Lake Superior Getaway

Great location!!

This little accommodation fit us well. Food is near by (World's Best Donuts on the block as well as restaurants and coffee shops). So no need to cook. It was cool weather while we were there, so we turned on heat and were toasty warm. Shower was great! Beautiful view and owner was very responsive.

Perfect couples getaway

This was just right for our 10th year anniversary! We loved being right in town, being right on the beach, and seeing the lake as the sun is rising. Couldn’t have asked for more and had the essentials we needed for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful location

Such a beautiful spot. It was perfect for us. Right on the water with a gorgeous view of Lake Superior and within walking distance of so much in town (activities, shopping, restaurants). We would definitely stay there again.

A few days in Grand Marais

Lovely small apartment right on the lake. We stayed here three nights and loved it. Super clean and comfortable. It does not have a full kitchen which was fine as there are plenty of excellent food places within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again.

Everything was perfection! We have stayed here several times and it never disappoints. The view is breathtaking and we were so close to everything. The getaway is beautiful and always meets every expectation - clean, cozy with all you need. The owners is very responsive and makes it so easy to have a fantastic time. Incredible winter birthday get away weekend!

Weekend was fabulous! Mike was great, easy to communicate with. Incredible property to stay. We were enjoying a birthday weekend up the shore and it was perfect! The place has a beautiful view of the East Bay, woke up each morning to an incredible sunrise. Enjoyed coffee & wine on the beach & deck incredible views, walks to Artist Point, and great meals at the Angry Trout! We will be back. This was a perfect get away weekend and can tell it would be dreamy in any season!

So peaceful!

We loved staying at this Artist’s Point gem. The inside is a fresh cabin feeling, with vintage furniture and just the amenities you need for a calm, recharging North Shore weekend. Wonderful Eastern view over the beautiful serene lake, with a beach of sun-warmed pebbles. Worlds Greatest Donuts is conveniently next door, and Blue Water Cafe a short block away, as is the rest of downtown and the lighthouse walk. We were there for a bike race, so could walk or bike to all the events. It’s easy to hear the downstairs neighbors if that unit is rented, but during our stay, they were as interested in peacefulness as we were. The owner was very responsive to any needs we had. No TV in the units is a big plus, so you are encouraged to be with the one you came with and to enjoy your surroundings. We loved our time here!

Great location and close to everything

Location can't be beat - a couple of blocks walk to everything in town. Being right on the beach was wonderful, and the large windows gave us a great view of the lake. The only part that was a problem was the screeching seagulls (nothing to do with the very nice property, and not the owners fault) that seem to have taken over the town near the east lakeshore. They were *obnoxious*. On the roof of every building, on the beach, *everywhere* in the area near the donut shop, screeching constantly as early as 4:30 AM and all day long. Again, in no way can the owner do anything about it and the property was great in every other way. Minus the birds, this was the best property we've ever stayed at in the Grand Marais area. The city needs to do something to get that population under control, as they are a noisy, dirty nuisance.

Great location

Great location with the lake just steps away. The sound of the waves was great, as was the very close proximity to downtown. Some things that could greatly improve the stay here: 1. Seating: there was no comfortable place to sit. The couch is old, lumpy, in need of replacement. We brought along a fuzzy blanket and put it over the couch to make it a little more comfy. A new comfortable couch would be a great update. 2. Windows: the windows overlooking the lake were very difficult to open and one of the windows did not have a screen on it. I realize the place is old and weather/water effects outdoor function of properties, but feel something maybe could be done to improve this. 3. Sink: I realize this is a rather bare bones apartment, but no sink other than bathroom sink to wash coffee mugs and glasses. Appreciate the small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The place was adequate and I chose it because of its location/proximity.

This clean, upstairs property facing Lake Superior with it's private beach and little deck with beautiful sunrise views was great! The location was perfect for walking anywhere in town and was a close drive to trails. The bed was comfortable and there was a refrigerator and microwave but no TV. We'd stay here again

Perfect location - This VRBO has its own private beach access with direct views of Lake Superior, as well as very close walks to look at the harbor and lighthouse. You also have local restaurants, cafes, gift/clothing shops, and even a brewery in walking distance. Not mention World’s Best Donut is basically your next door neighbor. If you have or haven’t been to Grand Marais, this is a great stay.
