Great location for ice fishing and snowmobile riding. Up North Lodge restaurant/bar is only minutes away with a great menu selection. We rented two cabins which were perfect for our party of 8. Kitchens are a bit small, but have everything you need for cooking meals. Host was great to work with.
We had a great stay at the cabin. It had everything needed. We had plenty of room to park our truck and trailer and were able to ride from the cabin to trail 33 (about 2 miles).
Had fun, hope to book again soon with my dad this time as he will be retiring soon,...have a feeling my brother will be up there soon to book as he was jealous of all the pictures and fun we had. Great place to stay, can do fishing, check out the ice caves, or nearby waterfalls. Had a blast!
It was very peaceful and quiet my dog played with the owners dog and we visited Gwinn for a little shopping, The property has a good energy - there is a lot of history here Built in 1960s and being renovated. The owner is very helpful and available if you need anything. The beds and linens were very nice , puzzles, cards, Yahtzee games. Smart tv for movies. I’m from UP and live here and enjoyed the getaway from hustle in Marquette. We love the woods and peacefulness of nature.
Place needs a lot of repair to be worth the price that is charged. Oven did not work, make shift air conditioner in one of our cabins, front screen door was missing on one of our cabins and our other cabin screen door had a 3” gap at the bottom. Took two days to get towels to one cabin. Three of the four boats were broken or busted and could not be put in the water. Dog running loose was aggressive towards us along with dog droppings on the ground everywhere. If you like this type of vacation then this is the place to be.
I rented 3 cabins in February for four nights June 24th to the 28th. Paid in full. Owner confirmed receipt of reservations for 3 cabins. 4 hours into our 8 hour drive the owner called and confirmed the names for three cabins and then advised he only had two cabins. Expected 10 of us, 2 elderly widows in their 80’s and two other single women, 2 couples and 2 teenage girls to fit into 2 cabins using rollaway beds. We still have not been reimbursed for the 3rd cabin. We had to scramble & were lucky to find hotel rooms in Marquette because we could not split up the group. We were there for my father’s memorial service and burial. Needless to say I do not recommend booking these cabins. We will be fighting to get all of our money refunded through our credit card company & small claims court if necessary.
Our cabin had everything you could need for a relaxing week up north. It was clean, cozy, and modern. It was secluded but still close to everything we needed to get to. It was a great stay and would highly recommend.
Clean, and peaceful. Exactly what we wanted and looking for. The host was very informational and answered every question in a quick manner. We did nothing but relax. Being in the medical field it gets very busy and chaotic.. We needed this and everything was perfect!!
I booked this to have a weekend by myself but then my father ended up in Marquette at the hospital. They were great about letting me add my mother and her dog to my stay. Loved the quiet and peacefulness.
We stayed for a week with our 3 children and we all loved the property! It’s conveniently located near Marquette but allows for a more rustic experience. After our daily outings we always came back to fish on the dock, use the boats in the lake or have a bonfire. Each cabin has their own picnic table, charcoal grill and fire pit. Would recommend bringing chairs for the fire pit and drinking water for your stay. The kitchen is well stocked, beds and linens are clean and comfortable and hosts were very attentive when we lost power for a few hours. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable cabin to call home in the UP. We hope to be back!
The kids and I enjoyed ourselves very much! The fishing was awesome! Good location to what we were looking to do. Definitely would book again

Disliked: Cleanliness
Adequate
Loved the comfortable bed and pillows, the location was nice but the lake experience would have been much better if the lake bottom had been raked to remove some of the weeds for swimming.
Cabin 1 needed some upkeep, we were welcomed by a bent screen door closure holding the door wide open (not sure why it wasn't noticed before our 1 am arrival) the bathroom shower fixture wouldn't stay in one place. About half of the windows were missing screens to take advantage of the cool nights...the most problematic was the bathroom, since there was no exhaust fan.
The manager was generally available, usually answering our texts within a couple hours...the AC required 3 visits before it avoided making puddles on the floor, instead he coaxed it to drain into a bucket.
Parking was an issue, although the lot is huge... there are only 4 spots readily available for all 5 cabins' use before guests end up parking across the lot near the big house's garage or barn.
The TV worked great once we got fresh remote batteries, and the internet was useable...we found it to be too slow to stream a FB messenger call. We enjoyed the tankless water heater to keep the hot water flowing.
Had a great time , only advise I can give bring a frying pan if you plan to use one. Already looking to come back . Definitely worth it . Great fishing.
The beds were very comfortable, but the pillows were just OK. We checked in before going to the grocery store, to see what we would need and glad we did because we needed to get coffee filters and facial tissue. Those were only minor issues that didn't take away from the experience at all. Great place to stay and we already have reserved a cabin for the summer time!

Good property
Was okay for being next to a lake and in the woods.
It was a nice place to stay with friends. The cabin we stayed in had very limited supplies and we stayed for a week. Had to reach out to owner a handful of times to ask for things. Like I said it was nice but room for improvement on a lot of things but they are small things that need to be done better. Would still stay here another time.
We had a great stay here. Our cabin was beautiful and clean and smelled nice. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable.everything smelled fresh and the linens were all nice quality and clean. The kitchen was a perfect size for cooking for a smaller group. The bathroom shower was awesome, good water pressure and lots of hot water. We enjoyed the use of the hot tub it was located in a private area and also was very clean. We are already planning when we should come back today summer with family and rent more of the cabins. Great place!!
I spontaneously booked this trip less than a week before going to surprise my husband for his birthday and I’m so glad I did! We loved that dogs are allowed so we were able to bring our dog along. Please ignore any bad reviews on here as the cabin was exactly as listed. Such a cute, rustic cabin with everything you would need from plenty of pots and pans, kitchen utensils, towels (we brought extra for the hot tub), smart TV all set up for Netflix/Hulu/etc, awesome wall heater that kept the whole cabin nice and warm for us, and super cozy, thick bedding. The hot tub was just few steps away which was perfect after a long day of hiking the beautiful trails of Marquette which was a short 40 minute drive from the cabin. There are trails much closer but we chose to drive to Marquette for hiking. There are awesome trail guides provided in the cabin to borrow which was a nice touch. Check in was super easy and covid safe as we never had to interact with anyone and the entry is keyless. The owner was always quick to respond to any questions I had leading up to the trip which I also greatly appreciated. Overall a wonderful trip and I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone looking for a little cabin in the woods with all the comforts of home.
