Compass House is even better than the online photos show. The house is very spacious and was immaculately clean. We all enjoyed playing games at the dining room table.and visiting the Barnard Mill art gallery..
This cottage is tastefully decorated and in a prime location for all sites in Glen Rose. We really enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend the cafe next door for lunch. We could walk downtown easily too. The house is gorgeous and very clean. Would rent again.

This home has charming small-town feel with lots of character and all the amenities we need. My daughters enjoyed playing with the box full of toy animals in the hutch. The location is wonderful as we walked to the square for meals and shopping, and right next door is a fun cafe for lunch. The owner was helpful and quick to respond to me. Highly recommend this place.
Compass Cottage was the perfect place for us to stay. It is on the same street as the historic downtown, and we were able to walk to a number of restaurants and cute shops. It’s a 10 minute drive to the attractions we explored. The cottage itself is an incredibly charming mix of history of the area and modern convenience; the photos here do not do it justice. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed spending time in the home. Sarah, the property manager or owner(?), was very nice, and a joy to work with.
This is an adorable old cottage. All the furnishings were very comfortable and tasteful. The fireplace was our favorite thing! Kitchen was bright and spacious. The front porch swing was nice. It was only two blocks from the square and an easy walk to the river. The road noise was the only negative, but we just didn't take that into consideration when we picked the spot. Over all we LOVED IT!
Cute house, well-kept, and great location easily walkable to town shops and restaurants. The two restaurants we went to in Glen Rose were fabulous: Riverhouse Grill and Whiskey Woods Steakhouse. We did have trouble regulating the temperature. The first night we were freezing! It is an old and drafty house, so if you visit in the winter, be sure to turn up the heat well before going to bed. Very clean, shower works great but bathtub does not have a stopper.

Very clean, comfortable ! Our complaint was the traffic noise and the parking. Also there was nothing on the property that gave us what we needed to do checking out! But think we did everything that was sent to my e-mail after we had left!
Loved every moment we spent in this wuiet town. My 2.5 year old is a dino fan and we enjoyed the stay in this place so much. Its her “
Green House”. She enjoyed the backyard to play ball. Swing in the oorch to watch all kinds of vehicles drive by( she loves cars so it was a bonus for us). The host was very accomodating and patient with us. Thank you for opening up a wonderful place for us . We made memories in every room of the house 🙏
This was a great place to stay for a quick weekend getaway. Very clean, great location, and love the charm and character of the home. Perfect location to the downtown.
Property was just as advertised. Easy check-in. Owner is very responsive and helpful! My family and I enjoyed our stay. We would definitely stay here again!
We had such a fun time at this cute home located in Glen rose! There was so much to do around town including great food, museums n parks! Sarah was a wonderful hosts with recommendations and accommodations. The house itself was so cute and cozy my whole family really enjoyed our stay!
The cottage was beautiful and very clean. The beds were comfortable and all the amenities were in great condition. It is the perfect location to be within walking distance of the main town square, as well as just a few minutes drive to the local attractions. There was a big armoire as well, with toys and games that entertained my 7 and 3 year old during our downtime.
We have a 3yr old and 4yr old and they LOVED every second staying at the compass cottage! The location is perfect. Its walking distance from tasty restaurants and close to dinosaur valley exactly what we needed. The home was unique and adorable. I thought it was such a cute addition to have my name on the netflix account upon arrival. Small touches to show the home owner cares.
The charm of this cottage is amazing! Such a comfortable and relaxing place. Wish we had booked more days this stay but we will for sure be back soon! Everything from the cozy living room to the comfortable beds in each of the 3 bedrooms to the large kitchen..the gracious dining area...the big bathroom with clawfoot tub..and the inviting front porch with swing and a table and chairs is just amazing!
A short stroll to visit the shops in historic town square.

Terrible host, hidden cameras likely
The host is very very picky, has no instructions for checking out of the property but expects home to be in perfect condition. We stayed for 5 days, took out the trash, loaded the dishes, and piled the towels in the bathroom for the cleaner. An hour after checkout, the host said her cleaner said the home was in poor condition. A child accidentally threw up on a rug in the bedroom and we cleaned it and she knew about it (illegal recording in bedroom). The host wouldn't let us have friends over for dinner during our stay, because she is so worried about her home getting damaged. THEN DON'T LIST A HISTORIC HOME FULL OF ANTIQUES ON VRBO!!! We did not damage any thing and left it in better shape than if we had stayed at a hotel. I think she has hidden cameras and wants to claim the damage waiver I purchased. This host is recording you illegally and will likely claim you damaged her home. Stay at your own risk.
