"The apartment was great, very clean. It was nice having access to a washing machine. My only complaint is the noise from the restaurant below that would go till 11:45pm some nights."

"Beautiful spot, but difficult to access without a rental car. We were travelling on foot/train/bus and we had to rely solely on the 2 or 3 taxis in the township. The walk was ok downhill, but very arduous going back (We're in our 70's). We chose Varenna as it much more affordable than Ballagio, and the views are simply breathtaking. With a car, this would have been perfect, but we also found that the locals were very accommodating and actually took us home in their own vehicles a few...

"Stunning views. Great location. The house was very nicely done and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Overall great host, just not very responsive answering questions either before or during the stay. "

"The apartment was close to the water, cafes, and restaurants. The layout was very nice. We used the pull out couch, and it was comfortable. The washer and dryer were also easy to use. Appliances were modern, as well as the bathroom. The bottle of rosé was an appreciated touch! "

"This property was a nightmare. It was advertised as having AC, but only had one weak portable unit that couldn’t cool the home below 27C (80F), making it unsafe for our newborn who was overheating and crying nonstop. On top of that, we were warned not to use multiple electrical devices at once or risk losing power—making it impossible to use fans or cool the space.Worse, the water heater vented directly into the kitchen, filling the home with gas whenever hot water was used.
