Cally House, Gateshead-of-Fleet, from A75 by-pass, 1986. View NE from the A75 (Gretna - Dumfries - Stranraer) road on its by-pass of Gatehouse-of-Fleet. This must be Cally House, but seems somewhat more modest than the present Hotel.

Site of a Roman fortlet, Girthon. This fortlet was only discovered in the late 1940's by aerial photography. It has been excavated and re-covered so there is nothing visible from ground level.

Room excellent and clean staff very friendly and helpful food in restaurant also very good went there off season so not much open in village and surrounding areas but still found enough to do would recommend
