Mountain Maple Retreat is a light-filled, chalet-style cabin tucked into the mountains of Great Cacapon, West Virginia. Designed for group stays and shared moments, the home offers generous space to relax together while still giving everyone room to unwind. Vaulted ceilings and expansive windows frame the surrounding landscape, bringing natural light into the open living areas.
Living spaces
The main living area centers around warmth and comfort, with rustic wood beams, farmhouse-inspired details. You can settle in for a movie on the Smart TV, enjoy a board game with family, or simply relax with a book. WiFi is available throughout the home, along with a dedicated workspace for those mixing a bit of remote work into their stay.
Kitchen and dining
The open kitchen and dining area is well suited for cooking and gathering together. A full kitchen provides space to prepare meals, while the large dining table and island bar make it easy for everyone to sit down and reconnect over shared dinners after a day outdoors.
Sleeping arrangements
Sleeping spaces are flexible and group-friendly, with four distinct areas:
Loft bedroom with two queen beds (open to the main space, no door)
Main level bedroom with a queen bed
Second main level bedroom with a queen bed
Basement family room with a queen bed, a twin bed, and a sleeper sofa (open-concept space ideal for kids or families)
An additional sleeper sofa is located in the living room, offering extra sleeping options as needed.
Bathrooms and essentials
The home includes multiple bathrooms with hot water and bathroom essentials provided. Laundry facilities are available with a washer and dryer, making longer stays more convenient.
Outdoor spaces
Even in cooler months, the outdoor areas remain a highlight. Slip into the hot tub and enjoy the contrast of warm water and crisp mountain air. The wraparound deck, covered porch, and screened-in porch offer multiple ways to enjoy the setting throughout the year, with a grill ready for use when conditions allow.
The area
Great Cacapon sits in the Appalachian Mountains, offering access to nearby parks, hiking, and scenic drives. Berkeley Springs is a short drive away, known for its historic hot springs, small-town charm, galleries, and local dining.
Pet-friendly and thoughtfully set up for families and groups, Mountain Maple Retreat is well suited for reunions, weekend getaways, or a peaceful mountain stay where the season invites you to slow down and savor the moment.
Note
Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!
Pet Policy
We’re happy to welcome dogs to join you on your getaway! Please note that due to allergies, we’re unable to accommodate cats. A $29 pet fee applies per furry friend, per night to help cover additional cleaning and care. Thanks for understanding—we look forward to hosting you and your pup!
Longer Stays
For stays of 14 nights or longer, guests will be asked to e-sign a rental agreement prior to arrival. This agreement helps us comply with local requirements while protecting the property, and will be sent in advance for review.
Wi-Fi is provided, but due to the remote setting, service can sometimes be slower or spotty. We suggest downloading any essential content in advance.
Our home is located within a quiet HOA community with strict noise and conduct rules. Quiet hours are enforced, and fines may be issued for violations. We kindly ask guests to be respectful of neighbors and follow all community guidelines during their stay. Thank you for your understanding!
