"Lovely hotel. Everywhere is nice and clean. The room was lovely. Free tea and coffee. Free homemade biscuit. Alcohol if you wanted to purchase. Nice garden at the bag that we sat in. Room was nice and the bed was really comfortable. There was a sitting room but we never used it. I had full English breakfast. It was huge and delicious. Great location. 20 mins walk to centre of York. We were going to The Barbican. It was half hour walk. Thanks for a lovely stay"

"On arrival we was welcomed by Richard who made us feel welcome straight away. We was given room 6 which was absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean & beautifully decorated. Soon afterwards Kerry came & introduced herself, what a lovely couple they are. The rooms are in a lovely peaceful setting, ideal for relaxing or even to travel the short drive into Bawtry. We would highly recommended you check this place out"

"Lovely place to stay"

"We had 2 large rooms for a family break. Hosts were very welcoming and went that extra mile to make us feel at home. Tasty vegan breakfasts went down with group and the availability of the breakfast room during the day was also useful. Very comfy beds. Nice to see the various friendly rescue animals / pets. Location is in a quiet street which is a few minutes walk from regular bus services to city centre / pubs / food. We plan to return."

Breakfast includes the traditional Those who have trouble with stairs should book the ground floor, those who can manage stairs be prepared for the narrow staircases and light sensors. "Good location close to the Minster. Room was on the main road side of the building, but we'll sound proofed. Some noise from the bar, but this is expected in a pub. Problem with loss of hot water pressure on the final morning was irritating, but these things happen. Clean and comfortable. We did not have breakfast so cannot comment on the food. "

"Great place for a short stay. Clean & good facilities bit of confusion over payment…. Thought paid up front but hotel said not… so this is main reason for 4 not 5. Also close to late night pubs/ clubs…. So if you’re wanting to go to see early… probably not the place for you as the music can be quite loud. However, not an issue for us & slept really well. Ultimately good value for money & would stay again."
