dull moment between pickleball, basketball, corn hole, poker, shuffleboard, pool, AND the bicycles may have been the biggest hit of all! The hot tub was also fantastic! Everyone, ages 7 to 70, had a great time! We cooked, baked, BBQ’d, and smoked a brisket on the Traeger during our stay; taking advantage of all the amenities provided. Two dishwashers and two large sinks made for quick cleanup! Large dining areas made family style dining easy. Each room upstairs was charmingly decorated and the bunk rooms downstairs were great! All the comforts of home on this beautiful property. The hosts were kind, easy to work with, and promptly responded to our questions. Check-in/check-out procedures were easy peasy. 10/10 and will definitely return!

This was such a beautiful place, and we felt like we were on a fancy vacation. The hosts were outstanding, and communicated with us easily and often. We recently held our annual staff retreat at this exceptional mansion, and it was the perfect choice for mixing work, team building, and fun. The BEST rental we have ever stayed in!

We enjoyed this home and location so much! To begin with, the communication from the owners is unmatched. Stephanie answered my questions and gave so many tips and suggestions for things to do. We appreciated that and put them to use! The house was SO clean and perfectly set up. They put forth so much effort into the details. Stocked mini fridges, a cute snack basket, etc. After claiming rooms half of our group ran right outside to start playing pickleball and enjoy the beautiful property. We could walk down the street to restaraunts, shopping and more! We had a family group of 19 and everyone was so happy with this home. We had everything we could ask for in the kitchen and made cappuccinos every morning. When we were getting ready to leave, Stephanie reassured us that we didn't need to do a thing, just enjoy every last minute we had on vacation. No chores! Thank you for that! I would recommend this place to anyone with a group of people. We were never on top of each other and had so many things to do. Hamilton is great!

Family fun in Montana

Very nicely furnished and set up for guests. Lots of activities for young and old. It had everything we needed and more. It was beautiful and exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed the game room and pickle ball court. The location was great, could walk to dinner and grocery store. We walked all over town. Everyone said they would like to go again.

I have stayed in countless VRBO homes over the last few years. This house, is by far the best ever. This house is literally a mansion, and, perfectly remodeled &, stocked, with property managers that are amazing. Perfect for a wedding!

We had immediate family stay on the property and then hosted a mini wedding on the grounds, and it was PERFECT. We were blown away by the house and all of its amenities. Even larger than the pictures suggest with endless activities for the whole family. And the owners were very responsive to all of our needs, even ensuring lawn care and sprinklers didn’t disrupt parts of our week. Thank you!
