Fabulous Cretan hide-away
Wow! The Old Olive Mill is a gorgeous restoration, with a sun-trap courtyard for dining/reading/lounging and amazing views from the two balconies of the monastery across the valley. Blissfully quiet, interrupted only by tinkling goat and sheep bells and the little hoopoe bird singing its heart out from the telegraph wires. The village is tucked away, very quiet, with a little cafe and a great restaurant. Yet all this is only a twenty-thirty minute drive from Heraklion and Knossos. Perfect place from which to explore Crete, perfect villa, perfect holiday - and perfect hosts. Huge thanks to Manolis for the welcoming bottle of wine, recommendations for car hire, and amazingly prompt resonses to WhatsApp messages. We couldn't possibly have asked for anything more. Fabulous!

Great house, wonderful hosts.
Beautiful house in a small village. Close to everything by car. The owners are fantastic and communicate quickly. If you’re looking for a quiet retreat, close to the beach by car, this house is a great choice.

We had an excellent winter holiday in Villa Fabrica with our family. The cosy house is well-equipped, nicely located in Anopolis and the service provided by Evi and Manolis. To put it shortly, we definitely recommend to stay at Villa Fabrica if you are looking for a nice place to enjoy your holiday in Crete.

FABULEUX ENDROIT POUR SEJOUR AU CALME
VILLA FABRICA ,the old olive’s mill, est située en retrait de la côte, sur les hauteurs de Kokkini hani, dans le village d ' Anopoli, L' idéal pour découvrir la douceur de vivre crétoise ; les villageois sont très amicaux et souriants. La vue depuis les terrasses des chambres est superbe : monastère St. Jean, champs d'oliviers, communion parfaite avec la nature. En rez-de-jardin, la terrasse ombragée et fleurie est très accueillante pour les repas. Côté pratique, les chambres sont climatisées et le wifi est performant. Quatrième séjour dans cette maison et toujours le même enchantement. Merci à Manolis et à Evi pour la générosité de leur accueil .Ce sont des hôtes adorables qui mettent tout en oeuvre pour faire de votre séjour un moment inoubliable.

Peaceful Greek Village
As a Greek-American mother of Cretan descent, i wanted my husband and four children (ages 16-5) to have the true 'Greek Village Experience' and yet enjoy sandy beaches, tavernas, and Knossos. This house couldn't have been more perfect for us. The village was peaceful and the locals kind and welcoming. Kokkini Chani, complete with supermarkets, sandy beaches, incredible tavernas was less than 10 minutes drive away (yes, you need a car.) The house itself feels like a traditional home with plenty of space, inside and out, and yet has been updated to include all the modern amenities that we have become accustomed to: full kitchen, a/c upstairs (downstairs a/c not needed as it is naturally cool), washing machine, etc. The owners Manolis and Evy were very kind and helpful. Whenever we needed them - they were there. Even when we were leaving and accidentally left one bag in the house, Manolis came to the rescue and opened up the house for us within ten minutes of our call...at 4am! The home was about 20 minute drive from Heraklion and about a little further from Knossos. The monastery of St. John the Theologian is very close but as of early July was only having services on Saturday evenings (vespers) and Sunday mornings. My only concern would be that the spiral staircase (like any spiral staircase) might not be a good idea for families with younger children (under 4.) We spent one week at this home in July 2017 and hopefully, God willing, we will visit again.

Wir waren vor 3 Jahren schon mal bei Manolis, und auch in diesem Jahr war es herrlich! Manolis begrüßt einen persönlich am Haus, gibt Tipps und ist ein sehr netter Gastgeber. Wir waren bestimmt nicht zum letzten mal dort.

Une note parfaite!
Un hôte attentionné, une maison chaleureuse, très bien équipée, confortable et joliment décorée, la terrasse avec vue sur les collines et le monastère, le calme, tout y est pour un séjour des plus agréables. Il n’y a pas beaucoup d’activités ni de commodités dans ce minuscule village, mais les villes de la côte sont facilement accessibles à 4km environ.

Tolles Haus !
Tolles Haus im kleinen Dorf. Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen von Manolis's Sohn. Später brachte uns Manolis in den nächsten Ort. Ein Auto ist ein "MUSS". Parken kann man an der Kirche auf dem "Dorfplatz". Durch kleine Gassen geht es dann zum Haus. Das Haus hat alles was man braucht (KÜHLSCHRANK, KLIMA UND TERASSE AM ABEND...) Einen kleinen Dorfladen gibt es auch, wo man das nötigstes kaufen kann (Brot und Wein). Vielen Dank für die Zeit dort.
