Pet-Friendly Studio on Croftville Road


BIPOC Welcome!

Our very spacious lodging was originally built as an artists studio. We kept the open concept with amazing sky lights and lighting in the kitchen and shower room. Windows in the front of the studio face Lake Superior. Sleeping space is separated from dining and living space. In addition, the shower room is separated from the toilet room to accommodate better usage of facilities. Deck on the Lake is available to guests.

Recently added is an electric fireplace for that comfy feeling after a long day hiking or other outside activities.

I am pet friendly. Pets must be kenneled if left alone at all. You must provide your own kennel. Please relieve your dogs often to avoid accidents on my carpets. I charge $100 for damage fee for any and all urine accidents.

We have a kitchen with stove and oven. We also have provided a Keurig coffee maker, a hot water pot, an electric fry pan, microwave, instant pot, and refrigerator.

WiFi is available but no tv service.

Our shore has a beach area and an area with RIP WRAP- - huge boulders to protect the active lake from taking away the shore. Keep safe and stay off
All furniture must be covered if your dog gets on beds or love seats. Covers provided for this. I will charge $30-$100 for excess hair is found.

Studio Stay

The Studio was the perfect place for us to spend a 3 night get-away. We spent most of our time hiking, but our time spent at the Studio provided everything we needed, especially the wonderful, easy access to the lake. The quiet, beautiful, naturally landscaped neighborhood was relaxing, yet all the conveniences of town were just minutes away. Would definitely recommend staying at The Studio.

Relaxing stay

This was a cute open concept space. It was nice to be right across the street from the beach and be able to access a private beach. We really enjoyed our stay. The beds were comfortable including the trundle bed. I enjoyed how accommodating it was to bring a dog.

Relaxing and Convenient

Wonderful setting, with great place to take short walks with the dog. Very convenient location to everywhere. Sometimes did miss a TV to catch up on the news, but overall a very pleasant stay.

I love The Studio. Croftville is a very quiet neighborhood perched on beautiful and exciting Lake Superior. It’s a dynamic place to be away from everything yet so near to so much.

I can't imagine a more pet friendly place with a nicer location than the Studio on Croftville Rd!It was absolutely perfect for me and my pups! I appreciated the little touches like towels to wipe their feet and covers for the furniture to keep their hair off. The view is incredible and we loved the dock and the beach! We liked the grassy area across the road. Where the boys could stretch their legs and play a bit. I used the queen bed, which was very comfortable and I really enjoyed the view of the lake from the sofa and the dining room table.Thank you Lynn! Teresa, Zeke & Jackson

Relaxing weekend on the North Shore

The loft is very well equipped and in a great location. It's easy to access from Grand Marais and served as the perfect base camp to take in all the area had to offer. The loft is roomy, comfortable, and quiet. The only sounds were of the waves on the rocks. We Look forward to returning.

Croftville Studio

We loved our stay at the Croftville studio. It was clean and had everything you need to enjoy a comfortable stay. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking if you wished. We particularly liked sitting on the deck overlooking the lake across the road.

Great stay near Grand Marais

Very good for exploring Grand Marais and points north. Appreciated we could bring out two critters along. Unit is set up nicely for furry family members. Quiet neighborhood right along the shoreline. Comfortable space to hang out, appreciated the book library with the local themed titles.

Making memories at the Studio

Friends of 40+ years made more memories together at this cute little studio! Accommodations were comfortable for the 3 of us plus 1 furry friend. Everything we needed was right there; a well finished kitchenette, a cozy fireplace, a nice view of the lake, and great access to the lake in a very quiet neighborhood. Lynn is a fabulous host and was very accommodating to making us feel welcome in her Studio.

Simple and comfortable

I stayed with my 2 Soft Coated wheaten terriers. Close to town and trails. Road is quiet and lake is visible from property. Rental is clean and comfortable. There is no air conditioning available, so the summer may get warm, The nighttime temperatures were in their 50s, so it was perfect when I stayed.

Comfortable cabin with sounds and full view of Lake Superior

The large room with 3+ beds, kitchen, dining table with full view of Lake Superior was perfect for 3 yoga men who cooked, eat and hiked together for a week. We enjoyed the simple convenience of separate shower and toilet, well equipped kitchen and even the ability to trickle charge Tesla over night when in a pinch. The owner called after the check in to make sure we knew about the additional queen inflatable bed. The Croftville Rd is really a quiet promenade with a little of very slow car traffic and all the neighbors being very friendly. I highly recommend it if you don’t mind a single living area. The only improvement I can think of is a fan in the toilet room but opening the toilet door and windows when we left for the day took care of the problem.

COZY TIME

This was the best stay I've ever had in Grand Marais, and I will be making it my go-to for future solo (with dog) retreats up north. One word sums up the Studio: COZY. I came in winter, and that's what I needed. Lynn did everything to make this spacious studio cozy, even turning up the water heater so that the faucets produced very hot water when it was subzero outside! The overhead track lighting in the Studio made the space warm and inviting throughout. I will stay in the summer too to enjoy the skylights. Another win for this property is the view from the many windows: you're right on Lake Superior. For those of you with dogs who need just a short walk, the road outside the Studio runs parallel to the lake, so on those walks, you always have a great vista to enjoy. Croftville is just about a mile north of Grand Marais, so I was in close proximity to all the amenities I needed in town. Lynn is very responsive, and her manual inside made the check-in and check-out process transparent. Highly recommend!

We are repeat visitors of the Croftville Studio, since we love it so much. The location is ideal and Lynn truly cares about her visitors, checking in and making sure we have what we need. Our pup also loves it and we appreciate those small touches like dog dishes and covers for the furniture. We will be back!
