The Space:
Magic Bush Stay Yamba Hinterland by Tiny Away in the locality of Gurranang offers a one-of-a-kind tiny house experience surrounded by native bushland and abundant wildlife. The tiny house is self-contained with its own patio, fire pit area, and a small creek that flows after rain.
Just under an hour’s drive from Yamba and about 45 minutes from the stunning Brooms Head beaches, the property sits within easy reach of Lawrence, Maclean, and Grafton. Gain the best of both worlds: peaceful hinterland living with quick access to popular coastal destinations and local towns.
When the rains arrive, the property’s freshwater sandstone pool system comes to life. These are crystal pools infused with tea tree oil, eucalyptus, soap bush, and minerals, known locally as the healing waters of Gurranang. Nearby, explore day trips to Yamba Lighthouse and Bundjalung National Park, or simply relax by the seasonal creek and watch the bush unfold around you.
A cozy 139-square-foot tiny home with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and gas-heated shower.
Guest Access:
Guests have full access to the tiny home and surrounding outdoor area. Enjoy the natural creek-fed pool after rain and the fire pit in winter (when permitted). We're nearby if you need help or just want to say hello—especially if it’s your first time in the bush!
Preorders are available with 24 hrs prior notice:
- Firewood costs $10 per bag
- Potable water from rainwater is available for $5.
The Neighborhood:
Magic Bush Stay Yamba Hinterland by Tiny Away is surrounded by bushland yet connected to a region full of character in the locality of Gurranang.
Just 12 km away, the riverside town of Lawrence offers a corner shop for good coffee and supplies, a bistro on the river, and the chance to spot koalas in the trees. A short ferry ride takes you to Maclean, known for its Scottish roots, local supermarkets, boutiques, and fish and chips on the water.
Within 45 minutes, you’ll reach the coastal town of Yamba and the beautiful Brooms Head beaches, both loved for their relaxed surf culture, nine beaches, fresh seafood, coastal scenery, and the Yamba Lighthouse. Outdoor adventurers can explore Bundjalung National Park or head to Secret Lake just minutes away from the property.

- Accessible by both 2WD and 4WD vehicles
By Public Transport:
- There are no taxis or bus services nearby, so a car is essential.
By Flight:
- Clarence Valley Regional Airport (Grafton) is about 30 minutes by car.
- Ballina Byron Gateway Airport is around 2 hours away with more domestic routes.
- Gold Coast Airport is about 3 hours away, offering both domestic and international flights.

- Wifi is available
- No pets & children allowed
- Charcoal BBQ grill is available
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- All mobile networks have limited signal reception
- Smoking is allowed outdoors, away from the tiny house
- We run on tank water. Please use it carefully and switch off the AC when leaving
- Please note that more extended stays or late check-outs will incur an extra charge
- Don’t leave food outside. It attracts wildlife, including our resident pure-breed dingo
- Wear proper footwear when walking, be mindful of snakes, and respect the natural environment
Important note:
- The natural pool is creek-fed with native plant residues; no diving, and avoid using sunscreen or chemicals
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the cassette toilet and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
