Ultimate Family Lake Experience with 18' pontoon boat
Our lake home is what you are looking for. Level, sandy beach on a crystal clear, deep lake. Open, sunny floor plan with large windows overlooking the lake. The kitchen, with custom maple cabinets and stainless steel appliances, encourages family and friend gatherings. Informal dining area offers a versatile space for an intimate dinner or a larger family get together. Watch the lake and wildlife in the comfortable living room with a new sectional couch (fall 2023) or on the wrap around deck or in the three season porch. The knotty pine interior conveys a warm, inviting feeling.
There's plenty of sleeping room in this home with 2006 sq ft of living space. There are three bedrooms plus additional space in the three season porch or family room on the lower, walk-out level.
Surrounded by tall red and white pines, maple and oak trees, the natural setting ensures privacy and plenty of wildlife viewing. Sit around a crackling fire on a summer evening and listen to the bull frogs and loons.
The beach and dock are just a short walk down a gentle slope from the cabin. After a swim, paddle or a cruise on the pontoon boat you can relax in the three season porch or on the wrap around deck. The fishing is excellent in this clear lake and the only public boat landing allows only non-motorized boats. Our 18' Northwood Pontoon Boat (renovated 2023) to fish, to swim off of and to cruise is included in the price.
Leader Lake is a 160-acre lake that has a maximum depth of 56 feet and has a hard sand shoreline. According to the DNR, the primary game fish present include northern pike, walleye, largemouth bass, and panfish. Because of the limited public access, fishing pressure from non-residents is light.
WI-FI, SMART TV AND DVD.
The lake home is a 5 miles from Hwy 53. You'll find the basics in nearby Minong or Solon Springs; Superior and Duluth are 45 minutes away. Hayward is 35 miles away. From Minneapolis/St. Paul it's a 2.5 hour drive.

We had a wonderful time here, caught lots of fish, and spent great quality time together. We brought four generations along from 4 years old to 75, it was great. It is very peaceful we listened to loons each night and loved the wildlife. The boat included is perfect for the lake, we were there for a week and loved it, would definitely book again.
Great time! Place was as advertised clean lake nice beach. The house was well maintained and was very comfortable allowing for movie nights or games at the table.
The cabin and the lake were perfect for our family. This is our second year and we will definitely be back. We saw deer, eagles and caught lots of fish. I especially loved the peace and quiet of the area. Several really good eating establishments in the area came in very handy when we didn’t feel like cooking. We truly love this vacation home with it’s easy slope down to the lake and the large deck. The new portable air conditioner came in handy during several hot days. Thank you for such a treasure.
Spacious. Clean cabin. Clean lake water. Pontoon is suitable for lake size and provided fishing opportunities for the whole family. Excellence fishing. Lake not “over run” with activity. Bring your suitcase. They are stocked and ready to provide an excellent getaway.
Sight unseen always make me nervous but we were all pleasantly surprised. All the amenities were there except a/c. Which usually we wouldnt need but we had a very hot
week, so even the nights were not cool. The water was amazing, clear, warm, and not weedy and hard sand. Pier was nice and wide. The pontoon is older but ran fine and served its purpose. the push button start was convenient once we figuredcit out. With 7 people we accrued a lot of garbage and had to make 3 trips to the dump. 1st time we forgot the pass and had to go all the way back. Beds were comfy, bathrooms were nice and with towels a bonus. The kitchen was modern with nice frig and dining table. Only bad thing there was electric stove, for us anyway. But all pots, pans, silverware, cutting board, collander and cooking utensils were there. Even coffee and filters, even tho we BYO. The deck was nice but i think id cut down a couple trees to really enjoy that wonderful view. We had loonsdeer, cranes, turtles, frogs, loons but the eagles took the show. We had some badly hooked fish so the eagle swooped right down next to us and got them. we also docked the boat by the channel and had great swimming. I could go on and on but overall everything was great and all had a great time. The only bad part.
were the flies on the boat, which is no fault of the owners. Also, the upper bedrooms are connected by a patio door. Which was ok for the "kids". Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your home!

Great location and seclusion from neighbors! Fishing right off the dock catching panfish, big bass and northerns off the dock. Quiet lake with very few boaters!Accommodations were great for 3 couple and our grandson. Great space for everyone to sleep and relax.
We stayed a week and had plenty of room for parking and the cabin, beach and lake were just what we were looking for! We took a few slow cruises on the pontoon, listened to the loons and caught fish here and on the Gordon Flowage. The kids and dogs loved the beach and our 20 month old Grandson loved the lily pad. We enjoyed the view, grilling our food and sitting by the fire making smores. Definitely what you want for a vacation minus a few ticks! Lots of them in the northwoods! We would definitely stay here again! Thanks Dan!
The cabin was very accommodating-plenty of space for everyone. Four comfortable bedrooms, ping pong table, kayak, paddle board-everything water-lovers could want. We really enjoyed it.
Wonderful home on a perfect lake. Excellent fishing and boating. This was a very nice place for the entire family. The hosts ensured all details were covered. Very nice.
Our family had a great time at John and Judy’s cabin. The cabin is well equipped with everything you can possibly need! It was nice to get out on the lake with the pontoon. A good time was had by all!
Had a great time even though the weather wasn't so great
We had a great time even though it rained a couple days and got pretty cold a couple night. Of course our dog loved it no matter what, being off-lease all week was wonderful for him.
Very nice property. The pontoon was great! The view and the lake were beautiful. Judy was very kind and helpful. She was very easy to het ahold of before and during the stay. We would recommend this property for a relaxing family get together.
We were able to spend a week at this beautiful lake and home. The water was cool and very clean and we really enjoyed the use of the pontoon.
Thanks for sharing your little slice of heaven with us. We will cherish the memories made.
Such a great property! The week started with an issue with the pontoon, but Dan was quick to get someone to come look at it right away and then to find us a replacement for the week which was above and beyond. Had a great week fishing, swimming and enjoying the wildlife. The house is cozy and has everything you need to feel right at home.
We loved our stay and had a great time! I did take the rating down a notch for cleanliness. The towels and some sheets should be replaced. And there was food left in the fridge. But the cabin overall is nice and the land and lake are perfect!

