Lovely Cottage That Is Completely New With All The Luxuries You Would Want!

This lovely cottage, Golden Glen, is a gem for relaxation and quiet in a perfect setting of serenity. It sets on the edge of 2200 acres of NY State Forest and lush woods. The back looks over a ravine with a stream, complete with a small waterfall. The inside is deluxe with a beautiful living area and fully equipped kitchen, 2 comfortable bedrooms decorated beautifully and all of the amenities of home. The living room is all part of the great room which includes the kitchen and dining area. There is a large gas stone fireplace for cozy evenings. The stones were all collected from the stream and surrounding woods.
The bathrooms are spacious and feature walk in tiled showers. Then there are the amazing porches!! The favorite spot of everyone is the screened in porch that runs the entire length of the back of the cottage. It is comfortable and the setting is completely surrounded by nature. There is even a hawk that has made her nest in the top of a tree near the house!! She has been there for a couple of years. There is a deck off of the upstairs bedroom that is a great place to star gaze on a warm night. The washer and dryer completes the efforts of the owner to make this a true home away from home.

Golden Glen is only 15 minutes from the quaint ski town of Ellicottville, NY. The town has great restaurants and small shops and Holiday Valley Ski Resort offers year round activities. From skiing and winter activities to summer golf and zip lining for the more adventurous.
Bring your bicycles in the summer or your cross country skis or snowshoes in the winter or your hiking boots year round, as the stare forest is full of groomed trails. Or bring your books and just relax and enjoy your surroundings.

We are only 12 minutes from Ellicottville, New York which is a quaint little ski and resort town. You can ski in the winter or golf in the summer. There are world class restaurants for fine dining and wonderful shopping.

It is the perfect place for solitude or a romantic getaway. I hope you will come and enjoy this special place on Golden Hill!!

Weekend Escape

This was such a peaceful and comfortable place to stay for family weekend getaway. Close enough to the restaurants and activities in Ellicottville, yet far enough to check out for awhile in beautiful surroundings, both inside and outside the cabin.

Perfect spot!

This was the perfect spot for our friends to get together and spend time together! It was the perfect size and had everything we needed. Such a beautiful setting and everything was updated so well inside. We absolutely loved it and would definitely stay here again!

We had a great couple night stay that was very relaxing in a last minute booking for a birthday. Host was good with communication and check-in and check-out were very easy.The home is nice and secluded and very clean. We especially enjoyed the back screened-in porch where you can enjoy a chorus of bird song from the ravine. Of special note we had fox and Barred Owl calling at night. The beds, and really all the furniture, were very comfortable. We brought a meal to cook in one night and had adequate cookware to do so. We will definitely be back as we loved the area as well.

Magical Mountain Weekend

Golden Glen is one of the most darling and enjoyable places we've stayed. Everything is exactly as pictured, even better probably. We had loved being there sitting by the fire after hiking in the snow. Bette is a wonderful communicator. Would love to return!

Quiet gem

The cottage was everything we had hoped it would be, and more! It’s even better than the pictures! It was well equipped, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the fireplace was fantastic on a 10 below zero morning! Two bedrooms in different parts of the house made it ideal for two couples. We would definitely stay there again!

Great to be back again

We had another wonderful stay at the cottage and truly appreciate the peaceful atmosphere both inside and out. The space had everything we needed to stay comfortable and cozy, especially with the weather in the teens, including great internal temperature, fireplace and bedding. The snowfall made it even more magical! Can't wait to return again. Thank you so much!

Perfect Retreat

The house is comfortable and inviting, even prettier than the pictures, and perfectly tucked away in a spot that felt secluded yet near Ellicottville et al. It was a wonderful week of relaxing on the screened in porch and soaking up the sun on the roof deck. Looking forward to returning!

Beautiful Country Comfort

Our family loved staying at Bette's place. She was super responsive and the cabin was incredibly comfortable. The gas fire place and screened in porch were highlights. It is close to Ellicottville and just yards from a park.

Great quiet getaway

Bette was such a great host and allowed us to change our reservation due to a family situation. The cabin was classy and stylish but sooooo quiet and wirh nothing but nature around. The back porch was great for reading and the upstairs deck had the best stargazing. We loved and needed the getaway! Highly recommend!

Quiet Time

We really enjoyed the beautiful house. While a bit chilly, we still bundled up to enjoy the beautiful back porch. The home was very clean and appropriately stocked. The host was incredibly responsive and we would love to stay again.

Amazing getaway!

We stayed here for 2 nights to spend a weekend snowboarding at Holiday Valley. Perfect location close to Ellicotville and it was so nice to have a clean, warm, and peaceful spot to return to after being at the mountain. The house was adorable and surprisingly spacious! Very clearly a well-loved and taken care of home, it was bright and clean. Bette was a wonderful host! Would definitely love to stay here again in the future!

A peaceful getaway

It was so peaceful and relaxing at this cottage. We enjoyed star gazing from the roof top deck , and taking naps on the screened in porch . The cottage was very clean and completely rebuilt based on the before and after photos we saw at the cottage - very impressive. The towns of Cuba, Olean and Ellicottville were a quick drive away and fun to visit . Highly recommend.

Cloudy eclipse but wonderful weekend and property

This was a great place to stay with two adult couples. Two bedroom two bath means privacy for everyone. The location was great. Wish we had more time to spend outdoors hiking in the state park. I’d like to come back in the summer to sleep on the screened in porch and listen to the waterfalls. Travel was made all that much easier because we were able to bring our furry friend.

Absolutely delightful! This charming cottage is a hidden gem, perfectly secluded yet incredibly inviting. Nestled off the beaten path, it offers a serene escape and cozy, elegant decor. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the well-stocked kitchen (utensils & crockery) to the comfortable furnishings. The peaceful surroundings and the gentle sounds of nature (softly running creek sounds and birds) create an idyllic retreat especially for a writer that doesn’t want distractions. If you're looking for a quiet, beautiful getaway, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

A slice of paradise

I had to be in the Ellicotville area for work and we found this cute cabin to stay through VRBO. We couldn't have imagined how amazing this cabin would be. The communication with the owners was easy. Both Madeline and Bette were very helpful and polite. The view from the screened in porch into the state forest is so relaxing. The interior of the cabin is beautiful and about as relaxing as the porch. We couldn't decide whether to sit inside or outside. The location is close to town yet far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. My family and I thank you for letting us stay at your facility. Truly a slice of paradise.

A Piece of Heaven

My Husband and I will definitely be back to this beautiful piece of Heaven! Bette is an amazing and caring person. She went above and beyond to make our stay one of the most memorable vacation. We absolutely loved the screened in porch and the top deck! We had family both weekends come and visit from Canada , and they were in awe about the cottage and the surroundings. We will always have beautiful memories of our trip and especially Bette who non stop works to please everyone! We’re looking forward to seeing her again! Mid-Winter getaway.

Oh gosh! We had so much fun. In our group, it was my wife and me, my brother and his wife, and my sister and her husband. Ages ranged from 50 to 70. The cottage was exactly as pictured. It was very clean and well decorated. We could appreciate the interior decor, including many older artifacts. The beds were comfortable, the dining table was perfect for our evening game sessions, the kitchen was well stocked with all the cooking utensils we needed. Not everyone is an outdoor type, but a few of us are. We took a trip to Allegany State Park for a nice hike one day, a trip to the Seneca Casino, and one day we took a walk " around the block" which was actually about a 4 mile hike. Just a heads up, it seemed like that walk was uphill the entire way. I'm not sure if it was because we were there in the dead of winter, but the surroundings were so peaceful. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone who enjoys the great outdoors.
