We love the location and convenience of staying at the south beach condos. Plenty of space to spread out, well stocked kitchen - a great place to stay at the Homestead!
We loved the convenient location so close to town and right on the beach. We’ll be back!

Five star view and location, three star condo.
The view and location can’t be beat! Kitchen has all the tools you could need, WiFi works really well, and lots of space for your family. Ample parking. Be prepared for three flights of stairs to reach the condo, outdated but functional bathrooms, and all the basics provided.

Great views from a dated condo
The size, location, and views of this condo are fantastic. The amenities are lacking given the price of this unit. Kitchen and bathrooms were state of the art in 1990 and could use some TLC.

Condo 25
The condo was decorated very nicely.
There were some issues to be aware of. The electrical in the upstairs bathroom kept tripping and we could not use a hairdryer. In the downstairs shower the light did not work. Also, a little concerned about the water damage in the main bedroom ceiling and if it is mold.
FYI a mirror in the upstairs bedroom fell off the wall.
By no means we are not being negative we just want you to be aware.
We thoroughly enjoyed the views, shopping and dining.

Beautiful location and property
Location was perfect. Close to town - walk about 1 mile and go kayaking, shopping or grab a bite. Easy 6.2 mile bike ride to sleeping bear dunes. Drive 20-40 miles and go to wineries, downtown traverse city, or restaurants.
View off both decks gorgeous ! Property is comfortable and stocked with basic needs. Bring your own kitchen supplies and TP if you like better quality!!
Bed options are plentiful but not super comfortable. Brought a topper and that helped a lot.
Some areas of condo are run down (could use some updating)and have water damage.
Easy to look past all of the little downfalls because of the location and view.
Property management was very responsive and always helpful even with dumb questions.
Cleanliness could have been better. Be prepared to wipe down surfaces, refrigerator and clean dishes before use if you like the assurance. A few towels did not smell fresh either. The good news is that all the cleaning supplies are available including laundry detergent.
Although I remarked on a few negative details, I would definitely stay here again. My overall experience was very nice!
The condo has a lovely view of Lake Michigan, and is well appointed, although bathroom lighting over the mirrors could sure use an update. A little explanation that the number for #25 takes some searching would be helpful. (A kind neighbor explained the numbering on the three stories for us, and that we could park in the "25 slot" The key takes a little creative persuasion to work well in the door (maybe just too many copies) but I figured out how to back it off by about an eight of an inch and it opened. The repairs and construction on the balcony and building exterior detracted from the peace and quiet of an early season stay, but workers did a great job cleaning up after daily shifts. Hauling gear up those three flights can be a bit of a workout, but that's probably the tradeoff for a great view. We couldn't find any dishwasher "pods" and were confused by the garbage instructions, as we were trying to figure out whether or not garbage is picked up every day (and never found the "green tote" for recycling. Minor things--just wanted to mention. Overall, a very pleasant stay, except for the pounding and sawing, and even so, sunset on the first day was worth the adventure.
Before our trip, we were trying to figure out logistics - Vacasa had some really confused customer service reps who told us that the closest parking was 20 minutes away. It took several back & forth to figure out that we could park right in front of the unit. Overall, things were very charming and nice with some points that clearly needed a bit more maintenance. We would have enjoyed having a few more mugs and towels so that they don't all need to be cleaned immediately. The GFCI electrical outlet in the upstairs bathroom kept popping, cutting the lights. The en suite main floor bathroom sink as well as the upstairs tub had trouble draining. The unit could use a foot rinse tub so that beach users don't track sand into the unit. When we arrived, there were no garbage bags, so we had to purchase our own. There were not enough dishwasher pods. The grill on the deck needed a cleaning, and didn't work. The pillows were old and mostly used up. However, these are all shallow issues, and with a touch of care this place could be amazing. The view is stunning, the location is awesome (we walked down the beach with the kids to go into Glen Arbor), and in spite of some of the maintenance issues, it was a sweet and comfortable place to stay.
We loved our visit to this adorable property at The Homestead!! We only had a slight snafu getting to the right location. (The address in the hyperlink led us to the wrong building.) Once we arrived, we were in Heaven!! The views were gorgeous and we loved visiting the nearby towns on the Leelenau Peninsula! The weather was perfect too! Highly recommend!!
good location BUT the unit was dirty, smelled of mold. It had old food dripping from oven rack, a sour smelling refrigerator, mold in main bath room shower, and bathrooms that smelled like an outhouse. Sheets that were threadbare wrinkled and dirty. The floor had stains in a line as if a garbage bag was dripping on the way out. Old sheets crumpled on floor in closet
The best thing about this condo was the view of Lake Michigan and North and South Manitou Islands. Great location -access to a long beach for walking and a short drive to many scenic hikes. It had plenty of living and bedroom space for our family of 4 adults and 2 teens. The galley kitchen was well-furnished but a little small - one chef at a time. Firm beds with nice linens. "Upper level" means 2 1/2 flights of stairs - no elevator. Definitely would return if in the area.
