This cabin sits just off Ski Mountain Road at an elevation of 2,432 ft and is just a short drive to the national park. If you are into winter sports, snow skiing or snowboarding, this cabin is just .3 miles from the Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort, as well as 3 miles to the heart of downtown Gatlinburg and entrance to the Smoky Mountain National Park. We have spared no expense and want your trip to Gatlinburg, TN to be one that will make memories that will last for a lifetime. We offer top of the line mattresses, charging ports and all of the conveniences travelers dream of...all while embracing the rustic mountain ambiance that nature has to offer.
Our close proximity to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park means there is lots of wildlife in our area - black bears, deer, wild turkeys, raccoons, coyotes, fox, and more! Black bears visit the cabin often in Spring, Summer and Fall. You may get lucky and catch a glimpse of one of these residents while enjoying the view from the deck. We also contract regular monthly pest services which treat for all pests from multiple types of bugs, mice, etc. Despite our regular treatments, given the proximity of the cabin to the park, it is possible these pests can temporarily enter the cabin. We immediately respond and treat if anything comes up and have found it is rare to come across anything like this.
Once you visit Can't Bear to Leave cabin, you will want to come back season after season....see you soon!

We loved our stay at the property. The owner was wonderful to work with. Great location and very scenic. Bear watching on the front porch was our favorite. We would definitely stay again.
We enjoyed our stay here and thought the property was in a great location. Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, spacious living area/kitchen, beds were very comfortable, and the kids and adults enjoyed the gaming consoles.
Our kids loved all the games, and really enjoyed this cozy cabin! Great proximity to the Ober mount ski resort, and Gatlinburg town made it nice and easy to go on day trips and get the kids back to Cabin for some rest without having to travel far.
Great cabin in excellent location. Loved the floor plan. Quiet yet close to the action. We saw 3 bears stroll across the road one morning. Enjoyed sitting on the front porch reading a book.
This cabin was just what we wanted! It was clean, cozy and comfortable! The grandkids loved the free gaming systems! It was very fun and enjoyable! Hoping to get to go back in the future!
My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Can't Bear to Leave cabin. My two littles enjoyed the video games and racing car, which gave the adults time to visit. Win-win!! Cabin was clean upon arrival, beds and living room furniture extremely comfortable. We loved being so close to the attractions, but also enjoyed the quiet moments and peacefulness we experienced in the beautiful surroundings of this wooded cabin property. Top notch amenities on site. Location, location, location! The heating/cooling system was easy to control, and we were well comforted and stayed warm with the extra blankets provided. I greatly appreciated the prompt and easy communication from our host, Katrina, the informative guest book in the cabin, and the easy access upon our arrival. These all made for a most memorable family trip in the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains. We will definitely return! Thank you,Michelle Meissner
Cabin was very spacious for 8 adults and conducive for family activities with a large dining table and TV viewing area. All amenities were in working order and enjoyed by everyone. High quality linens in bedrooms and bathrooms were a plus. Owner was very responsive to all inquiries. Can't go wrong with Can't Bear to Leave. A must stay.
The kids really enjoyed the bunk room with the video games. However, that particular room didn’t cool off like the rest of the cabin. Overall, it was a great experience.
We were 3 families with kids ranging 2-8. Property was clean, on a great location, and overall very cozy! Well equipped kitchen and bathrooms. Game room was a welcome bonus indeed. While there could be more comfortable pillows and extra bedding and towels for the longer stay, overall our experience was 10/10!
We had a great time! Loved the cabin, plenty of room. Had a small problem with the dishwasher, contacted the host and they were very quick to respond. Booking and checking in and out were great. Didn't get to wall around by the cabin because of the bears, they were there to greet us every morning and evening . The deck is very large, thats were we spent most of our time. The pool was right behind the house, we enjoyed that also. Would definitely stay again. The only thing I would add is more lighting , the downstairs in the front of the house was a little dark, and that is with all the lights on. Thanks for a great vacation!!Mrs. Rosey
This was our first time ever renting through VRBO so I was a little apprehensive that something might go wrong. However, this was absolutely the cleanest and nicest cabin we’ve ever stayed at and I would definitely like to come back and stay again sometime. Thank you! 😊
Loved this cabin! Perfect for my sweet family to get away for a few days. The cabin is a short drive up and sits in the beautiful mountains, yet is very close to downtown, the best of both worlds. The cabin was clean, very well appointed and completely stocked with everything we needed to cook in. My two grandsons absolutely loved the bunkroom/gameroom, and played non stop. The hot tub was a hit with everyone. Plenty of smart TVs so we could all keep up with our favorite streaming shows. Great and immediate communication with our Hosts, and much appreciated. Great family time!! We’ll be back!
We enjoyed our time here! The games were great for all ages, even my teens. Close to everything on Gatlinburg. The mountain drive up to the property was steep, just like all properties in the mountain. We saw a family of four bears. We went ziplining at ClimbWorks as recommended by the hosts…incredible! Katrina is very responsive, which I really appreciate. We did bring our dog, but I wouldn’t recommend it. The roads are narrow, so no great walking areas. Very few trails allow dogs.
We had a great time at this cabin ... we saw a few bears just walking around checking things out, the kids loved that! The cabin was very clean & the host was super responsive ... one of the TVs didnt work & the owner sent ROD and he replaced the TV within a few hours! He was very professional & nice. The kids loved the hot tub and the game room was a BIG HIT.
We would recommend this cabin for family vacation - its close to Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge, great location.
We came to Gatlinburg for my sons football tournament over Thanksgiving break. We had a great time. The cabin was so cute. Plenty of space. Well stocked kitchen. The beds were so comfortable! They kids loved the game room. The owners were so quick to respond to all of our questions, they even had a pumpkin pie delivered to us for the Thanksgiving holiday. So many memories were made.
Clean and well maintained. Plenty of linens, but could use more places to hang them (hook on one bathroom door was missing). We saw multiple bears right from our window!
The drive up was not bad at all if you have done any amount of mountain driving. From pidgeon forge, take the gatlinburg bypass to avoid traffic if you don't mind a slightly more mountainous drive.
The whole group enjoyed the experience in the cabin. It is located in the quiet area, with bears showing up in the front yard often. We enjoyed watching bears on the porch.
The rooms are clean. The two story floor plan is perfect for 2 families to share the carbin.
The arcade machine help keep kids busy.
The communication with the hosts is very efficient and smooth.
I will choose this cabin again for my next Smoky Mountain visit if it is available.
Can't Bear To Leave is a nice 2 story cabin with a lot of space. It's easy to get to and close to all of the places we like to visit. All of the bedrooms are roomy and the beds are comfortable. My daughter enjoyed the games ( and so did the adults 😁) Everything was very clean! The only thing we were missing were some blankets downstairs for kicking back and watching movies. I contacted the owners and they offered to have some delivered to us, but we chose not to have them go through the trouble. They are very nice and the communication from the time I booked the cabin to the day we left was top notch. I highly recommend this cabin!!
