"We were checked into a room that had a broken bathroom sink faucet we didn't get to use. Front desk staff were notified. The Wifi connection is also not good; it's really slow."
"Parking is in the back and there is no signage telling you that. The evening staff was so rude I found different accommodations for my second night in town. I was still charged for the second, and I didnt even care because it was better than staying here and being treated horribly. The pool was suppose to be open and wasnt. They are not totally handicap accessible on the 3rd floor at least. The elevator smelled like alcohol too. All things i could tolorate except rude staff is a huge no for me. I would not recommend this place."
Private Lodge on Private Lake, Embarrass MN. Boat & Motor Cable WiFi Internet
10/10 Excellent
"If I could give this place more than five stars, I would. We booked this private lake lodge for my husband’s birthday, and it was exactly what we needed. The moment we arrived, everything slowed down. The stillness, privacy, and open sky are something you just don’t find anymore. This cabin is cozy rustic done right—warm, inviting, and thoughtfully put together in a way that makes you feel comfortable immediately. Every detail adds to the experience, from the peaceful lake views out every window to the quiet that surrounds you day and night. We brought his 18-year-old son, and he loved it just as much. Being on the water, unplugging, and having true peace and quiet gave all of us a chance to reset and actually be present together. The privacy is incredible—it truly feels like your own little world. The boat, dock, fire pit, and trees wrapping around the property create that hidden escape feeling that’s hard to describe. Mitch was an exceptional host—genuinely kind, responsive, and very accommodating. You can tell he takes pride in making sure guests feel welcome and taken care of. Everything was seamless from start to finish. I almost don’t want to leave this review because I’d love to keep this place to myself, but it’s too special not to share. We will absolutely be back."
"We really enjoyed staying at this cottage. The home had several little personal touches and was decorated nicely. It had everything we needed for our stay. It was larger than I was expecting, but suited our needs nicely. We stayed for three nights. The most important thing for me in a rental is cleanliness. This place was spotless! Loved it! The owner was very kind and communicated very well.We were there for a family event, and the location was perfect. We were able to go to town just a few miles away, and come back to a nice quiet place of our own. We were just far enough outside of town to see deer at twilight one night. I would love to see it in the summer, it sits right on the edge of the woods and I’m sure it’s just gorgeous in the summer. Across the street is a nice walking path and not too far down the road is à lake. We were visiting in the winter so the lake was frozen over, but I understand that it’s a good fishing lake and there’s even a little area for people to go swimming. Lots of picnic I would love to stay here again, perhaps for a longer visit. The house has a nice back deck, a three seasons room a grill and a view of the woods. Can’t ask for much more than that."
