The purple door at the bay.

  • When you see the purple door you will know you have made it to your vacation spot. You will find stunning views any time of the day. Then at dawn or dusk you will think you are in a painting. This property has a full kitchen, living room with 2 couches, two nice size bedrooms with queen size beds, there is a full bathroom with a garden tub with a shower. Then you will find a spiral stair case that leads to the 3rd floor with a couch, another full bathroom with a shower, another queen size bed and the best view you would ever hope to find. On the outside you will find a balcony and a private peer.

Finally, I also need to know what make, model, tag number & color of your vehicle that you plan to use while staying at The Purple Door on the Bay. If you are interested in using the amenities within The Captain's Cove Golf & Yacht Club they charges $15.00 a day, per person or $75.00 a week per person. Everything was very clean and the home was beautiful! It's not the most toddler friendly, but we were able to make do by moving everything breakable. We couldn't really use the one sliding door due to numerous broken blinds, but we just went out the upstairs door to get the deck. Overall we were very pleased!

This is a great property with a great view of the bay. It's tucked away in a quiet little neighborhood in a nice and friendly community. Chincoteague is close by and it's not too far from Assateague. The property management team is excellent. They were extremely responsive to our questions and requests. They were patient with all our questions. Kelly was fantastic. The best hosts I've had.

Nice view!

View was great! House could use a few minor repairs but overall nice place! Great location right on the water! Nice farmers market at the marina on Thursdays. Food from marina was also good.

Beautiful views

We enjoyed our stay at the Purple Door. The views were spectacular and we enjoyed sitting on the deck. My husband taught my daughter to fish and she loved the dock area. We did use the amenities at Captain’s Cove and drove out to Assateague Island to see the horses. The location is tucked away from major attractions but we got used to the drive after the first day. The neighbors were friendly. Enjoyed our stay !

All about the view and wonderful neighbors

Had an Awsome 8 days , views were amazing from just about everywhere in the house. Fishing was good from dock, crabbing was slow, a little late in the season. Beds were comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The restaurant just down the street had very good food, especially the fish tacos. No issues at all during our stay. Beautiful club house, indoor pool and golf course.

Perfect place to relax

My family and i spent a relaxing week enjoying everything about the house , plenty of fishing and crabbing from the dock , the almost constant breeze made the deck a perfect place. The house seems a little off the beaten path for the first day or so but once you make a couple trips to town its nothing. I wish i had paid a few days for the amenities but thats hindsight. If you're looking for a quiet getaway this is the perfect place

Purple Door Stay

Property has a great view of the water across to Chicateague. I could have sat on the deck looking at that view all day but the heat wouldn’t let me. Way too hot outside. Kelly was tremendous answering any concern. Only negative is if you want to go to Chicateague it is a 30 minute drive.

Best of Times

My husband and I had the best of times. We came with my daughter and her family. Staying where we were there was a friendly atmosphere. The home was clean, and my pets were allowed. We had some trouble with the tv service but Kelly along with the owner called me on the phone. Kelly then came by and fixed it for us. Right away at that. You won't be disappointed. Enjoy!

We had an amazing time at the purple door! We wrre able to brimg our fur baby which was a HUGE plus. After reading the reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. I arrived knowing we made a good choice. Its a very cute little place. There was never a claim to be a luxury, upscale rental. Yes there could be a few updates. The air conditioner worked fine for us in a heatwave. In fact, it was a little chilly. I would go back for the views and location.We loved havimg access to the pools. Met some really nice people. It is accurate that this location is kind of remote. Pack and pick up everything you need on the way in. Didnt mind the 30 min ride to Chincoteague and Asateague to see the ponies. Check in and Checkout was simple and easy. The only caution is if you have mobility issues, there are MANY STAIRS! Nice place to relax. If I ever came back that way I will definitely stay again. Communication with Kelly, the property manager, was so easy. Always available and responded quickly and was always friendly. Lastly, there is a keurig, bring your k cups. Drinking coffee while watching the waves from the deck is the best way to start your day.

This property is beautiful and even better than the pictures shown. Owner is very helpful and quick to respond. Amazing view overlooking the bay and Chincoteague across. At night it was beautiful and you can see the lighthouse out in the distance. 10/10

Great views comfortable furniture. My only complaint was need better utensils in the kitchen for cooking. The Weber grill crate was very old and dirty so we were unable to use it. There seemed to be a lot of repairs needed throughout the house.

Great for a getaway!

Great place on the water. We caught enough crabs off the dock to have dinner. Relaxing place to take the family and enjoy the seaside. I wish we had more time to enjoy.
