where to begin... this property was absolutely perfect for what we were looking for. we needed a place that was close to shops because we didn't rent a car, and also close to ways to get around via public transportation. this place hit both of those marks and then some.
it started off with excellent communication with the manager. she made us feel very welcome and checked up on us every couple of days to make sure we were enjoying our vacation. she went above and beyond due to covid restrictions and told us how to make sure we received our 2nd day test.
after making sure we were safe as if we were her own family, she pointed out several places of interest for food and entertainment.
she was really easy to work with and answered every question we had flawlessly. i will be keeping her on hand for any future glasgow visits.
We really liked the location. It's close - walking distance - to grocery stores. It was close to the motorway, easy to get into Glasgow and out. Parking was very spacious; we're used to very restricted parking and very narrow streets, so this location at the end of the street was nice.
The property needed better cleaning. There was a box of toys in the sunroom that had a lot of dirt and other trash in it, clearly hadn't been looked at by the landlord. Since we didn't have any little kids with us, this wasn't an issue.
About half the dishes and cutlery weren't very clean, like the last tenant didn't wash them properly, so we gave up and re-washed everything.
The fridge also seemed to be unable to keep things at a proper temperature; we had milk go bad in just a few days.
We really appreciated the washer in the unit.
Maintaining a comfortable temperature was difficult. We're still not used to radiators, so that's mostly on us. Still, it would have been nice to have better instructions for Americans.
Communication was a little odd ... the landlord contacted me on WhatsApp while I was still in the airport to ask me to send a damage deposit through paypal. I was a little wary of this, but without the deposit, I couldn't get the keys. After we checked out, the deposit was returned, but we took a hit on the conversion rates back to US dollars. I would have rather had the damage deposit done through the VRBO platform, but whatever.
Overall, the property was nice given its location, the number of bedrooms, and such. There were just some weird things about it. Our stay as pleasant enough, though, and nothing was so bad we felt like we needed to raise it to the landlord immediately.

This property is not well maintained, updated and appears very lived in. The heating wasn't working properly, the upstairs toilet ran constantly, there was one threadbare bath towel per person and many other problems. We had booked for one week and left after one night. The host was very responsive and refunded our money without any problems. We have stayed in VRBO properties all over the world, but this was our first bad experience.
We truly enjoyed our stay at this property. The host was very kind and accommodating to all of our requests and needs. The property photos were accurate to the listing and the bedrooms/living area was spacious and comfortable. Within walking distance to a coffee shop and multiple grocery stores was also a bonus. Quick 10 minute uber/taxi to Glasgow City Center.
