"Great location. Check in was simple. Lovely pool area and service. Room was comfortable. Good breakfast. Staff were helpful. They allowed us to stay by the pool area for the afternoon after we checked out. Only negative would be having a room close to reception meant that we were woken by noise. "This property was beyond our expectations. It is absolutely beautiful and convenient. We stayed here with our family for 3 nights and everyone’s mind was blown by how amazing this house is. We also had an engagement party on one night that was arranged by Alberto, his mother and Carlo and the food was the best we’ve had in Sicily. They made sure all our expectations were met. Every little detail was so thoughtful. Rosella is truly an amazing chef. The welcome meal was also to die for. The house is out of this world but the D’Angelo family truly made our stay a once in a lifetime experience. We would come back here anytime."

"We’d found the lodging by chance as we were driving across the island. The owner met us in front of the home at 10pm, all smiles, and in the room we found every conceivable amenity from ear plugs to toiletries. Clean and delightful. The breakfast the next morning was set up for the two of us with place settings, fruit, a cake that was a local specialty, meats, cookies, and she even made us farm fresh eggs. Amazing! A nice surprise after a long journey."

"We thoroughly recommend the Villa Mario, Caltavuturo. For us, 5 adults, it was perfect because the double accommodation downstairs was private.We stayed for 11 days and the utilities were excellent. Downstairs has a utility room with fridge and washing machine & dryer. Each bedroom has A/C. Upstairs is the well appointed kitchen for food and drinks prep.The owner, Susanne, and Caretakers, Vincenzo & Lia were available and helpful when needed. Communication was prompt and no issue was too big a problem. In other words, you remained very much on holiday even when the normalities of life try to invade.We loved the pool which has a deep end which l estimated 2.25m deep. Of course there are steps in at the shallow end and the water in summer is the perfect temperature. Nature surrounds you.Cefalù 1 hr 15 mins, Palermo 1 hr 30 mins. Mt Etna (Piano Provenzana) 2 hrs 30 mins. All visited by car and worthy of mention. After a long trip out, we were often in Cafe Rouge, in Caltavuturo, to unwind with a very well presented Cocktail/Spritz!A bonus back at Villa Mario was the DeLonghi Coffee Machine. Watching the slow sunrise over the valley with sunlight filtering over the landscape is priceless. Helped with fresh ground coffee of course.Bedroom 1 (upstairs) has a walk in shower at the bed end which is shared with Room 2 (upstairs). Toilet separate upstairs. Downstairs have their own shower and toilet. Great for adult guests."

"The Pros Perfect Location: The hotel is in an ideal spot, and our room had a great location with a wonderful private patio. Excellent AC & Cleanliness: The property was very clean. The biggest highlight was having individual mini-split AC controls—a total dealbreaker for us. Dinner Perks: Unlimited wine carafes during dinner. The Cons Cramped Room & Zero Privacy: The room was very small, barely fitting a corner closet and two chairs. Worse, the bathroom was separated from the bed by only a sliding glass door, offering zero privacy and amplified acoustics. A solid door or separate water closet is badly needed. Poor Bathroom Layout & Maintenance: The trim and plaster need attention, and the shower routinely flooded the bathroom floor. Housekeeping also annoyingly left clean towels on the bidet. Impractical Amenities: The mini-fridge is too small to hold standard liter water bottles. Additionally, the pool bar is inconveniently located far away in the lobby, with confusing rules about using different glasses at different times. Misleading Value & Food: For the price, it is misleading that the resort is not all-inclusive—only breakfast is included. While breakfast was acceptable for Italy, dinner is not worth staying around for. You can find much better, cheaper culinary options nearby in Cefalù."