Relaxing, Peaceful Lake Home
Very peaceful setting for this property. The home is clean and well maintained. The home was perfect for our family to disconnect and spend time together. The wrap-around deck was perfect for morning coffee and down time throughout the day. Daily eagle, loon and otter sightings were very enjoyable. The lake seldom has more that 2 or 3 boats on it at one time.
Beautiful lake, very quiet, house well equipped. Needs new family room furniture. Skylight leaked. Pontoon boat didn’t start and took on water. Seats on pontoon dirty and full cracks and holes.
Owners were very responsive and helpful. Reimbursed us for inoperable pontoon.

Had a wonderful time!
We stayed for a week in August and really enjoyed ourselves. There were 8 of us and we had plenty of sleeping room with the four bedrooms. The lake was beautiful and we water-skied, swam, and tubed almost everyday. The sand bottom was a big plus!! The lot is huge and we enjoyed games of ladder golf and croquet and had campfires at night. The Ping pong table was a big hit for the adults and the kids. Judy is very sweet and accessible, she returned our calls and answered questions really quickly. The only issue we had was we all brought our bikes and the long, sandy driveway was difficult to bike on to get to the road. The roads are very hilly and curvy and the younger ones weren't able to bike at all. Overall we loved the place and had a great time!! We will be coming back:)
This cabin fit our needs perfectly. We stayed with my wife, two kids (17 & 18) and my father and mother in-law. Beds were comfortable and plenty of seating for all 6 of us. The deck was a favorite of ours as it is large, has views of the lake and we blocked it off to corral the three dogs we had with us allowing us time to relax. The dock was great to fish off of and the beach area was sandy and perfect for swimming. We didn’t use the oven other than the first time we tried it and it took over 40 minutes to heat to 425. They have two charcoal grills there we used instead. The father in law brought his fishing boat so we primarily used that for fishing as the pontoon was a bit small for all 6 of us. 2 or 3 went fishing while the rest had a slow, relaxing cruise on the pontoon. We had unseasonably hot weather during our stay the first week of June (it was over 90 every day but our last). This made it a little more challenging to stay comfortable as there is no A/C, which we knew ahead of time, but there were plenty of fans to help. All in all, it was a good experience and we would go back.
This house and property are lovely. There were a few odd things when we arrived—not the biggest issues in the context of our entire stay, but they were firsts for us after many VRBO rentals and were just odd…1. Upon arrival, the key was not in the lock box, but outside/below the lockbox on the deck.2. When we entered the cabin, the deck door to facing the lake) was halfway open and unlocked. 3. The towels were draped over the pegs in the bathroom (rather than folded in the closet in the bathroom).4. At bedtime, we pulled down the comforter on the bed in the master bedroom and discovered the mattress pad, a top sheet, and no fitted sheet on the mattress. I found the fitted sheet, unfolded in the closet. 5. The dryer had unfolded towels and washcloths left in the dryer.6. There was a pile of unfolded sheets on the couch/side table area of the sunroom bedroom. 7. There was marshmallow goo on the cooking forks in the entryway. I am not sure why guests would put the cooking forks back w/o cleaning them and why they weren’t cleaned prior to our arrival. The cabin floor, counters, etc. were clean and the cabin smelled like Pine-sol when we arrived. I wondered if the caretaker/housekeeper simply ran out of time or was really distracted.Leader Lake is a clean lake, located in a pretty chill, relaxing area. It was nice to have access to the pontoon. No dishwasher in the cabin. We were glad there was one air conditioner in the cabin as there were heat advisories 2 days

Great "up north" experience.
We are a family of 4 from Colorado. My husband and I are in our 40's and our two daughters are 8 and 10 years old. We grew up in Wisconsin and we were looking to give our girls the Wisconsin lake house experience. This was a great place to do it. The pontoon boat was very nice as well as two canoes and a kayak. We brought two stand up paddle boards as well. The lake was perfect size and temperature for swimming. Great fishing as well. The portage to Bond Lake was fun. Amazing wild life. A bald eagle flew right over our canoes on day out on the lake. Our daughters loved swimming in the lake and fishing. We rented a speed boat for tubing as well. Very fun.
The sun room was perfect for our two daughters to sleep as it had two twin beds. The master upstairs is also very nice. The front bedroom downstairs is very nice as it has nice carpet and a view of lake. The back bedroom downstairs was just basic. When we had extended family come and visit we used all the bedrooms as well as a blow up mattress in the basement walkout room. Lots of great sleeping space.
The family room has a wonderful sectional couch that fits lots of people and is very very comfortable. It is nice having the kitchen, family room and dining space all open so everyone can be together. We watched movies, played games, and puzzles.
The fire pit is nice as well as big outdoor space for ladder ball and badmitten games. The grill is charcoal so bring a lot of charcoal bags. I also recommend coolers with ice on the deck for drinks as the fridge fills up with food quickly. The stove is electric. Nice stainless appliances. Even has satellite TV and wifi.
Overall, this is a beautiful lake and economical accomadations. I loved the close proximity from lake to house. Beautiful sunsets, swimming, and fishing!
