The apartments were basic but clean. The kitchen facilities consisted of a microwave, fridge and 2 ring hob. There was no kettle or teapot for anyone wanting a cup of tea, so back to the old-fashioned method of boiling water in a pan! No washing up liquid or dishcloths provided, but there's a well stocked small shop over the road.The bathroom was clean, good hot shower. Maid service 5 out of seven days. Entertainment every evening, though we never went as not to our taste. Main criticism, although these are non-smoking rooms, smoking is allowed on the balconies and you can't escape the smell of smoke drifting over the dividing walls and into your room. It was really unpleasant.

Tranquil break.
Excellent apartment. Nice quiet beaches close to location, or good pool if preferred. Quiet location. Well stocked Supermarket nearby. Room service excellent, not daily, but always as required.

Nice quiet hotel but spa at a surcharge!!!!!
So i booked this hotel as it is advertised as a spa hotel, this is the only reason i chose this partcular hotel, we arrived at the marina sol hotel and the receptionist gave us the room no etc then proceeded to tell us that the spa costs €27 for 2 people for 2 hours!!!! I was furious as it is advertised as being included or that is how expedia made it sound. In the description of the hotel it states that parking and wifi are at a surcharge but not the spa! I emailed expedia and asked them to rectify this misleading information and they agreed to do so but doesnt look like they have! It is a very quiet and very clean hotel. The apartment we stayed in was self catering but you could not really cook... theres no oven and a great lack of utensils. I couldnt even find a pair of scissors. Despite all these things we enjoyed our stay. But do not be misled..... the spa isnt included!!!! It also says theres an indoor pool...there isnt. Its the spa pool which you cant swim in. So dont make the same mistake i did. However if all you want is peace and quiet then this hotel is very quiet and clean and staff are quite friendly.

A very good apartment block with excellent staff. The apartment was modern and had very comfortable beds and good quality furniture..if you like walking there are ample opportunities towards Playa del Inglés and Maspalomas. The nearby San Agustín has a variety of shops and good restaurants. For travel further afield I would recommend using the bus service which is only 200m from the complex

Really good hotel for the price, we only booked this to sleep after late arrival so only slept then had breakfast before going onto the Lopesan villa de Conde. It looked the best hotel for the area and the breakfast was good. The wifi did cost €6 a day though.

Nice hotel in a quiet location
Supermarket is 30 second walk and had everything you need. However do not buy local brand of food. Although the hotel is located in a nice quiet location close to beaches; it is rather isolated and getting to the hotel requires a long walk up a steep hill with heavy suitcases. The room itself is very good, however if self catered, more cooking equipment should be facilitated. Overall a very good experience.

Not a bad location and hotel
Good that hotel not right in San Augustin or Maspalomas but 15 minutes walk along excellent footpath. More quiet and less tourist. Hotel underground parking space limit and cost 10EUR per day. However able to find parking near hotel or 10 minutes walk away. Have to pay for the use of the safe deposit box. Have to pay for Wifi even in the lobby. Did not get a room with proper seaviews despite selected for it during the booking. Can be noisy with spanish neighbours having dinner at 10.00pm. Also with room directly above the restaurant. Room is clean, spacious with separate lounge which has a kitchennette. Limited utensils and lack of small dinning table. If nights are warm, sit out on balcony for dinner with proper table and chairs

The hotel is spotlessly clean and Brilliant Reception Staff. On top of a very STEEP Hill , so no good for the infirm! An excellent supermarket opposite. Not near any Facilities or Bars etc. If you are fit and want peace and quite this Hotel is for you.

Great place to stay!
Stayed for 4 nights at the MarinaSol and had a great time. Had booked a room with no balcony, but on arrival we were upgraded to 1 bedroom apartment with large balcony and sea view. The apartment was very clean and looked like it had been upgraded fairly recently. The pool area was small but well situated. 5 minute walk to a nice and quiet sandy beach. Amazing restaurant - Bamira - right across the street (Michelin recommended) and a great grocery store too. 20 minute walk to San Agustin or Felitz Bahia for more shops and restaurants. If you're looking for a quiet holiday and enjoy being away from crowded beaches then I'd highly recommend the MarinaSol.

Friendly and very helpful staff, rooms were cleaned regularly. Disappointed with the kitchen facilities as they had the same breakfast menu everyday and DON'T serve sausages & baked beans!! Happy with the overall service.

Lovely hotel, a 5 minute walk to a beach
The hotel was lovely, and the staff were welcoming. Not a huge hotel which meant we weren't over crowded. There was no wifi but we paid €12 for 3 days on 2 devices, very cheap. There is a restaurant right under the hotel which serves amazing food, we went there every night. Two single beds pushed together, very comfortable, they didn't separate. The bedroom also had a huge wardrobe including hangers. Huge open plan and a lovely spacious bathroom. Couldn't have asked for more. The view from the balcony was also lovely. There was a pebble beach about a 5 min walk down the hill. Or in the opposite direction there was a sandy beach very popular about a 15min walk.

