Was a perfect property for our family, us and our two adult children and spouses. We essentially had our own floors. The house was beautiful. It was so hot the week we were there and the air conditioning was so nice and cool. Owner responded very quickly in all communication. Would definitely stay here again
We really loved the layout of this home for our group! The home was decorated well, clean and very comfortable. The communication from the host was absolutely outstanding. We would stay here again!
Our family thoroughly enjoyed this cabin. The owner responded to our questions right away. The cabin provided plenty of well maintained space, a very good stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, movie/game room (great for our teenagers). This was a definitely vacation to remember and we will be looking to stay again when we make it back to TN.
Cabin nicely equipped with day to day items quiet area. Seems to be on a bear trail multiple sightings daily no problems they just traveled their path. Jessica the host is a wonderful communicator and responded to any/ all questions about the stay Great get away
The overall experience was outstanding. From check-in to check-out, completely seamless. Communication from property owner throughout the process was outstanding, any question we had was answered without hesitation, and almost instantly. We had a great experience in a very nice cabin. Plenty of space, but also cozy!
The property was set on a steep incline, so bring your 4 wheel drive vehicle. The house was beautiful. We loved that each room was on a different floor. The main floor bedroom made it easy for our elderly parents to navigate. The wooded views were peaceful and quiet. The game room/theater room was great too! Thanks so much for a great stay. Our only negative was a smell in the downstairs bathroom. We used a provided candle to help with that.
Our stay at Rustic Retreat was everything we hoped for and more! We stayed with our parents and young children and had everything we needed for our stay. The layout is great—and gave everyone a place to comfortably spread out. The wrap around deck offers a great place to listen to nature and view the wildlife. The location is close enough to all the sights but far enough into the mountains to feel like your in your own secluded cabin. Jessica the owner, was super! Prompt with all of our questions and very friendly and accommodating throughout. We will definitely stay again! If you want a comfortable cabin with amazing service and great wildlife viewing…this is the place for you!
Property is in a perfect location. Central to pretty much anywhere you need to go. Jessica was very helpful and communicative!! The other reviews are correct when they say the road and driveway can get a little tricky but nothing too bad and that would keep me from booking again. The house was clean and spacious and was stocked with essential household items. Overall, our family had a great vacation and would highly recommend Jessica and The Rustic Retreat!!!
We were in Gatlinburg for a wedding weekend. This cabin was the perfect size for our family. One downside is the location. It is a climb and a half up the mountain and situated halfway between either side of the bottom of the mountain. So whichever way you come, you will be winding and climbing for at least 10 minutes. I am glad that I drove my truck. Additionally, the cabin needs to be sprayed for bugs. I killed 3 spider crickets while staying there. Not a big deal for me, but my kids were concerned about them. I realize you are deep in the woods, so bugs are something you deal with. Overall great stay. I would likely choose somewhere closer to Gatlinburg next time.
We loved our stay! The loft is really nice with it's own bathroom. Our 11 year old immediately claimed it. The kids all loved the Jacuzzi tub in the master. The hot tub was fenced in at grade which is super nice. The upper deck has a latching gate which was also great for little ones. The beds were really comfortable. The showers had plenty of pressure but showers heads are attached.
The guidebook Jessica made is wonderful! We've visited the area many times and never seen a guidebook so well laid out. She has listings that aren't high tourist attractions. We visited Parrot Mountain, a petting zoo, and took a couple scenic drives from the recommendations. She has QR codes for everything so planning was a breeze.
Now the driveway, It's not too bad. The other reviews made me think it was rough, It wasn't. It's a shared drive but on the back end of a secluded road. When you turn off the main road the driveway gets very briefly steep but leveled off where the other cabin's drive meets, then an incline, not bad. It turns sharp and inclines and at the cabin it gets more steep but levels off next to the cabin. There is a spot at the turn to back a vehicle down and turn around. I tried that the first day then decided to try to turn around next to the cabin. I drive a Yukon XL and I was able to do it. The driveway was loads better than the new cabins hanging off the side of the mountain that you'll see on the way up
The only con, the grill is charcoal and small, off the deck steps
Just spent a few days in Gatlinburg. The cabin was awesome! Well kept and cozy! I’d recommend it for sure! It does get really dark out there so be safe driving up!
