Perfect for the deaf!
I felt compelled to write a review due to the conflicting emotions.
The service from the staff - the ayi maid and the waiter/concierge - was absolutely first class. The room was very comfortable and had a superb view. The food was also pretty good, just don't expect much from a bacon breakfast.
However! The noise! At night the sounds of karaoke from the town bounce off the mountains and hit the hotel hard. At 6am the construction from the neighbouring hotels begins, even on a Sunday. And worse, much worse, is the owner gathering with her friends from the local government to practice line dancing and singing with an incredible loud speaker at 8am on a Sunday. Just incredibly loud.
It's a gorgeous place and lovely staff but you either have to be deaf or have the Chinese ability to just block out sound to really enjoy it.

Quiet getaway close to downtown
Its a little hard to find since its down a small side road. Once you find the road, they have lots of signs guiding you to the hotel. It has great views of the river and you can see the fireworks shows at night. We rented mopeds at the hotel to get around and see the sights. Without a moped, the front desk can call a taxi for you.
The beds were comfortable (for a travel hotel) and the pillows were also very nice.
The manager can speak english and there is usually someone at the front desk who can speak english. It is much more relaxing to stay here and take a short ride out from the action of downtown.

OK hotel with a misleading name
Pros:
- Beautiful view
- Helpful staff
- Quiet location
- OK food served late if preferred
Cons:
- Not “riverside” at all (15 min walk to river)
- Swimming pool was not very clean
- Breakfast menu is expensive for small portions, especially the French toast