A quiet holiday away from the crowds
If you want to be away from the busy resort of Playa del Ingles then this is the place for you. The hotel is on a slight incline. The bus stop to Las Palmas in one direction and Playa del Ingles, Puerto Rico in the opposite direction is nearby if you wish to take any excursions. The swimming pool area is small but there are plenty of available sunbeds. Breakfast is adequate with a choice of cooked eggs, toast and cold meats. Additional payment is required for both the room safe and wii fi. There is a shop nearby which is well stocked.

A bit out of the way
I was unhappy I did not get a seaview. However I accepted that I had a room for disabled access. I asked to pay to move but they said my daughter was allocated a 3rd floor and I would share a seaview with her. This was not the case and they went as far as to say I couldn't have been told that. I really dislike being lied to. The hotel was clean and quite nice. Two of the reception staff were nice but one wasn't. There was a shop over the road, but really it is a cab or bus ride to get anywhere. One really good thing was the wifi speed. I paid 20 euros for the week. The view was very important to me as this may well be my last holiday for some time owing to serious health issues. Despite explaining this the hotel made no effort to help. Disappointing.

Beautiful quiet hotel
Girlfriend and I spent a week here and loved it, good food, really good and helpful staff, not too far from beaches. Nice pool and lounge area, really great value for money. If you go here you must try the spa!

Pleasant hotel with panoramic views.
We've had a very pleasant 11 night stay in the MarinaSol. Staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. Some can speak English more than others but this didn't pose too much of a problem and we didn't speak Spanish so who am I to complain about that!? ;) They were lovely. I would recommend this hotel to friends and I would certainly go back again. I wouldn't recommend this area for families. Couples and anyone wanting a quiet time and rest away from the hustle and bustle of life back home. The locals are lovely and friendly. The sand is black! Lovely restaurants with different cuisines and nationalities. WiFi was cheap and easy to login to.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful from the start. All.you need to know they will help you with and that includes phoning taxis for you and booking trips. The room with a terrace was very spacious for the two of us. No complaints about the size or amenities, however the quality of the towels was poor ( different sizes and even holes). The room was clean but there's always room for improvement. The breakfast was good. No complaints although anything more than 5 days you could get a little bored....but it's always fresh and eggs made to order. The location is great if you don't want to be in the mix of the busy strip. we personally loved the fact we could jump in a taxi for only 8 Euros to the hussle and bright lights. The location was beautiful...The stairs to the beach and the views were stunning. I would stay there again.

MarinaSol: The worst place to stay in Gran Canaria
We spent three nights at MarinaSol Hotel. It was a real nightmare. The hotel air conditioning was broken in the whole building, the cleaniness of the rooms was horrible. during the stay, nobody came to change the sheet or towels even we have asked for it several times. We have stayed in different locations in Gran Canaria, and MarinaSol was the worst place ever. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE.

Comfortable apartment with lovely view of the sea
Marinasol fitted our needs perfectly - Single mum and 11 year old. We found it easily using hire car and although arrived at busy time, staff were very helpful advising me to use hotel car park for the weekend and then no need as more parking available just outside on the road. I loved the peace and calm it gave us - able to use the pool below or take short walk to the beach for dip in warm gently surf filled sea. Supermarket across the road for all needs open every day so easy to get fresh rolls for breakfast or things for the beach. Marinasol is located a few mins drive away from larger resort areas of San Agustin and Playa del Ingles which I found great fun to visit but happy to return to the quieter area where the hotel is away from the hordes. There were plenty of places/attractions that were within easy drive from Marinasol. All in all - a very enjoyable holiday.

Travelled with a mixed age group to a wedding. Babies to pensioners. Pool area was perfect. Baby pool separate. Not many places to eat nearby but bus or taxi to San Augustan plentiful, quick and cheap. About 4 or 5 euros in taxi and 1 euro on bus. Definitely recommend it to anyone who does not want to be right in the middle of busy bars etc. So peaceful with fab views of Atlantic Ocean.

There is no parking. The hotel was difficult to get to with the entrance nearly impossible to find. The night staff didn't speak any English. The bed linens were stained. I'm not sure why this has a rating of 4.5. At best it's a 2.5 star hotel.

Very quiet place.
Accomodation is in a very quiet area not much in way of restaurants etc in walking distance. Dangerous steps/passageway to beach. Parking is not easy to find in close proximity to accomodation. No kettle in room.

Pleasant enough but very basic
The hotel is at the top of the hill and short walk from the bus stop, easy to get to and around the island by bus. This was a self catering room to sleep up to 4. In the evening we noticed the bed mattresses were quite hard and thin, not comfortable. There were only 2 pillows in the bedroom one on each bed and none in the cupboard. I asked for more and was told we had 2 pillows each, my husband then asked and was given 2 blankets! the following morning we discovered we only had 1 bowl for cereal. My husband went to ask for another and was told "we only provide the bare minimum" and was given a 2nd bowl, we did have 4 of everything else. He also reported the issue of pillows and 2 more were sent to the room. There was no kettle so we had to make tea using the coffee maker, we asked and got a kettle but when we unplugged the coffee maker, the electric socket fell out the wall! We reported this and someone was sent to repair it, however when we returned to plug the kettle in the socket fell out again, it was clear all the repairer had done was push it back to the wall and not fix it in. the bath towels were very thin and almost threadbare. It felt like the owners are trying to make as much profit for minimum investment and the place was a bit unloved.

