Lovely Stay

Lovely stay and a very nice location. Close to Gettysburg and surrounding sites. Very clean, great beds and quanit home. Wonderful to see families fishing on small lake across the street. My family and I had a wonderful time.

Relaxing Fall Getaway

The house was comfortable with spacious rooms. Loved the large kitchen great for cooking a meal or just hanging out with a bottle of wine and apps after a day of exploring in the orchards and small towns. The host provided good info and responded right away to our inquiries.

Exactly what we wanted

We brought our grandson with us to visit the Gettysburg sites. That experience was wonderful, but so was having a fishing hole across the street. The house was comfortable and quiet. The countryside was gorgeous on our rides to and from town. Our hosts were very accommodating and friendly.

Weekend Getaway (ski/snowboarding)

Overall we had a nice stay in this cozy home. Super cute house, upstairs set up w/2 bedrooms, loft and a very large bathroom. This worked out well with my 3 young adult kids and their friends. Pool table in basement was a pleasant surprise. It is about a 15 minute drive to any store/restaurant. check-in was at 4:00 we arrived around 4:20 and cleaning lady was still there. The 1st floor bedroom (queen) mattress is not very comfortable, my kids said the other beds were great. Walls are very thin, we could hear everything, but it is an older home and to be expected.

Charming, Cool & Comfortable

This house is brimming with charm, is bigger than it looks in photos. We enjoyed a beautiful week in Gettysburg, and it was hot! How nice to return to a cool and comfortable house in the evenings! The kitchen is spacious and beautiful. Our family enjoyed cooking breakfasts and dinners together. The biggest frying pan is cast iron, and if you aren’t used to that or know how to properly season it, maybe bring your own. I also didn’t see a crockpot, but we had brought one. As noted in other reviews (and as the owner admits) there are ants. If you keep the area clean and crumb free (including the placemats), it’s not a problem. The pool table was a hit with my teen-age son and young adult children—they played pool every evening. We never made use of the nice back yard area with the fire pit, and my husband did a little fishing across the road, but mostly we enjoyed the comforts inside. (Do bring your camp chairs if you want to make use of the fire pit.) The beds and living room furniture were comfy. My kids all remarked on that. The downstairs bathroom is a bit of a tight fit, but very clean. The upstairs bathroom is spacious and awesome! We are used to country living and preferred this location outside the Gettysburg bustle. We watched deer come out in the evening and enjoyed the orchards and countryside; the drive into Gettysburg never seemed long. This was our most favorite rental home to date.

Despite the chaos from the previous renters, the host worked tirelessly to get us in the house. They were absolutely fantastic to work with. The house was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. I would highly recommend renting from them. The drive to and from Gettysburg was only about 15 minutes which worked perfectly for us. The bonus was the pond across the street that we were able to fish at. I would most definitely rent this home again.

The owner was easy to communicate with and always responded in a timely manner. The house was in a great location to enjoy a walk around the pond and easily drive to downtown Gettysburg. We enjoyed spreading out and cooking in the large kitchen with family.

Quaint and Quiet

The house was everything it said very quaint, quiet, and good for a family. All the beds are comfortable with plenty of hot water. My only caution would be that the kitchen isn't equipped for major meal fixing if that's something you are preparing.

My husband, father and I just spent 8 nights at this property. The front porch was completely covered which allowed us to sit out and enjoy the peaceful location even with lots of rain. The pond across the street was generous with its bass! We caught around 10, with a few smaller fish. Toured Gettysburg battlefields and museum which was just 13 minutes away! Would definitely recommend this property if you like a quiet, relaxing area.
