"A lovely quiet place perfect for a night away. Clean and comfortable. Great host, always there to help out. Just be aware that the hot tub is a paid extra, something that is not mentioned but that is not the hosts fault. They are unsure why that information is missing from the listing. Hotels.com were useless at trying to sort that out. But don't hesitate to book this place, just maybe drop them a message about using the hot tub first. "The setting and grounds are lovely. The actual room was ok, although I had expected it to be a little more luxurious as a junior suite. There were a few things we noticed in the room - toilet flush was not working very well, the shower door was very noisy when closing and the sink plug was rusty. Also the TV in the room was a basic one with no smart features eg. Netflix or iPlayer etc. No USB plugs in any sockets. All these things I would expect for this type of establishment. The Spa was lovely.There is also a restaurant on site, Squires, which serves excellent food (dinner especially good). Food in the spa was not very good however. They could improve this - why not get the kitchen from the other Squires restaurant to make food for the spa? Staff were not as attentive as I would expect - quite a bit of waiting for someone to spot you if you needed something. Staff at the check in desk were not the most welcoming. Nothing rude but just not very interested or enthusiastic etc. For example when we checked out the girl didn't even ask how our stay was, were we happy with everything etc. This is basic and what every guest should be asked surely!? Overall we had a nice 2 night break but For the price you pay I expected more."

"The hotel was pretty good it had everthing I needed and was clean and tidy enough. The room was a good size and had plenty of plug sockets which so really do not. The thing I liked the most was the pub/resturant . The food was fantastic quality and all home cooked. It was some of the best I have had when working away most weeks."

"We only spent one night but loved the hotel. The location is great. Plenty of bars, restaurants and shops a few minutes walk away and a beautiful park opposite. The rooms were very clean and spacious. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Lots of seating in the lounge. On arrival by car, you hand over your key and your car is parked and luggage delivered to your room which is a nice touch. Would highly recommend"