An alternative option outside Inglish Beach area
Need to take a bus to main commercial and beach area. Bus stop is just a short walk from hotel. Friendly staff and clean room. Some facilities are not in good conditions (e. g. room phone is not functioning). Don't get that feeling that you have got a good value for the money spent.

I was very disappointed to find that the restaurant in the apartment complex advertised in my deal was closed! There were not any other restaurants near for me as a Pensioner to walk to alone at night. All other aspects were very good but the description needs to be updated as soon as possible. I hope to return again this year but will double check all the details given in the package are correct

We would have expected some more entertainment on site. There was a pool table (some missing balls) witch you can use but not for free, Internet access for extra charge only and couple of books for the guests. You can only use the spa facilities for extra charge as well. The staff was very friendly, we were pleased with the cleanliness, really modern bathroom with huge shower cubicle and a hairdryer. Fantastic blinds which not just keep out the heat but keep the whole apartment in complete darkness if you need a rest.

Nice friendly staff and the place was spotless.
Only complaints I have is that their was no kettle in the room and no freezer in the fridge, I am Scottish and I doubt they get many of us there, but I like a cup of tea in the morning and some ice in my dram before going to bed. Oh I nearly forgot, we had room 102 which was brilliant. Closest to the pool closest to the supermarket and right next to reception but the floors are concrete and the receptionist should not be wearing high heels on night shift, I could tell every time she went for a wee! Would certainly go back there again.

The hotel itself is comfortable, with large rooms – we had a one-bedroom apartment with a balcony with a sea view. There is a swimming pool, which is essential in view of the location. There is also a sun deck on the roof of the hotel, though it is very windy at certain times of the year. There is also a fitness spa, with gym, sauna, Jacuzzi etc, but there is a charge for using these facilities. The hotel is located in a residential area, on a high rocky part of the coast, about a kilometre from the centre of San Augustin. Because of the nature of the terrain, there is no road around the hotel which does not involve a steep uphill or downhill route. The nearest sandy beach is about 5 minutes walk downhill at Playa del Aguila. The large sandy beach at San Augustin is a 20 minute walk away – with a couple of steep descents (uphill coming back!). There are 5 or 6 restaurants (with bars) within a five minute walk – though most are closed at lunchtime. There are lots of bars and restaurants at San Augustin, while Playa del Ingles is about 5km away – a cheap taxi ride.

this hotel is located on a hillsloop, 1 km away from the nearest restaurant. They charge for everything extra: Internet, the use of the safe etc... No shampoo or soap in the bathroom, no kettle to make a cup of tea. Airco does not work. pool is nice, bedrooms spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was very very basic and if you are late most things are gone.

Very good hotel would definitely stay again. Had issues with the air conditioning as it seemed to be very hot or very cold no in between but still nice. Very little on the television and if you want it in english you have to search for the channels. Nice pool the only downside is that the sun went down behind the hotel before 5pm but that would have to do with the time of year we went. No Ala Carte restaurant on site which was dissapointing but very nice buffet breakfast. Not much in the are but still a very nice place

Decent apart-hotel in quiet location
The Marinasol is located in a quiet area next to Saint Augustin. The rooms are a good size and quite comfortable, however, they were not cleaned every day which we found a bit frustrating. The sea views from the balcony however are very good. There is not much night life around the area although there is an excellent restaurant located next to the beach that serves great food. Avoid the German restaurant next to the hotel as it is overpriced and the service is poor. Overall a good place to stay if you are looking for a relaxing break.

Var på hotellet en uge, men desværre blev vi ramt af sandstorm. Dette bevirkede støv overalt i lejligheden på gulve og møbler. Tøj og sengetøj fik også en dosis.desværre var rengøringskapaciteten ikke stor, så der gik lang tid inden der blev nogenlunde rent. Sengetøj blev kun skiftet 1 gang i løbet af ugen. Der var en lille restaurant hvor vi kunne få vores morgenmad. Meget simpelt.

Lugnt hotell
Väldigt lugnt och skönt hotell, vi var nästan alltid ensamma när vi solade på taket. (Vi var där mellan 1-8 nov) Där har man alltid sol, vid poolen blir det skugga på stor del av området på eftermiddagen. Bra frukost där man får ägg och bacon tillagat på beställning. Trevlig personal och bra resturang som hade öppet länge på kvällen. Möjlighet till takeaway om man hellre äter på rummet/balkongen. Negativt: Kylskåpet var svårt att stänga, lite köksutrustning, fick köpa diskmedel och borste själva. Långt till "shopping". Fanns dock en matbutik tvärs över gatan så behöver man inte mer än det klarar man sig gott och väl.
