We had a great time staying here for our annual friends' fall weekend away. The place was very clean and we enjoyed using the hot tub on the deck and fire pit. Communication with host was great. Would highly recommend staying here!
We were utterly charmed and pleased with our stay at the Sacandaga Lake House, and loved every minute we were there. We skied at Lapland Nordic Ski Center every day, a 30 minute easy drive north up Rt. 30, and looked forward to our return to the house to enjoy the amazing hot tub and great fireplace. Super comfy beds, very comfortable open-design living area, well-equipped kitchen, the divine hot tub on the expansive deck, that also had great BBQ grills, which we also were delighted to be able to use. We were able to gaze at the constellations while soothing our sore muscles in the hot-tub, which was magical, even on very cold nights (well under freezing temps). The kids loved the loft room, where they could watch their own movies and shows, and the rest of the bedrooms were abundant and very comfy. We are already plotting our next visit! The hosts are extremely responsive and easy to work with - we couldn't recommend it higher. Even though we visited in February, it is clear that this is also a great place to go to in the summer, with it's own beach and deck overlooking the lake, and the docks and all of the fun things that accompany a lake house - this place has all that you could every want. Highly recommend! Lots of sleeping arrangements and well spaced out - plus the 2 full baths made for a great visit for our two families, that consisted of 9 people - there was still plenty more bed space available. Thank you SO much we look forward to our return! The Bosman clan
Super friendly communication with host - easy arrival access. Use of fireplace was nice with abundant firewood. Enjoyed the hot tub and appreciated the views of lake from the deck. House was comfortable and clean and perfect for our winter weekend away. Ample parking for cars in the driveway. Would rent again.
We had a great week here for our family vacation - the location is really good for us, enjoyed kayaking, walking to the bar/restaurant, and boating out on the lake. The beach is great, sandy and shallow for the kids, water levels are good in July. The house had enough room for all of us, and the kitchen is well equipped.
We had a lovely girls trip with all our kids for a couple days. They house has everything! Bluetooth speakers outside, an amazing deck, 2 fire pits plus a propane fire on the deck, and a bunch of water activities like kayaks and canoes. We all loved it.
The property was great for our friends get away over MLK Weekend. Three Families, 12 guests in total, fit easily in the house. The Loft bunk room was great for the kids. They would watch movies at night so the adults could socialize by the fireplace and watch football.
Chris was an amazing host, communicated the whole week before to explain everything. The house was awesome for the weekend, you can also see the potential for a summer stay as well, lots of beach front. The proximity to the tavern up the road was great as well. “Park and forget it” get away
Property was as advertised. Bedrooms, Kitchen, and living areas were accommodating. We used the deck, Barbecue Grill, beach, kayaks, games, fire pits and even the hot tub and all we’re great. Restaurant nearby which was good but we mostly cooked in. Samantha was very responsive and helpful. Ideas for improvements would be to organize the garage a little better and perhaps update the living room furniture. Hadn’t had my three siblings and myself together in many years and We all had a great time.
We had a group of family and friends- 4 couples and one teenager, and had a wonderful long-weekend stay!
The house was extremely well supplied inside:dishes, glassware, cookware and other kitchen gear, TV and watching options, great Wifi, bedding, towels, etc. Even better-supplied for outdoors: chairs, tables and stools of various styles (several full sets), firewood, kayaks, canoe, paddleboard and associated gear, outdoor games, etc.
The space is very comfortable. Inside, the kitchen accomodates people working simultaneously. The dining room table fit all nine of us (only slightly snugly) for sit-down meals. The great-room, with comfortable couches, love seats, and recliners, was accomodating of the whole party. Bedrooms (2 main floor, 2 downstairs, 1 upstairs bunkroom) are all comfortable and of equal value- no wrangling necessary to see who got the "best" room as they were all good- plenty of space and excellent storage. The mattresses in all rooms were consistent, and admittedly weren't a favorite of anybody. The teenager thought he was a king with his upstairs "castle" bunkroom. Both bathrooms (1 main floor, 1 down) are very nice.
Outdoors is where the property really shines. The deck is amazing, the hot tub was a hit and nearly always had a couple of people in it (technically a 7-person tub, very comfortable up to 5, would need to be "friendly" for more). Cornhole on the lawn, a nice firepit on the beach (one also on the upper lawn that we didn't use), good docks, good stairs down to the lakefront. Nice views of the water. Quiet- very little traffic on the road or the water while we were there. The tavern next door looked nice and was popular (although we didn't go) but was not so close as to be an annoyance. More than enough parking for our 4 full-sized vehicles easily.
We enjoyed a great kayak/canoe trip one day out to Scout Island, which had a nice beach, a picnic table, and even a charcoal grill. Another day's kayak/canoe trip explored down the bay and up the creek until it got too shallow to continue. Lots of wildlife- ducks, geese, egrets, herons, beavers, and more.
Great hosts. The house was spotless. Information on systems, house guidelines, etc. was sent in advance, clear, and reasonable. Samantha was an excellent communicator before and during our stay. We had a minor plumbing issue that was resolved professionally and almost instantly, with more apology than was needed. Great all around experience!
