expect 1 star

Exposed wires in the shower, dirt and grime on the floor. If you choose to risk electrocution you will be disgusted by the horrid smell that permeates from the shower. Dont stay in room number one. Great location close to the airport, if you can find a taxi driver that knows where it is. I have paid five times less for a private room in South America that was five times nicer.

a mi me gusto y voy a repetir, barato.,cerca a todo., la unica problema es que para los taxistas es dificil encontrar., hay que decir SAUCES 1 , Y Donde la Estatua de Jaime Roldos., tome la calle donde el esta mirando., una cuadra y se encuentra el letrero., HOSTAL

Hostal north star

Out of the way hotel, even the taxi drivers had trouble. Easier to just stay in the centre of town. Hotel wasn´t named so very difficult to find. Just had a star hanging from the roof. Airconditioning was good, but noisey.

Hostal Guayaquil, good value for airport layover

Basic, clean, pleasant staff, 24 hr service, close to airport, but taxi drivers had a hard time finding it despite having the full address. Perhaps better signage and driving instructions would help.
