4.5 stars cruise. Very good but not top notch.
We went on a 3 days 2 nights cruise. Pros: - Get the bus transfer from Hanoi, amazing service with luxurious bus. - Very good service on cruise. - Quality local food, excellent presentation. - Crew helped celebrate special occasion. - Happy hour on boat. - Great room, bathroom and balcony. - Amazing landscapes all along - Very few people on the boat, quiet environment. - Cruise follows less crowded itinerary on bay. On the con side: - The 3 days trip actually lasts a total of 48 hours and you spend the 2nd day (8 AM to 3 PM) on a smaller boat without access to a private room. - You have to pay for your drinks during meals including water which shouldn't happen given the price you pay - Very few activities out of the boat: 45 min of kayak the 1st day, 2 hours of kayak + small crowded beach on 2nd day, 45 min cave visit on 3rd day. - Very small cruising time: ~2h a day and the boat spends the night at the same location every night, with several boats around you. In summary, the experience is unique and worth it. The biggest issue is that the cruise is a very profitable business and you truly feel it: there are more than 500 cruises every day in the Ha Long bay and 70 in the Bai Tu Long bay (2nd day). The boat goes back and forth every day to pick up new clients and drop the previous one. While the guide makes the effort to memorize your name, the trip doesn't really feel personal as you are just one more client. We were expecting more activities and history about the bay.

I booked Signature Halong Cruise after sufficient research, and then I was assigned a cabin on the Signature Royal Cruise, which is a different boat. This happened without the company providing me any notification that a switch was made.

A special trip and a must to do .
The trip was fantastic. Signature made it very special the staff on board were all excellent. The food was way above expectations. The cabin was very comfortable and there was lots to see and do. The visit to the fishing village was amazing and we kayaked around it.

We had a wonderful time on Ha Long Bay with Signature Cruises. The staff was wonderful, everyone made sure we were all happy with our trip. Ha Long Bay is beautiful. 3 Days/2 Nights is the perfect time to spend on the cruise. It gave us time to relax and enjoy the area. We didn't feel rushed and the extra day provided time to see Ha Long area with less tourist. Definitely a must do.

Very friendly helpful crew.Food was great on first day but only average the second day, Felt a bit pushed to have alcoholic drinks initially as no alternative was offered ( the drinks are not paid for and provide extra revenue for the company) Instead of shower had Jaccuzi in en suite bathroom which provided great hot water but jets were not working.The views and the tour out on small boates to a fishing village were a great experience, the tour guides were knowledgable and very helpful. the landscape is a breathtakingly beautiful

UNDERWHELMING EXPERIENCE
Overall, it was fine. But the activities were quite boring and stretched out too long. The trip is nice, but too boring, with not much to do. I wish they would condense all of the experiences into just 1 day because it's absolutely possible to see and do everything in a day. Both days, we spent over 4 hours traveling back and forth on small boats from the main boat to see something/ do an activity that itself was for 45 minutes! It's kind of ridiculous. The food onboard is quite mediocre. On the main cruise boat, the presentation is nice, but flavors are totally not on point. Believe me, this is coming from a food blogger and food critic. You will delicious food anywhere on the streets of Vietnam that cost 1/5 the money and has 5x the taste! It was ok, nothing to write home about.

Staff threw trash bags off the back of the boat
Overall it was an amazing trip, but significantly soured when I saw three large bags of trash being thrown off the back of the boat in the middle of the day. I realize that the garbage generated by tourists has to be handled in some way, and no matter how it is handled it is not pretty. However, there has to be better options than throwing it off the boat.

Making a lot out of a little - but stunning.
Beautiful surroundings even though it was misty and rainy. Calling this three days and two nights is misleading though, you arrive lunchtime the first day and leave after a late breakfast on the third morning so actually less than 48 hours. Lots of food, 4 or 5 courses is too much. The food is good, but not very Vietnamese, and if you've been enjoying local specialities it will seem a bit bland. There's isn't actually very much to see so the cruise company make a lot out of not very much, but this does mean that whatever excursions you do go on you'll be there with groups from lots of other cruise ships. The ship itself is lovely especially if you book a room with a balcony and the views are stunning. The staff are mostly very friendly and helpful.

The Signature cruise Halong bay was fantastic. Hung and his team were so helpful and friendly nothing was too much trouble. The food onboard was amazing with different options available if you didn't like something. We joined the cooking class and early morning Thai chi which was fun, we had a great group onboard and the views of Halong bay were amazing. I would definitely do this trip all over again.

Beautiful scenery with great staff and lovely boat
Highly recommended. This us a very relaxing way of seeing Halong bay which is simply stunning. I would however recommend the 2 night stay to fully enjoy this trip. Staff are great, food is very good and rooms were very well fitted out, we had the junior suite.

Great 2 night cruise at Halong Bay
Boat was in good condition and our room with a balcony was surprisingly spacious. Food was plentiful and good quality incl breakfast. All Staff on main boat, transfer and day boats were well organized, friendly and always made sure safety came first. Our host Mr Lam was super efficient and informative. A relaxing time for 2 nights.

Staff nice, boat fairly modern. The best part for me was the jacuzzi bath and the motorised toilet! The rest pretty much standard! Sailing though the limestone rocks of Halong Bay is very relaxing so that was nice to see. You see pretty much the same sight for a couple of hours after setting off about 12.30pm. As soon as we were aboard the staff had us organised. Luggage in rooms. Then lunch. Lunch was a set menu and was good. As was all the food.Went through little fisherman village. Interesting. Saw how pearls were made. Cool. Happy hour was between 6-7pm. My partner drank a lot of alcohol but I went to bed early as I wanted to go kayaking at 7.30am. Once in the room I noticed air con wasn't working. Was very hot in the cabin. The staff took care of this immediately as there is an engineer on board. However it never seemed to get cool enough! Not sure if it was jut air circulating. Breakfast was good. Kayaking was fun but no one was with us. There should be a guide I've heard. However they had said nobody wanted to do kayaking however we had requested we were doing this at breakfast when staff asked. We just borrowed another kayak from the shore and they were happy with this. The others walked up to a cave. This was 30 minutes. Then back to main boat. When we received bill they had charged for 4 cocktails but I know I only had three! I brought it to the lady's attention but she was adamant. The Vietnamese do not seem keen on giving money back!

