Nice hotel but the area looks very rundown, hence the reason for the high wall around me the entrance. Hotel and staff though were very pleasant and we had a nice stay there.

The ceiling was leaking like a heavy rain, and even though it was repaired twice, it was not repaired. There is no compensation or upgrade compensation from the hotel. I will not stay at this hotel again.

Hotel had lukewarm water on the 48th floor. Not a must but it didn’t have room service either. Wouldn’t recommend.

We stayed there for one night. All power plugs didn't work, which caused refrigerator and all other electric devices couldn't work. When we talked to the front desk while checking out, the staff didn't give any explanation, not even said a word of sorry.

The location is excellent, in the heart of the city and very convinence. The room size is big and worth the price.

This is NOT a 5 star hotel, the room was icy cold when we arrived, and were told the heating system couldn't be turned on! The toilet was blocked constantly. Run down decor. Very poor!

Horrible service not fit to be 5 star
Drilling & knock noise- I speak nicely the reception & he mentioned that he will send a staff to my room to check also explain to me that certain floors of the hotel is rented out. I did my CSI and found out 22nd floor carried out renovation works. I leave the room at 10.30am but no sights of the staff who suppose come up to my room. The same night i complain to a few ladies at the reception twice and they denied my allegations and argued with disbelief until i show them the video. They called the manager and I request for a callback. I went back to my room x2 with no calls to me.   There are too many lapses in the communication between the reception, hotel staff, managers. There are no protocol or guidelines given to the tenants when they sublet out the whole floor to other companies.The nonchalant & disbelief attitude by the reception staff is horrible.   cleanliness also not the top notch with algae growing at the washing basin.  The table lamp also in faulty condition.  They seriously need some mystery shopper to deem their service rating. Honestly, this is not fit to 5 star hotel

Bed was very comfortable. Hardly anyone spoke English. Concierge service was excellent and willingness to go extra mile. Very convenient for shopping.

Ok for short stay.
Check in was smooth. All was good. However the rooms are dated. The carpet looks a concern to even step on without slippers. The tv channels are hard work. Only in chinese and should you want international selections, look elsewhere. Breakfast is a miss.

Loved Royal Mediterranean! An oasis close to the exhibition I was attending. for my 10 days of business trip in Guangzhou . Thanks for Ms. Helene for making this stay an amazing experience. Not a 5-star hotel.
I had reserved the room for a stay of two nights for my family. I already specified in the reservation that we are a group of 2 adults and 2 kids. However, there were only two sets of bathroom stuff and slippers in the room. I had to called them and requested for two more sets. They put me on hold for the first time, and hanged up. I had to call again…One of the closet has a broken door hinge, the door is unable to stay closed completely…..show door unable to close well, water leaking when taking shower…... At night time, the pillow is so low then I called the service and asked for more pillows. I asked them to send us 4 more pillows, and they "counter offered" me: "How about I give you two more?"...Negotiation on pllows!!...... The beds in double room are Twin size…. Not everything is bad, good thing for this hotel: 1. The room is spacious, about 600 sq.ft., very good for a family; 2. Every day they will provide some fresh fruits at the elevator lobby; 3. The rooms are at the 30+ floor, which allows you to make a good observation on the city’s old/new buildings

The Hotel: After staying here for several years... it's most likely my last stay. The rooms are run down and repairs were clearly evident in the room. I was extremely upset at the fact that they tried charging me more because I was a NON-SMOKER...yes you read that right. I clearly made a reservation for a non-smoking room and called China to confirm yet they said I would have to pay more if I wanted a different room that was on a non-smoking floor!! I finally convinced them that it's their responsibility to make my stay comfortable for the week I was there for. I was "upgraded" to a non-smoking room which was better but no way should I have had to argue with them over it. They did blame Expedia because those were the rooms allowed on the website so Expedia should take notice to that. The fruit flies are still there too....have never understood why they can't seem to get rid of them. The bathrooms are the only good thing I can write about, however, if I was not put into a non-smoking room then I'm not sure how that would have been. There is NO WAY this is a 5 star hotel so don't be fooled....3.5 at best.

This is not a 5-star hotel. It has nice physical plant but its management is like that of a 2-star hotel. The staff needs a lot of training to understand friendliness, consistency, care, and all other knowledge and attitude issues required for a 5-star hotel.
