Being nestled in the trees and right on the water, it's sure to provide you with the "up north" feeling you need. Want to get out and enjoy the relaxing 500 acres of river-fed Trade Lake? Hop in the canoe, kayak, or paddleboard that we have available. Maybe a boat cruise or a day of fishing is more your style? Launch your own at the public access just around the corner and tie up to the dock, or contact us about a pontoon rental. Jump in for a swim, or just enjoy the views while reading a book in the screened-in porch or sunbathing on the deck. The kids will love the swing set and scavenger hunts in the woods surrounding the house. When the sun goes down, snuggling up, telling stories and roasting marshmallows by the campfire will surely create memories that will last a lifetime.
You could spend your vacation days with no agenda, or pack it with activities any time of year. The fall colors open lots of opportunities for exploring nature or crafts with the little ones. During the winter months the swans come through in flocks, swimming up and down the river showing off for your entertainment. Bring your snowmobiles and catch a ride on nearby trails, then head back for a fire and a warm drink. Rejuvenate with an all-natural cold plunge in the slow-moving river and warm up in the 6-person sauna.
Take in everything Northwestern Wisconsin has to offer. Whispering Pines is centrally located, 30 minutes or less from stunning hiking & rock climbing, with views that will take your breath away. The Crex Meadows State Wildlife Area has 30,000 acres of wetlands and forest filled with wildlife. Crex Meadows offers year-round enjoyment including an education and visitors center with a library, auditorium, exhibits, and classrooms. Don't forget to stop into the local Brickfield Brewery just 10 minutes away for a delicious pub style pizza and local brew.
We look forward to providing you and your family the relaxing atmosphere your vacation time is searching for.

Our stay at the cabin was the most relaxing portion on our trip to the Midwest. Fishing on the water near the cabin provided non-stop action for the fishers in our group. And the pontoon was fun to use on the lake for cruising and more fishing opportunity. We will definitely be back again!
My family and I had a very enjoyable stay. The cabin was clean and comfortable with what looked like an upgraded climate control system. The pontoon provided access to the lake and a place to hang out on the water. The yard was quiet with several mature trees that provided a shade a nice relaxing sound with the breeze. My family was very pleased and we look forward to staying again.
Liked the floor plan and gentle slope to access the water. Grill worked great, liked having 2 baths, and the beds were comfortable. Spent quite a bit of time on the deck, and also around the fire pit. Family made s'mores, enjoyed the kayaks, canoe, and pontoon. Celebrated a family birthday there -- would go again!
Loved the private wooded yard, had great gatherings by the fire, got to try paddle boarding, which was lots of fun. Loved that they had that and kayaks, canoe, and pontoon right there. Cabin was very nice and clean. Owner was great to talk. One night was raining so the covered porch was great to have
The house was very nice. We had a great time on the water for the weekend. We used the paddle boards a lot. When we were told there would be “limited” garbage bags I didn’t realize that meant only 1. Also no cleaning supplies to wipe down the table after eating or kitchen after cooking.
We really enjoyed our stay at the cozy cabin in the woods. The cabin had everything that we needed, and the hosts were very receptive. We saw lots of wildlife and caught many fish in the river and lake. Wonderful property.
We have been camping together for over 30+ years and this was by far the cutest, cleanest and best place we have stayed.
Thanks so much we will be back again for sure !! :)
The cabin/house has everything you need and more to have a wonderful vacation away from home. Sitting on the back porch listening to nothing but the birds and quietness was just what I needed to wind down from reality. My kids had a blast learning how to use the kayaks on the beautiful lake just out the back door. We would definitely stay again. Communication was wonderful as well with the owner's very quick to reply and very helpful.
Great place! Nice location if you want to get away from it all. House has everything that you need to have a relaxing stay. Kids caught a lot of fish. Kids also loved all the turtles and beavers swimming by the dock. Loved the ability to have the canoe and kayaks available to go explore. We had an amazing stay.
Really nice property with everything you need for a great getaway! Good communication with hosts and enjoyable things to do in town. Would visit again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our family gathering. Charlie is a great host and communication was prompt and helpful. Wi Fi and multiple living spaces gave our group some privacy and needed work capabilities. We caught two meals of panfish for our group of seven, as well as game fish. It's very nice to have the use of the pontoon boat and kayaks. The kitchen had what was needed, loved the grill, the beds and linens are nice. A glass of wine around the campfire was a perfect way to cap off the day.
We had a wonderful time staying here! The home was very clean and nice! We loved that they had everything we needed for our baby already provided. The boat was so nice to take on the lake throughout the week! Anytime I had a question they were very responsive! Will book again!