Give Halong Bay a miss.
Overpriced, no wifi, no TV, dreadful dvd collection, unable to cope with disabled passengers, no drinks with meals, drinks very expensive. So many ships all doing Halong Bay cruises it is ridiculous, all the boats crowd to the few attractions and the crowds of tourists are horrendous. The trip to Halong Bay was long and the two night cruise is the best option if you have decided to go. Senior suite is expensive but the room size is good. Shower is over a rather lavish spa bath which makes standing for a shower, without a shower curtain, quite difficult. Wish we had saved the money and given Halong Bay a miss.

we stay in their biggest cabin - elite family suite which is very spacious and have a very good view of the bay. highly recommended for family who travel in group of 4 people. A friendly and humurous cabin manager, Hero whom has did a great job in making all his guests feel at "home". downside- we can hardly use the free wifi on board as well as their onsite office.

Beautiful Cruise
We had a great experience on the 2 night cruise. The staff were great and there was plenty of good food. Drink prices were a bit higher, but not too bad. When booking we expected to have a balcony on our room, not realising from the photos that some rooms don't have them, but the rooms were quite big and had a nice layout. Make sure to check if you want a balcony. There are also two boats. The boats are almost identical, however, the one in the photos looked a bit bigger.

A Good Option to See Halong Bay
We were picked up at our hotel (not included in booking here, but is on the Signature Website). It is approximately a 3 1/2 - 4 hours drive with a stop at a large shop with art, sculptures, etc. upon arrival, you have to wait approx. 15 - 25 minutes to board the boat. You then walk (equal to 1 - 2 blocks) take a smaller boat to get the ship (5 min. trip). You check into your room (very clean) and head upstairs for lunch. The fish soup was really good, but the fish they called Sea Bass (too fishy to be bass) for the main course wasn't great, but there were many other items to eat. We then had approximately 45 minutes until we got on the little boat again to go to a little village with a floating homes. You then stop at the pearl shop (oyster farm in the village) to shop before going back on the boat. You can then relax, swim off the side of the boat (weather permitting), attend a cooking class or get a massage before dinner. Dinner was multiple courses with lots of options for drinks (alcoholic drinks not included in price). The boat docks in a alcove area along with several other boats for the night. There is a short excursion (take the little boat again) at 7:30 am to a little island with a beach and good size cave in the middle. You then return to the boat for lunch and then head back to Halong City. You are back by 11:00 and in vehicle back to Hanoi by 11:30 - 11:45. Of course, you have to do a stop back at the same shop at the 1/2 way point on the return trip.

Loved our experience with Halong Bay Signature Cruise, the staff was fantastic, we had a blast and which we could have stay longer. If i need to find an opportunity, would be to lower the price on bottles of wine, we bought one bottle once we got there but was not good quality and costed $60+ dollars, way too expensive.

Great choice to Cruise Ha Long Bay
I took the 2 night 3 day cruise on Ha Long Bay on the Signature Cruise 1, Halong. I stayed in a Junior Suite which was nicely furnished with a roomy well appointed bathroom. The cruise was fully inclusive of meals so the only expense on board was alcohol. Happy Hour - 2 for 1 between 6pm and 7pm! There were activities during the day time including visits to a fishing village and a pearl centre, bamboo boating, kayaking and visits to beaches and caves as the vessel cruised amongst the most beautiful limestone formations. The food was uniformly excellent and there was an opportunity to attend a cooking class. The Cruise manager and staff were friendly, professional and helpful. Overall a great holiday experience.

Our stay on Halong Bay with Signature Cruises was spectacular bar one mishap. The boat, activities, staff, cabin and food were all fantastic. I can highly recommend them for a anyone looking for a structured cruise on a junk. Only issue was that one of my bags was dropped into the bay by the staff as they moved everyone's luggage back to port. Whilst very apologetic and kind the token gift does little to offset the cost of a ruined leather bag. Fortunately the contents while soaked, survived. Lucky it's wasn't the bag with the camera in...

Everything there was perfect . The rooms (senior suites), the staff, excellent meals, the cruise route. The only things that may be improved are: After dinner program, and more time for activities as staying on a beach after kayaking. In general it was a WOW vacation!!!

First class experience on Halong Bay
Signature cruise was wonderful. Most of the itineraries for the cruises on Halong Bay are the same, so the only difference is the quality of the room and service. The room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and spacious. The service on the boat was amazing. Every one from the guides to the servers were kind and helpful. The drinks on the boat are a little expensive and if you take the shuttle bus from Hanoi you stop a tourist trap for a bathroom break, but other than that our experience with Signature Cruise was amazing and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a first class experience on Halong Bay.

Halong Bay is a wonderful place definitely worth the 3-4 hour transfer from Hanoi. Signature Cruise is one of the best companies that offer a cruise in the bay, although I found it a bit expensive. Food did not have many choices and the Tai Chi class was not really a true class. Personnel was very kind but they need to learn more English. When we got back to Hanoi we got a nice surprise gift (coffe and a coffe pot) as well as a call to see if everything was OK.

Amazing stay
Halong bay is a must. Good and staff were great. Rooms clean and amazing and large. Top deck is relaxing and everything very modern.
